Nursing Home Communities in Joshua Tree, CA

"In my experience i attended Copper Mountai n College in Joshua Tree California i was in the facility for training purposes to become a Certified Nursing assistant. On my first day on the floor i could not believe how many of the employees ignored the call lights when they went off. On one occasion one of the employees actully said "oh dont answer them right away they are just wanting to complain or something and its never very important" after she said this i thought i might cry cause i was thinking would i want my family member to pay all this money in a facility just to be treated this way? In the short months i was there i realized that not all employees were like that generally most were caring and sweet people who cared for the residents just as much as i did. As for the amenities at the facility i was surprised that they never ran out of anything everything was always clean and nicly stocked, the food was excellent and the activities they provide there sure do keep the residents in a pretty good mood i was proud to train there and miss it terribly and often wish i could go back and if i actually did have the time i would go backfrom time to time. My personal overall experience was fun and uplifting and i was very glad to be a part of that facility if only for a short time. "

"I'm very pleased with the transformation within this facility, when they finish with the remodeling its going 2 B amazing. I like the layout of the nurse's station and everything about this home makes me feel welcome. The professional staff and management R above greatness. If I were ever to be placed later in life I'd visit here. Now about previous Bad reviews I question their motives because I don't C any or that. My best friend has only improved since coming here. "its alright they are pretty nice but some seem on the edge its a quiet place thats calming. beautiful area. and they will help if you have any problems they jump right to the issue to help resolve it. "

"This facility is very clean. The staff does the best they can. Most are very friendly and helpful. This is a thankless job. If you want good care you have to be vigilant in your observations, ask staff about it and visit frequently. Most people don’t visit their relatives regularly. The food could stand to be improved significantly. Less processed food ( no one needs tater tots) would be a plus. Allow staff to have one meal daily as part of their compensation package and watch the improvements begin. How difficult is meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and a frozen vegetable medly? It’s cheaper to cook from scratch so find some cooks that can make real food. Mealtime is the only thing the residents look forward to. I know because I took care of my parents for 6 years. Why feed them crap? "

"My 92 yr old father loves his new caregiver "Steven". The office staff found the perfect match for him. He was resistant in the begining, but now he has found his new best friend. "

"My mother in law is in Manorcare Health Services for rehab. It’s nice, clean, and the people there are very busy. She’s fed on time, rehabbed twice a day, 6 days a week, and it’s excellent. I have not gotten any complaints from her whatsoever whenever I’m there. It’s just constant coming and going, and checking on her, so it’s good. She said the food’s really pretty good. She’s always had a roommate since she’s been there. The room is not bad at all, it could be a little bit bigger, but there’s no reason for it to be bigger I guess."
