I have been visitting my Dad like crazy since my family moved me back to Greenville. It was the one thing they could do for me that really makes me happy! In being there so much I can tell you there have been maybe three thing in the last 8 months, mostly minor things. And when I let the staff know about something it gets corrected right away. And the staff on 55th floor have been amazing! I could say name of all the staff that I think are above exceptional, but then I would have to name all of them! If you want your parent with an interactive staff and people that love working with your parents then you should definetly cobsidder the Brotheren Retirement community in Greenville, Ohio!

My Dad chose to live at the BRC for the last 18 months of his life. He lived in an apartment and need no special assistance, He found a new lease on life. He made dozens of friends, He found ways to serve others, and this brought him great joy. He felt needed and valued -- because he was needed and valued. He had the freedom to come and go as he pleased. The facility is clean, attractive, vibrant, and caring. The individual staff members know the individuals in the community and are aware of their needs and abilities. I will always be grateful that Dad had this excellent environment to make the last months of his life so happy, meaningful, and safe.

We placed my mother in Brethren Retirement. The staff basically have to do everything for her. They feed her; she can't walk, and she can't do anything. The room is pretty good. The food is not too bad at all.

I found The Brethren Home to be an adequate facility. 80% of the staff members seemed to care about the residents. The facility is clean in the lobby and common areas but as you got into the residential areas it was not as clean and the smell of urine was more pronounced. The patient rooms are adequate but somewhat dated. My father was incontinent but I often found that Depends had not been supplied and I had to go hunt for them in order to change him. The staff did not spend enough time trying to explain procedures and policies to my father; instead they treated him much like a little child which was demeaning. At mealtimes they wheeled the residents down to the common eating area and would often put residents at tables with other residents who suffered from medical or mental conditions that made it unpleasant to eat with them. It would be better to segregate those residents to make the dining experience a somewhat pleasant time for the residents who don't suffer from medical or mental conditions. There was little supervision at meal time and if the resident needed condiments, there was no one available to get them.

The adult day care, staffed by the present personnel, are helping me tremendously in caring for my husband. They definitely deserve five stars. Linda as director, staffed with Laura, Susan, and Barb. I would, and do, recommend the Shuff Club to anyone.

My mother lived at Brethren Retirement Community for over 4 ½ years. The care staff on Rosewood 4 was extremely friendly, exceptionally dedicated and enormously caring. The cleanliness of the facility impressed family members. The facility was odor fee, warm and inviting. The favorite thing for my mother was the food. She really appreciated the variety of choices at every meal as well as the overall quality and taste. I would rate her stay as exceptionally satisfying. The care she received at Brethren Retirement Community far exceeded our expectations and greatly improved her quality of life.

Prior to bringing my Dad Brethren Retirement Community we attempted to take care of Dad at home, helping our Mom every day/night take care of Dad with what we thought was great care. My family agreed to bring Dad to Brethren Retirement Community. In a nut shell; we expected that Dad would be cared for every day as if it were his last because we knew it was possible. Dad passed away and my family and I can say that while he lived on Rosewood 4 in the Health Care center; the staff took care of him as if each day were his last. They worked together providing each other the strength needed to not only provide care for Dad but to all of the other residents who lived there as well. They were able to put aside their own issues/challenges and realized that if there was division among themselves they would be no stronger than a single stick in the bundle. My family was thankful that the staff realized that by agreeing with each other and helping each other out that they were able to conquer anything that came their way. We were thankful we made the decision to come to Brethren Retirement Community, even though we lived 30 minutes away.
