I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom is currently in Accordius - Health Wilson for rehab. Our first impression of it wasn't very appealing, it's kind of in rough shape, and the room is kind of in bad repair. They need more staff to make sure they attend to their patients. The staff members are friendly and helpful. My mom's a very picky person, so she complained about the food a lot, but some are good. They have a sunroom and a dining room, and they do the laundry there for the patients. It's not an expensive place, so I think she's getting what's being paid for.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I came to do rehab after knee replacement. Although hits were nice good was not edible. I weoukd not have fed it to my dog. I was supposed to be on 3 he pain medicine. I was told I had fi.cakk and ask for it which normally ran late. One morning I waited 2 hours for my medicine.then now have a small infection on my incision...

A month ago, after visiting and having the appropriate paperwork sent, we were told that my father would have a bed at Avante, The plan was for placement at the end of September. The next thing they'd do was schedule a home visit. After not hearing from them for two weeks, I called to see what the hold up was. An excuse was given. After my call, they finally did the home visit and reassured my family that he would have a bed and talked about all the great things Avante offered and what to bring with my Dad when he came to stay. This placement was a very difficult decision to make but after the visit, everyone was feeling at ease. Two more weeks go by and it's now 3 weeks before my Dad was suppose to admitted and we hadn't heard anything more from Avante, so I called again, to see if I had anything more to do. I was told that they could not take my father at their facility. Why wasn't that said when they had the paperwork a month ago or when they made the home visit 2 weeks ago. Why did it take me, once again, to make a phone call. They didn't have the decency to let us know what was going on and didn't seem to care about what they had put us through emotionally. We were told by others that this had happened to them too. What a horrible way to treat people, especially knowing what families go through preparing for this heart wrenching decision.

I visited this facility

My mother was a resident here for about 4 weeks. During this time, Avante was undergoing a change of ownership and the decline began...Her first few days went off without a hitch. Then the food they started serving the patients began looking, and tasting like something at a daycare center. The portions shrunk and you could tell the kitchen staff was scrapping the barrel to feed the residents! HORRIBLE!! The staff apologized profusely. They knew it was a mess! How do you give an adult 1 strip of bacon and no seconds? I feel bad for the residents that have no one to check on them on a regular basis and feed them. The staff and physical therapist on the other hand were great. You could tell they were struggling as well, but put up a great front!! Get it together!! They are under staffed, and over worked and the residents are the ones suffering...

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Avante was very good, attentive and very cooperative. They went out of their way to make my husband welcome for the week that he was there. He felt it was a good place. The food was good. I would take him there again.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mom has been in Avante at Wilson for almost three months now. The main important thing for me is finding a place that would be good for her health and Avante has helped me with that. They have good staff there have been really good to her. She transitioned out of the rehab and now she is going to a semi-private room. She is doing a whole lot better now.

I visited this facility

My best friend's mother work at this facility. Things I've notice when visiting my friend's mom are good. The patients are well taken care of and the place is really clean. Its been Several occasion where i seen nurses go the extra mile to satisfy a patient that was grumpy. They always tend to show professionalism in order to make sure the patient needs were met. I really enjoy the fact that they "go the extra mile" to make sure the residents feel as much as at home as possible. They offer so many activities that stimulate the residents to want to get better. One minute you will see a resident that is grumpy and moody and the next, the staff is there to put a smile on their faces. Its really encouraging to see that. I always leave with a smile on my face. Once again, two thumbs up!!!
