Shepherd of the Valley Liberty is aesthetically very nice, and so far the staff has been caring and has been very good. The activities are nice. They have bingo, Jeopardy, and Family Feud nights where they offer drinks. They have different church services and music. They have a nice library. I think they're expensive, especially with skilled nursing, but I'm very happy that my father is there. It's not near hospitals. There's a grocery store nearby and a couple of simple restaurants like Chipotle and McDonald's.

My loved one was in the skilled nursing side. There are several very caring nurses and aids. Lots of activities offered as a group. The facility doctor is nice but not around enough and it takes days to get them to call you about why they canceled a medication they changed without even discussing it first. They pulled her off therapy but didn’t tell us and gave dodgy answers when we asked if she was still getting it. The therapy she would get wasn’t worth it. They rarely ever took her to the actual therapy room. Most was done in room for 10-15minutes or as a group with other residents in the hallways for 15 minutes. When we complained of the quality they said it’s contracted and nothing they can do about it. She was continuing treatments while still in there and they would schedule the comfort care rides for us. If we were picking her up for an appointment 90% of the time she was not even close to being ready when we got there. Even her oxygen tank would still need to be filled. We were late for so many appointments because of this. We had to have an argument with the staff when we learned she’d not been showered in more than a week, they promised she’d get one the next shower day and didn’t, it was a full 2 weeks and us chewing them out to get it done. Most facilities in the area have 3 shower days and get residents up and ready everyday, this one has 2 shower days and I’ve seen her in the same outfit for days on end. The staff just tossed dirty clothes, blankets etc on any surface when not in use. I have to clean up and organize every time we’re there. She’s fully bedridden so she can’t do this stuff. These are only a few of our issues. We pulled her out to try some place else. If your loved one is fully bedridden, you may want to find a place better staffed
