Right now, my mom is in rehab at the Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Columbus County. She is 87 and has advanced Parkinson's. I think Commons has a handicap because they are shortstaffed. In my opinion, they provide the service that they are staffed to provide, but I think they should have more so that the caregiver or an aide is less than 30 minutes away. Sometimes my mom needed a nurse and called for assistance and it's taken well over an hour for someone to get to her. So that's a concern for me because she's on oxygen, but when they're there, they're adequate. The facility is very clean, but they need to renovate their rooms. The room that my mom is in is very spacious. It's a big room. The food could be a lot better. They have a calendar of activities, and do a lot of different things outside of physical therapy. They do a lot of programming for the patients.
