My mother is staying at Brookdale Canton, and it's been wonderful. They provide three meals. They clean her room once a week. They do her laundry once a week. She has assistance in the bathroom when she needs it. And then there is a doctor on staff if you want to use their doctor. There are nurses on the premises 24-7. My mom is in one bedroom, and it's the largest room. She has a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchenette, and a living room. There are smaller rooms available for single or double occupancy. They have a beauty salon, an events director who does activities and exercise classes, and puzzle tables all over the place. My mom has a therapist that comes in and works with her.

We had a very good tour experience at Brookdale Canton. It was friendly, clean, and cheerful. The food was good. They had one entree, but then they also had the "always available" menu. The facility was in excellent condition. The rooms just seemed a little smaller. The dining area was very nice with lots of windows and light. The activities, though, seemed a little lighter. They had more for the women. They had bingo once a day and crafts, but the activities for the men seemed a little light.

We went to Brookdale Canton yesterday. It was very comfortable, very welcoming, clean, and in good repair. Everyone I spoke to was happy to be there. They had nothing but good things to say. I was impressed with the staff. They're very knowledgeable and caring. We did not try their meals, but we did discuss that if this was a place my aunt and uncle were considering, they would arrange for us to have a meal together there so they could sample the food as well. I like the security of the community. I love the courtyard. It seems homey. It seems like you have a front yard, not just your room. They had a very nice sunroom where I think a lot of activities happened, and it was very similar to the sunroom that my aunt and uncle had, so I think they would enjoy that.

We chose Brookdale Canton for mom. She hasn't moved in yet though. It's very nice and very clean, and there were a lot of friendly staff members. There were not a lot of residents there. It was only probably about 30 or so residents there, which was nice. It was a nice facility, that's why we chose it. She's got the studio. They're all roughly the same size. It's been repainted and everything's been changed out with new rugs. It's a studio apartment, so it's not very huge. The closets were nice and big. They were having some bingo or some kind of game activity. I know they have a schedule every day. They also have social hours and things for the garden. At the time I visited, they were all around, just kind of socializing with each other. There are hair and nails people that come in. Other than that, I didn't see a whole lot more. I didn't get a chance to look at the social activity part. The facility was pretty nice, with newer upkeep, and it was very clean from what I saw. It's one level that makes it very good for mom in terms of not having to use an elevator or get upstairs. It just completes a circle, so it's very nice that she could go from one end to the other, and that's where she could get exercise. There's a courtyard within that circle. There are a lot of things to do out there. They just had an Easter egg hunt with the kids that came. They have small garden activities. There's a nice garden bed that was up, so the residents don't have to get down on their knees and get on the ground to work in the garden. It's more of a tabletop garden. It looked very clean and well kept. I've met the staff, but I haven't interacted with them too much yet. I met with the head nurse. They had to do an evaluation just over the phone for now, but they'll do a full evaluation. The cook has been very nice. My mom is Japanese, so she said she'll make some sushi for her. We heard some really good things about Brookdale, so we kind of decided to go with that just from experiences with our friends.

My mom's overall experience with Brookdale Canton is very positive. She's not a real social person by nature, but she is starting to get to know people, and they tell me that she's starting to come out of her shell. The staff is excellent. They're attentive and very good at communicating with the family about anything. They've been communicating with us and responding when we have needs. The upkeep is also excellent. So, we've been pleased. My mom says she's really happy with the food. Her room is sufficient and she has no complaints about it. She said that we chose well for her and that she has the room that she needs. As COVID lifts, we'll be able to take her out into the rest of the facility, and the various sitting areas and different things. We're just a little bit limited right now, but she is receiving occupational and physical therapy. Normally, they are an active community. There are a lot of things available to them, both in the facility and opportunities to go as a group away from the facility for shopping. So far, it's a very great environment for Mom.

My mother moved into Brookdale Canton a week ago. It's excellent. We liked that it's a small community, everyone is very friendly, the staff, even the residents are very friendly. I like the security there. You can't get in or out without being buzzed in. The courtyard is private, so no one can get to the courtyard from outside the facility. My mom has always been afraid of her own shadow, so she feels secure where she's at. It goes like in a big square, and then the courtyard is in the middle, the outside courtyard. So my mother literally cannot get lost there. She just keeps walking, and she's going to end up where she started. The fact that she has a key to her room, and she can keep her room locked at all times if she chooses to, because the only people, the staff carry like a master key to get into her apartment if they would need to. That's an important thing for my mom, she has that security because she likes to lock her door when she goes to sleep at night. She likes it locked when she leaves her room, which they encourage them all to do when they go to the dining hall or whatever. Their calendar of activities seems full. The staff is wonderful with my mother. She got to choose her own colors for her room. She got a new carpet and new paint when she moved in and she got to choose the colors of her bedroom and the color of her living room. The apartments aren't huge, so that would be on the minus side, but I still think you're getting a lot for your money. They do offer one smaller and one larger than what my mom is in. But the larger one, I didn't feel the square footage was worth that much extra money because you weren't getting that much more footage. But on the plus side, I love it that I would not have to put my mom's name in all of her clothing. They do not do group laundry where everybody's laundry is being thrown into big washers and dryers. It's not like that. They do my mom's laundry separately. The only thing that has to have my mother's name on it is her laundry basket with her room number. That was very important because we were not going to allow them to even do my mom's laundry. We were just going to pick it up and do it because I didn't want my mom's things in with everybody else's. My mom has not had any complaints about the food so far. Her parents managed the Atwood Yacht Club for years. My grandmother was a wonderful cook and all her daughters were good cooks and my mom has not complained about the food once. Yesterday, she went and got her hair done. She went and played euchre, and they had bingo the other day. So, I would say that the activities are great.

My dad did not qualify at Brookdale Canton because he required too much care, but I liked it because it was a smaller atmosphere with less noise. It was very quiet and calming. They had music playing and people socializing. The size of the rooms were efficient. The facility was nice. There was much smaller group activities. Most of the people I saw there were administrative who were very professional, well groomed, dressed, and interacting with the people there. The dining area was acceptable.

We toured Brookdale. It was clean, very new looking, very bright, and colorful. The person who assisted us was very helpful and answered all of our questions. They showed us what we wanted to see. The food and the dining area looked good and very nice. Everybody seemed to be enjoying what they were eating.

I really liked Brookdale; it was very nice, and the rooms were really nice and beautiful. They were big. You could bring your own furniture instead of a hospital bed, and I liked that. We saw how nice and well-kept it was. They had memory care games and activities which were really good.

My experience at Brookdale Canton was very positive. The people were nice and very proactive. It was a smaller community, which I like in some ways. I would seriously consider it. They didn't have a chapel, but they had Bible study and service, a salon and a spa-type area for baths, a little greenhouse room, and a sun room. It's not as plush as some, but it was very nice. They had a program available to help for when you run out of money. They seemed like they had a good aging-in-place environment. They had rehab and a doctor they can contact.

Brookdale Canton was a really clean facility, and the people seemed really nice. The rooms were more apartment-like. They had the little kitchenette which was fine. The rooms were nice and were very clean. They had card games and bingo and a lot of the same stuff everybody else does. They didn't have a schedule to go out of the building type of a setup except for maybe like once a week where they might go on a trip. My grandfather wanted to be able to go out more often, and they just weren't doing that. I would suggest that they schedule more stuff offsite for those folks that are able to go.

I visited a few facilities, and one of them is Sterling House of Canton. My general overall impression was quite favorable. They seem to be full of activities as I was told although I didn’t see the real activities. Their dining room looked kind of small to me, but they said it would accommodate everybody.

Dad is at Sterling House of Canton. I chose it because it's near my house and that way I can see him every day. It was really nice. It was clean and the nurses were friendly. My dad likes the food and they have a lot of activities. They do a men's lunch, and they go out to lunch as well. They play the casinos which he loves doing. What I like best is that I guess they have a bunch of activities that makes him happy.

Sterling house of Canton didn't offer the type of care that my dad needed when he needed to relocate, but it was still a very nice facility. They offered three or four different types of apartments. The people I met were very nice.

Sterling House was a smaller one-story facility and it was cosy. The residents were having lunch when we got there and they were friendly. They had individual tables for four in the dining room. It wasn’t large but it was well-decorated and well-furnished. My friend told me they have some food you like and some you don’t. You can have food in your room though if you have a microwave. My friend had a bedroom in addition to the studio apartment. They go out to dinner once a week and they have a bus for transport. They also have a beauty shop.

Sterling House was a little older. It's a nice facility, it looked very clean and a lot of people like it. We did see a big dining room but the apartment wasn't big enough for us and my furniture that we would have to take.

The best thing that stood out to me at Sterling House was that it was a very secured facility. Everybody was very nice. They had a wide assortment of activities. However, the rooms were small but it had a bedroom and a living room area.

My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. Unfortunately she could no longer complete daily tasks on her own and we did not feel safe with her being by herself all day. We moved her into the Sterling House of Canton and were very pleased. Friendly staff and residents, as well as a very clean facility. It was affordable and she really seemed to like her new home. We were very pleased with the move and have suggested it to other family members who feel like they might want to move into an assisted-living facility.

I walked in and could not believe how clean and bright the place was. I have never been to one myself, but have heard horror stories from friends who have been to assisted-living facilities in the past. The few people I talked to were wonderfully nice and made sure to ask repeatedly if I needed any help finding the room. In fact, it was almost too much, but I would rather this than too little. The room was very well kept and seemed very comfortable. I didn't try the food, but my friend and his grandmother both said it is very good.

They provide comfortable life style, take care of security of residents and look after of all needs. They treat every individual as loyal and important visitor and provides the valuable service. This allow residents to live friendly and freely and creates pleasant atmosphere. They not only provides good service but also conduct fun activities in week ends. They keep an eye on strangers but it doesn't mean that they suspect the visitors. They also offers daily activities such as medication, bathing and other activities. Here staff are also very friendly and co operative for daily activities. Even if they provides more help than expected they will not except any extra money from residents. That's so nice of them. Management is also very dedicated and sincere. They take complaints and try to solve them as soon as possible with 100 % justification. I've visited there to see my friend and I've learned his experiences there and positive feedback of him. So I also wants to join there is possible.

The staff at Sterling House goes above and beyond their duties. They take the time to learn about residents and their lives and actually remember the details. They take the time to talk to the residents and truly seem interested in their well-being. My grandfather is a resident there and we couldn't be happier with his care.Sterling House caters to the needs of residents. They can get as much help as they need or as little. Residents also have a choice of menu items to choose from for each meal. There is a lovely courtyard to enjoy. There is also a sunroom, a library, and a cozy family room that has a fireplace. There's an on site beauty salon so residents can get their hair done at their convenience. Sterling House is everything that we wanted and needed in an assisted living facility. We couldn't be happier with the care that my grandfather receives and he is very happy to be there.
