My 21 year old son who is autistic and a diabetic had to have an MRI this morning at iredell memorial Hospital and he had to be sedated by anesthesia because he couldn't stay completely still for long enough to do it. We had a great experience from the check in to registration to outpatient to recovery everyone was wonderful to us. They gave me updates while he was in the MRI room and the nurse in recovery offered me some soda and peanut butter crackers that I was very grateful for since I hadn't had any breakfast that morning! Everyone was so patient and caring with him being autistic. They even gave him a little stuffed lion toy. They were great to us and I would definitely recommend them!

I’ll start by saying there are a few nurses in this facility that are great! However I hate when my mom has to stay here. There are some nurses who act like you are bothering them and have awful bedside manner. This has got to be one of the worst experiences my mom has ever had at this hospital. It was so bad another nurse reported another nurse.

First of all, the physical therapists are great, so this rating isn't a reflection on them. They know how to deal with elderly people. Their activities director also good. The main thing is that nursing, like the hospital, are understaffed. The patients have to wait long sometimes for toilet help, eating, etc. They would forget to leave the bed alarm on. We also had a problem with theft, lost items. If they are able to manage it, they help patient with eating, but otherwise you may find patient sitting there with untouched plate and hungry. Years ago, we had relatives there and it seemed better then. The rating award they received about the center was undoubtable due to physical therapy, speech, etc. Center could be better.

My mother is in Iredell after a partial hip replacement. There staff are prone to argue instead of help. The RN's have been great. The CNA's some good, some need to rethink what they do!! Dietary is awful. The rooms have old beds, old televisions the place is on the first floor, sort of the bottom of the hospital and they have the bottom of equipment for care. When she was very sick after surgery, I could not be more than happy to have her there, after that you need to realize; No doctor to see her in 7 days, only RN's are running her care, and when other's come in that are worse off, they have to weigh who to care for! Good place for a few days, after that you need to get your family member to more consistent care, food, and a place where they are not just a room. Dr. Ong attending physician great!! She gets a great rating, Hospital organization gets a 2 (and that is being generous).

My mother was in Iredell Memorial Hospital before she passed. They had a skilled nursing facility and so they kept her there. Like any other nursing homes, she was more comfortable with some of the CNAs and nursing assistants than others. They really did all the work and developed a peer relationship with my mom than the nurses or the doctors, and we were really appreciative of that. My mother was dealing with a broken bone on top of the cancer and she had had surgery in the hospital on it. So she needed a lot of help in going to the bathroom and she complained about it a lot, but that wouldn't have mattered where she was at. We were really glad that she was in that facility, but there could have been little things that could have made a big difference. Their furniture was very old and the drawers on the dresser didn't shut. They were very small, so it was really difficult to store her lotion and things like that because everything was rather exposed.
