My mother-in-law moved into Brookdale Camelot Medina. We chose it because of the location. We like the security of the facility. It feels like a hotel, not a senior living facility. It's very clean, and they have friendly staff. The biggest thing I want to stress is they went above and beyond the day we moved in to help us. Due to COVID, food is being delivered to the rooms currently. She loves the food. I would do four stars because the eggs are cold in the morning. When they can finally go back to the dining room, I'm sure it will be better. But she's happy with the food. They normally do have activities, but because of COVID, there's no activity now. There's a library, a room that you can rent for large parties, a beauty shop, and there's a snack shop.

My mom moved to Brookdale Camelot Medina. My brother and I were given two weeks to find a place for her. That place was closest to my home. We could afford it for a while. They made it sound like if I paid here, I could switch her to one of the other facilities that accepts Medicaid, and then I found out what she told me was not true. Her apartment is nice. They have a lot of activities. My mom doesn't necessarily participate in them. She has started to do puzzles lately. There are some people I like and other people I don't. I was lied to by the salesperson. I liked the head nurse, she's great, but I've had problems getting my mother's bed changed properly. I've been lying too about a few things, like clothing and stuff that's gotten misplaced. The food is not great. A lot of residents complain about it. The facility is very clean. They offer a lot of activities for the residents.

I toured Brookdale Camelot Medina. My mom is a very outdoorsy person, and every room in the facility has a little balcony. It's little, but they all have a balcony, so it's not depending on what price point you're at or anything like that. They all had access to the outside so that she could sit outside, and maybe have tomato plants or something within her reach, and I think that that will be a good thing for her. We met a few of the other staff. I'm not sure if they're nurse's aides or something like that. Everybody seemed to be very friendly, and I've had feedback from other people's family members that turned out that they have their loved one there, too, and that everybody is great. They had three meals a day. Plus, they have what they call a sweet shop, and they have, like, a pastry chef lady who comes in. I'm not sure if it's weekly or how often it is, but she makes desserts and shares the dessert with everybody. Another major thing was since my mom is 97, I wanted to make sure that the facility was clean and age in place. So even if she got very dependent, when that time comes, if hospice is needed, they can handle that.

I toured Brookdale Camelot Medina. I liked the layout. We looked at the two-bedroom, and even the studio seemed very roomy and laid out well. So I like that the best. I felt there were plenty of activities for the seniors. It's a little bit of an older building but very kept up. I felt it was clean and spacious, and I like the area, the neighborhood that it's in. It's a little bit noisy, but that's because it's central to everything. The staff being only there a few weeks, she was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of good information as far as longevity of the staff. They didn't have to get a lot of outside help during COVID. She was very friendly with the residents. She didn't know all the names because she's only been there three weeks, but I got to meet a couple of the residents and they were very pleased and had lived there for quite some time, like over ten years. So that says a lot. I think the food choices were adequate. They have a variety, it's restaurant style, so, if you go hungry, I feel it's your own fault. Me being a dessert person, I thought there could have been a little bit more choice of desserts. But then again, as we age, a lot of us have diabetes, and so the choices were appropriate for that. I didn't get to try the food or anything, but I thought there were plenty of dining choices.

Woefully short staffed. Caregivers did as well as possible under the circumstances & were as caring as time permitted. Administrative staff appeared to be unable to provide billing info although the organization received on time payments. Detailed charges not provided & copies of invoices months behind.

I like Brookdale Camelot Medina. I like the physical setup, but it offers too much stuff that I don't need. I don't need 3 meals a day, and they also don't have full kitchens. It's really more of a place for people who need assistance, and I don't need assistance yet. It'd be more like a hotel living, I guess. I was looking for independent living, but they're assisted living. The staff was very nice, and they're very friendly. In fact, the guy has called me a couple of times just to see what I'm looking at. I like the facility. The rooms are arranged around a central big opening, which I liked. I also like that they had a bunch of really nice rugs hanging on the wall. Most places I've looked at have decor that does not appeal to me. This place had 3 different choices for an entree, which was nice (although they're all meat). It seems like every meal you have to have meat, and I don't eat much meat.

I am a resident of Brookdale Camelot Medina. It has been OK, but I'm quite a bit younger than most of the residents here, so it is a little difficult. They provide three meals a day, but right now, there are not many activities because of the virus. The staff is very nice. The food is very good. The place is OK. They said we can get therapy here as well, but I don't have much satisfaction in that department.

The one that we chose is Brookdale Medina North. It had the nicest kitchen arrangements, and I also favored it because they have their residents wear pendant call buttons at all times. They were all very nice, and I had no problems with them. It was spacious, clean and well-decorated, with pleasant staff. The only one that we pursued for lunch was the Brookdale, and my mother was happy with that.

Beware! Since Brookdale has taken over, this facility has declined. They fired many of the great people they had when it was Emeritus and they raised the poor residents' rents. Some staff members are really caring and good with the residents while others are just bossy and do not demonstrate caring attitudes towards the residents. What was once a respected, well run facility has turned into a sad state of affairs under this new leadership (or lack of it, unfortunately.

I have a relative there. 2 years in a one bedroom assisted living. Well staffed when it was Emeritus. Now that Brookdale took over, care is down the toilet. Not enough staff. No director. Safety is becoming a concern. I am trying to move my relative out as soon as possible. Brookdale ads on TV make me laugh and cry all at the same time. Too much staff turnover. It's sad when these big corporations who we entrust to take care of our loved ones, want to warehouse these seniors and drain all the money out. Buyer beware. Why can't Brookdale corp get this place in shape? This is a big company. Move some employees from other places to train new ones, and pay your staff what they deserve. 90 some residents are depending on some help. Next step is to call the state in.

When my friends moved in three years ago we all thought that Camelot, nka Brookdale, was a great place for them. They were in their mid 80's.. As long as you are healthy and can pretty much take care of yourself, this is great place to live. Heaven forbid if your memory declines or maybe you might sleepwalk in the night. Be prepared to be kicked out on your ear or moved to a lockdown unit because now you are a risk for wandering and they won't take care of you anymore. They will however take care of you if you are totally unable to care for yourself, can't express yourself, can't feed yourself, I can only imagine what kind of care you would receive. They don't pay their aides enough to keep enough staff on hand. The Executive Director and Head of Nursing were fired before the Holidays and as of the New Year the Marketing Director was running the show. They let their evening staff sit around and watch TV and only do something if someone presses their emergency button. You make up your own mind, but I know I will never recommend Brookdale North.

Emeritus at Camelot is a big place. It has a lot of clients living there, and from what I could see from my brief visit, it was a very nice place. The staff people that I came in contact with were professional, and I had no problem with them. They gave me a menu to take home, and it looks like you can get anything you want. It looked like a good place, and I am satisfied with it. I would recommend it to others, and when I am ready to go, this is the place where I am going.

We choose Emeritus at Camelot because it is close to where my dad's condo is, so he is very familiar with the neighborhood and it is easy for his neighbors to visit him. We also like the general surrounding. My dad's accommodation is very nice. He has a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette and a balcony. The staff seems very good and nice. I eat there, the food is good and my dad likes the food. My dad participates in the activities. He likes to go on bus tours once a week. They also go out to lunch a couple of times a month. He does share exercises three times a week. They have a pet visitation program and he likes when the dogs visit. They also have some kind of music groups which they bring in once in a while and he enjoys that. However, sometimes the communication is a bit of a challenge. It is not terrible, but sometimes it's hard to get a hold on them because I live in a different state, so I have to communicate either by telephone or email.

My husband and I love Emeritus at Camelot Assisted Living. Presently, his Aunt and Father both live in their assisted living apartments. They both are doing great, love the activities and staff and feel very much at home there. We visit every couple of days and have had many opportunities to observe the operations. All of the administrative people, the nurses, and the direct care staff are WONDERFUL, caring, and sensitive to the needs of our relatives. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an assisted living environment for their loved one.

Emeritus at Camelot Place was impeccably clean and very nice. The lady who gave me the tour was terrific. She had all the information I could possibly ask for. She was fairly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the place. They do regular activities for the seniors. They had two big pool room for the residents, an exercise and therapy room, and they take the residents on outings almost every day.

My mom recently passed away at Camelot after living there for three years. No one called or wrote to send their condolences. On the night my mom died, as I was leaving from my visit ,I stopped in at the nurse's station, It was about 7 p.m. The one nurse on staff responded to me in a rude manner to my request that they give her the antibiotics that I dropped off 20 minutes earlier mom died several hours later
