FOR MY SISTER

July 18, 2021
My sister was a patient at this facility from May -June 2021. She went to this facility for rehab following a stay at the hospital. The event that she fell in the bathroom after asking for help, was actually a blessing. So, for two weeks, my sister complained of severe back pain to nurses, aides, nurse practitioners, and the rounding doctor. None of them listened to her. She even complained her legs were becoming numb. Still, no one listened. She asked for help in the bathroom because she could not feel her legs. An aide assisted her and yet told her she shouldn't need any help. My sister fell in the bathroom, and as the aide stood over her telling her to get up, my sister could not. EMS arrived and transported my sister back to the hospital. The following day they had to perform emergency surgery on her back d/t an infection that was eating her backbones. NICE PLACE.

My mother-in-law has been at this facility for a few years so far. The facility failed for a time at putting in her hearing aid on a daily basis, nor did they keep up on doing her hair. When we visiting we seemed to have to do a search to find her glasses. We'd have to guess is it hid under the blanket or are they in her dresser drawer? On various visits we noticed that no water had been left in her room. Her daughter that was with us was not impressed by the quality of her finished laundry. My husband was her power of attorney but somehow another daughter was allowed to handle things. The facility had the nerve to bill my husband. He only was in his position a week or two. The facility did correct their error and billed that daughter. Eventually the facilty did improve some, but I personally am happy that I was given the chance to care for my parents. If they had been in that facility I would of had them moved elsewhere and I would not recommend them.

Our family found this facility after my grandmother was a resident of a nursing home that was not providing her with quality care. And we needed to find a suitable facility. When we toured this facility we were instantly convinced that this was the place for our grandmother. It's a small facility so residents receive more personal care. It may not be as modern appearance-wise as some other local facilities. But they treat their patients with love and understanding. After the horrible experience that we had with another nursing home this is a welcome relief. We can relax knowing that our grandmother is in great hands.

I'm overall happy with the care that this facility has offered my mother. I've had minor issues but nothing that impacted her health. She is treated with respect and is well cared for. They do a very good job making sure she is comfortable and keeping up with her health and wellness. They always try to include her in activities and make her feel welcome. They also keep family members well informed of any issues or concerns that they may have. It isn't the same as caring for her myself. But it's the next best thing. They do a wonderful job.
