My sister moved to Forest Hills Place. She loves it. The staff was excellent. They're very caring. The place was clean. The place didn't have a smell to it. The apartment was a nice size. She got a one-bedroom apartment. She had a closet that was big enough to be able to store some of her stuff that was in storage. The thing was they looked happy. They didn't look like they were sad or just sitting there bored. They were actively playing cards in one of the rooms and bingo when we went there. We met the administrator. We met a couple of the nurses. We met the intake lady and we met some other staff. We went to check out the dining room and people were eating dinner. They were all very nice and caring and had a lot of information. The administrator wants the seniors to come out. She wanted them to play cards and wanted them to come on game night. She wanted them to do arts and crafts. If they don't come, she will knock on the door and say, "Where are you at? You haven't been out there." My sister said the food was good. She didn't say it was excellent. She said it was a lot better where she was. The outside was nice. They had a sitting area outside the garden with all the seniors that planted the flowers. It was well-kept. I checked the calendar board of activities, and they have a lot of other activities going on for the seniors. They even have a happy hour on Friday.

We toured Forest Hills Place. The tour went very well. I found the place to be very clean. They had many different services that were attractive to my mom. Their staff was very good. They walked us through the whole process of assessment and everything. As for the rooms, everything was set up was very nice and very efficient. I thought they did a good job on the layout. The grounds were well kept also.

Forest Hills Place was beautiful. It was clean. The residents were very well taken care of, and they seemed very content. Everybody was friendly and they seemed to have been having a good time. It was happy hour on Friday when my sister and I toured the facility. The only thing that didn't work was that I needed a week, and they said it was a 30-day minimum and we just didn't want that. That doesn't fit our family's needs. Other than that, yes, I would have left my father there in a heartbeat. They showed us both assisted living and memory care. The place was clean and neat. They were very satisfactory for a stay for my father. They even offer for my mother to be able to stay with my father, though not permanent. The room was more like a studio, but it was spacious. In the memory care unit, one of the things that I appreciate was that it was made into a circle so the residents can never get lost because they're going to always wind back up where they started. They were very concerned because at one point we were about to go out and I think we were touching the wrong door and they said it sets the alarms off. They didn't want their residents to be frightened so I think they were very caring.

Forest Hills Place was a very nice facility. The staff walked us through all the areas. She was nice. They have the single rooms, which they call something else. There were one-bedroom and studio apartments. They had an activity calendar posted on the wall. They do take the residents out. They had a courtyard, a library, and places where you could sit with fireplaces. They had one area if the residents wanted to cook. Basically, it was for those who did not have a kitchen in their apartment.

Forest Hills Place has two different buildings and one was for memory care at different levels. I spoke with a couple of people and I was very impressed with the lady that I spoke with, and I've spoken with her several times. She said that with mom's condition, she would need more of a nursing facility. I was impressed with her. Since then, she has been very helpful and continues to be helpful when we have questions. She's in charge of marketing and admissions. In the assisted living, they had a two-bedroom and had a little living room area and so forth. You could bring your own things if you wanted to. In memory care, the room already had everything it needed. I was impressed that many of the residents were out and about and doing various things. They had different activities for them. The staff knew everyone that we passed by or saw by name and they knew everything about them. The care was very personal. We liked it. The staff was great. I saw a menu and they had choices. She said a lot of times, people who need memory care like to feel they're independent, even if it's just something as simple as being able to select from the menu, which was kind of interesting. They had an atrium on the outside of one of the buildings. Each building has three floors and the one with the highest level of memory care had a dining room by itself. Although the dining areas weren't as fancy as the others with all the tablecloths and things, I felt they were quite adequate.

My father has moved into Forest Hills Place. So far, he's doing OK. The staff is very pleasant for the most part, but I don't think they have enough staff. Things will be good if they had more staff, but what they have there do a good job and work hard. I go in in the morning and make sure my dad is set up for the day in the common area for lunch and everything. It just lets me know that he's not in his room all day and I think they make a real effort to get him involved in activities. They have activities, so I like that. I just would like to see them have more staff available to them. They have an hour where they read the bible to him, they have current events, they have happy hour last week where they played different rhythm and blues music and they have snacks, and they have an exercise class. My dad will be getting physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy and they have those right there onsite, which is nice. They had a family game night just this past Thursday. They do a lot of activities and that's what I like and I also like that it seems to be very culturally diverse. He is in assisted living with memory care. I have tasted the food and it's very good. You could get the standard and you have a choice of the portions as well. The one-bedroom apartment is nice and spacious. The closets are huge. You have your bathroom, your living room, your dining room, and your kitchenette that has a microwave and a full-size refrigerator. My dad is in more of an efficiency-type suite, so you have room for your bed and then you have like a sitting area and a bathroom that you don't share. He has a kitchenette, but his kitchenette has like what you might find in a college dorm room as far as a refrigerator. It's not full-size. He has a nice view of the courtyard from his room. I think they do pretty well with the staff that they have.

What I liked the best about Forest Hills Place was that it seemed like the staff were extremely busy. They had no rooms available, but they were taking people for a waiting list and the staff we met were very helpful in trying to help us understand how their system works and how we would have to deal with it. I appreciated their frankness about how Medicare and Medicaid would interface with what care my sister would need. They schedule three meals a day and snacks are available. You could eat in their dining room or your room. The physical appearance of the facility was average. The housekeeping was doing the floors when we were there, so they have some kind of scheduled maintenance of the hallways and the lobby. I liked the layout/floor plans of the rooms for assisted living. They were pretty good. I also liked that it's not a multi-level/high rise building.

We're hoping to move my dad to Forest Hills Place. We chose it because of the proximity to my home and his doctors, the staff, and everybody we met was helpful. The place was nice, it was clean, and it didn't smell like a medical facility, and didn't smell like old people. The amenities that are included with the rent are nice. I felt like it was worth it. Outside of the personal care stuff, some housekeeping and laundry, they have scheduled activities all day, exercise every day, and just the variety of activities they have when we went on the tour. Somebody was doing manicures, there was a lot offered to them, and they have choices of things to do. We did not try the food while we were there, it wasn't a mealtime, but they have a 24-hour little snack bar, and we checked that out. Everything was beautiful. They have a big courtyard where they can sit, there's also a balcony on the second floor so they can go outside, and there are four to five different common areas that are like living room areas, and sitting spaces where you can sit and chat with people, or if you have guests to sit down with. There's a lot to do outside of the apartment.

I liked the smallness of Forest Hills Place. I like the number of residents they have and just the whole layout; the way it was set up and the function of it. We visited the memory care, and it's a safe unit. They can have their own room and shower. I saw a studio, and it was clean and spacious. There's an activity center with a lot of different stuff, as well as a calendar that showed different times and different activities. They also have a beauty shop, and they go out on different social outings. I met one person, and she was very nice, friendly, and informative. They encourage all the residents to come down to the dining room, but they allow them to eat in their own room if they want.

My uncle has only been at Forest Hills Place for a month, but it seems to be a very caring environment and he seems to be happy. Unfortunately, right now, he may stay there because it's a 120-mile drive for my mom to visit him, so she is looking for somewhere closer. The food has been an issue for him. He used to have a low-salt diet and he said that the food is not meeting that requirement at this time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is very clean and inviting. They have an activities director and I have seen the residents participating in activities such as bingo. With Covid measures right now, they're not able to take field trips that they once did, but I know they do have other activities. He has only been there for a short period of time, but so far, we have been very pleased.

We have seen Forest Hills Place. My husband is probably going to stay there for a week sometime this month. It's for respite care because I'm going out of town. We were very impressed with it. The staff did a wonderful job of showing us around. The staff member who gave us the tour is a very upbeat person and she has followed up with me. I expressed an interest in one of their stuffed chairs to be in the room. I asked for one of those nice lounge chairs and they're going to put it in his room. I thought that was very accommodating of them and very nice of them. The room is a nice size. It has a nice sized bathroom that is bigger than our bathroom at our house and the shower has a built-in seat, which I thought was very nice. There is a microwave, a little refrigerator, and a little eating table with two chairs. They have a dining room, a lounging room with the TV, and an activity area. The facility is very clean and very nice.

Forest Hills Place was not a good fit for my parents. My mother was assisted living, and my father was in the dementia unit. They were both in the memory care unit because they wanted to stay together. They did not pass meals on time, they did not do their rounds every two hours, they did not have a working pendant for my mother, and they did not have the call buttons working in the rooms for patients to push. They say that they make sure that all the residents eat, but they don't, and if they don't eat, they make sure that they give them a supplemental meal that they will eat, but they don't, they just take the plate. They hadn't taken my father's blood sugar. It's like a plethora of neglectful situations, which they should be assisting them with. They weren't prepared for them. They didn't know they were moving in on that date, so they didn't have medication ready for them. It just wasn't good. I spoke on the phone with them every day mainly about the same issues, from moving in until they left. No one should have a whole pair of jeans soaking wet with urine, so there's no way they're doing their rounds.

I chose Forest Hills Place for my husband. I wasn't pleased that it's difficult to reach the people at the office. I had a difficult time. Sometimes the phone didn't work or it will go to voicemail many times, or the auto attendant. My husband was on the 3rd floor memory care, then he moved to the small building at the back which was strictly for memory care. In the main building, the staff was very friendly except for one or two of the nurse aides that I didn't care for, but basically the staff was good. They had activities but it seemed like there was a whole lot of just sitting around. The food was okay, though I didn't like the way they had the nursing assistants to bring out one plate at a time. So I didn't care for the way the food was served and the people sat there and waited for maybe 15-20minutes for their food to come. Also the food service is a little late, and it's the same thing for the back building that's strictly memory care. I just felt that there's a better way to serve people than what they have done. They did a lot of bingo and art activities. I wasn't all that impressed. It seemed like people just sat around after dinner, like they go to dinner at 5:00 and they just go sit in front of the TV. It's just boring same old stuff. Once I saw them watching Godzilla, so I asked someone if they could change it, then I got a little attitude. They need something light, music, positive and fun, not monsters tearing down buildings and stuff so I didn't like that. I didn't feel like my husband was turned every 2 hours when he was bedridden and wheelchair bound, nor did they change him enough.
