My mom has been in Benedictine Living Community of Garrison. It's a full nursing home. It's run as a home, not a business, and it's very clean and welcoming. The staff who assisted me was very kind, honest, and upfront about their facility. The rooms are bright, warm, and inviting. They are both private and shared rooms. The dining area is intimate and welcoming. We didn't get to see many amenities. The salon was being used, so we didn't get to see much. It was clean. It's less expensive than what we are paying in the other facility.

My brother stayed at Benedictine Living Center for four months or so, and that was a very nice facility. The Veterans Association chose it. We were there from September through December. He had a single hospital bedroom, very typical, with just a bed and lights. The people were very nice. Just that my brother kept getting sick there, and he always ended up in the hospital three consecutive times. We were questioning as to whether or not his needs were actually being met on a nutritional level because he has dementia, and he doesn't leave his bed. We did eat there twice, and the food was acceptable. The grounds, the dining area, and the rooms were pretty standard, nice, and clean. There were nice areas you could go sit in if you wanted to. They had cards and bingo, and they had a chapel.
