I toured Brookdale Medina South. The only thing that stopped me from having to go there was the location. It's just that the north one is going to be more convenient for us to visit, but I honestly was ready to move in there myself. I met a few of the residents who were super friendly and welcoming and the staff that we didn't meet, which was like just an absolute drop in unplanned visit. It was kind of in the middle of a blizzard and I felt they had the manager. I'm not sure what her title was, but she needed to get ahead at home because her husband was handicapped as well. She said that their aide or whatever had been going to be leaving, and she needed to make sure she got home in time, and so forth, but she still stayed and showed us around and showed us a couple of units, and she's just very accommodating. The dining area was well-lit and restaurant-style.

Brookdale Medina South definitely wasn't a first choice. It was a very institutional looking setting, but not too bad. When we looked at the price points, it definitely wasn't the one I would lean towards. The woman we were supposed to meet with was unavailable and got called away. We met with the activities director who was very nice and very helpful. Really didn't have all the information on hand, but the tour was nice. We just didn't get a chance to get the nuts and bolts information we were looking for. The apartments also looked institutional, but I didn't notice any issues. The dining room was OK. When we walked through, they were playing bingo, and a woman was working on a puzzle. So they have their rooms to do things.

Dad is at Brookdale Medina South. The facility is very good. It is homey. The staff's care and concern for him are excellent. They're like family. They have exercises, puzzles, art classes, traveling DVDs that they can watch, and bingo. The food is good.

My mom will stay at Brookdale Medina South. They found her a room at the memory care unit, so she is OK now. We're very happy with this one. We really think it's a good one. The people are very kind. The care is good. The meals are great. My mom has enjoyed the food. Overall, it's a very good experience for my mom. The staff is very nice and very attentive. They have different activities available every week. They have a salon. The outdoor space is very nice. They have sidewalks all around the whole facility where you can take leisurely walks if you choose.

Brookdale Medina South was a beautiful place. Although they didn't take a Medicaid waiver (which was what we were looking for), the admissions lady was very sweet. She offered us help and to discuss how we could possibly make it through what we needed to get through to get Mom to a place. She was excellent. They have a nice dining room where they will make sure that residents come down to eat. They also offer therapy if it's needed, medication help, and transportation. It was great.

Brookdale South is a real gem, with a helpful and caring staff, many stimulating activities, clean rooms, wonderful facilities and great tasting food. I am here for rehab and physical therapy, and liked Brookdale South so much that I decided to retire from my job and enjoy my new life of retirement living here. After my surgery earlier this year, I stayed at four other assisted living facilities that had too many negatives and drawbacks, but Brookdale South is so much nicer and with such a fantastic and friendly staff that I wanted to stay here full-time. misterwandle

I stayed at this facility for several months following a fall and rehab stay. It was like a breath of fresh air! The staff is so friendly and responsive - I felt right at home. The other residents were very welcoming. The single floor building is bright and airy, and VERY clean! Even the food was great!

Brookdale Medina South was very nice. It was one floor, which was very good, although from talking with some people, I guess it was understaffed. The staff was very nice. It was a nice, single, private room that was very clean. The outside was beautiful.

Brookdale Medina South was really nice inside. They had lot of nice of activities, but it was just the cost. My father would be in there in a minute if it wasn’t $2200 or $2700 a month for one-bedroom. He doesn’t feel like he can afford that for very long, and he is worried that he will outlive the amount of time that he would need.

Emeritus at Medina was gorgeous, and it was very clean. There were things I did not like about it such as you had to be in the property eating at least once a day or you would have to move. They were wonderful. I wish I lived closer or my family lived closer. I would have been there right now. They had music, exercise, Bingo, games, and interacting with other people -- lots of things.

I was able to visit Emeritus at Medina when I was looking for a facility for my sister-in-law. It was a lovely place. If I had to choose one, it would be this facility. The people there were very loving and kind. I felt it was a tremendous place. The rooms were nice and comfortable. I saw the dining room, and you would feel like you are in a restaurant. It's well appointed. Overall, for an assisted living place, I think it is adequate.

I had a quick tour at Emeritus at Medina and it looked nice. To me, it just looked more like a nursing home than the one my dad is in. The staff was very nice. There were some activities going on when I was there. They had a community room. It was in a good location.

We were looking for a facility for my father-in-law, and we looked at Emeritus at Medina. The staff were very friendly, and they answered all our questions. They were also very understanding with his condition and very open to offer us all the services and care that he would need. It's definitely a place that we would be absolutely considering, 100%. I know that they cook according to the diet that each patient needs, and that is good to know because he is a diabetic. They had different things going on all week long that he could participate in and still be active and not feel left out. The grounds just need a little upgrading, since it's an older facility.

I just like the layout of Emeritus at Medina. The staff who toured me around the facility was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I like the way I see them take care of their patients. The rooms were nice and clean, but I think I would like something bigger. I also like it because it's all in one level. I want to stay in this facility if I can.

My dad knew somebody from Emeritus at Medina and he liked it there. Everything seemed top class and the location was close to the other relatives so they could see him. The staff were friendly and the services seemed to be what we were looking for. The meals they served were basically good and were right in portions. My dad liked everything about it and I would recommend this to others.

My husband is now at Emeritus at Medina. I had contacted them a number of times and when the time came, they were right there. They had a room on sale at the time. They produced it by $1800 and I jumped on it. We're renting a two-room apartment. The facility is a pretty nice place. They provide visiting doctors. The staff is excellent. Resident activities include bingo and crafts and other typical ones.

There's two of them in Medina under that chain. It's an assisted living but they do have dementia care unit. The other one I was going to visit but I just never got to it after I visited the one I was happy with. I went out and talk to them and got prices. They seemed like a very nice place. I just visited it one day and I would have to tell somebody to look at it. I don't know that much about it but it looked very nice and I like the way even better than nursing home where we can go eat with people and they have a little private room that they offer for that.

Emeritus is a wonderful place. It's very nice but they're not setup to handle someone like my husband. He was there for a month, and then one night the staff freaked out and just couldn't deal with him. All the other patients in the memory care unit were quiet, so I don't know what set him off.

The staff at Emeritus is simply amazing! They are kind, compassionate, caring, and treat my Grandmother with the respect that she deserves. She is suffering from Alzheimer's and can be a bit of a challenge to take care of, but the staff is always very patient and understanding with her. The location of the facility is not necessarily the nicest or most tranquil unfortunately. It is located next to a busy road with cars zooming by at 45 mph day and night. It can sometimes be a bit of a distraction at night when my Grandma is trying to go to sleep. The facility grounds themselves are well maintained and include a nice sidewalk area where walks can be taken. Overall, I am very satisfied with the care my dear Grandmother receives everyday. I know she is being treated well and that gives me a great deal of peace of mind when I go to bed at night.
