My mother is in Countryside Village Retirement Community independent living. She's gonna be moving later this week to the assisted living part. It served all the basic needs. It's a good community. The residents were very friendly to one another. The staff is very polite, very patient and understanding. She's been there just short of four years. She has a two-bedroom apartment that's handicap accessible and has a spacious floorplan. The overhead lighting could have been better. Bingo is an activity they offer. They had coffee for the residents in the mornings and exercise, which they call seniorcise. They usually have a social on a monthly basis in the activities room or lodge. There was a library and an outdoor courtyard with a gazebo. She will be moving into a whole separate section of the complex, and it's a private room. They just provide one meal in independent living; that's lunch.

My wife's 95-year-old mother is a resident at Countryside Manor and. likes it very much. The staff take excellent care of her. And they are knowledgeable, experienced, and very friendly. Also we ate lunch with her yesterday and I thought the food was excellent. In particular I had the tuna fish salad sandwich and it was out of this world. As good a sandwich as you could find ..anywhere in Guilford County. The office staff are well trained, friendly and eager to help visitors and family whenever there is a question. In particular the lady in the accounting office does a superb job of answering any questions that we might have from time to time. We've also met with the director a time or two and she also is an outstanding executive. We highly recommend Countryside Manor. It is a well run, very clean, very caring facility. -Tom

Countryside Village was a very nice place and, like its name, it is out in the country. The rooms were OK. There were people there that had been grandfathered in to be allowed to smoke, so when I stepped into the hallway, I could smell smoke, which was a turn-off. They did not have personal washers and dryers; you had to use the community ones. They have an extra storage unit, offer one meal a day, and have a pool where they did water aerobics. The utilities are not included; you had to pay them yourself. The staff and residents were very nice. In the cottage, there a meal is not offered at all. They have activities like a coffee hour every day, bingo almost every day, Wii bowling, bridge club, exercise, book club, church service, Bible study, etc. They fill up your day with various things if you want to be involved.

We visited Countryside Manor, which was too far away. It was very clean and seemed very nice. The staff seemed helpful and really nice. The rooms were spacious and well-maintained.

I loved Countryside, and my aunt stayed there for three and a half years. She had her own apartment there. They had a lot going on, and she participated somehow. They had one free meal a day. It was so far out however.

No one in my opinion wants to have end up in a nursing home..BUT, if I needed their assistance in the future...I would walk a hundred miles in a driving rain..they treated my Daddy like a saint...cried with him sincerely, and attended the services upon his passing, they are clean and I say 100%

Countryside Village had a very good schedule of activities but I didn't even consider it because I needed more help than they had lined up. It was more independent than I was prepared to move to. They didn't have a studio apartment. That's what I was looking for. The staff was friendly and helpful in getting me around. It was a good and clean facility.
