My 96 year old mother has been there for almost a year (since COVID). I can sing nothing but praises for the staff and facilities. My mom is happy and loves all the daily activities they normally do. I met with Jason Hart and knew immediately that this was the place for mom. They truly care and put the residents needs first. Every time I’ve had a question or concern, someone has always been there with answers and assurances. They are the best assisted living facility around!

Gardens of Statesville & Cardinal Village had comparable amenities and activities with the other place. We liked the big private dining room for families if you want to have a family get-together. I like the big lobby when you walk into the building with the piano and the entertainment area. They were under renovation, so you had to have a little bit of imagination about what it was going to look like when they got finished, but that didn't bother me. I think Mom would have done fine there, but the other place was less expensive and quicker to get into. They had the same kind of amenities and services that the other place does. And for memory care, they had a separate facility for activities. Their dining area was very good, too.

The rooms at Gardens of Statesville & Cardinal Village were a decent size. The place was very clean. The people that work there that we came across were very friendly. They had a garden and a game room. It's a very nice place.

I toured the Gardens of Statesville & Cardinal Village for my mother. They had a very good professional protocol. They have decent long-term staff. It was very clean, too, and the rooms are above par and it's the reason they're probably one of the most expensive places in Statesville. They've got a wide spread of caring points where they can admit you. I find it to be a decent place to go. What I find good about them is that their COVID protocol is excellent. They also don't allow people to push religion on each other, which is comforting. I looked at the rooms and some of the people were going out to the cafeteria and some people weren't as mobile. They do not let you into the rooms of the people. They have good, solid COVID protocols. They don't describe their levels of care, So I don't know where I'm going to fit in. The bad thing is they sent their marketing director to assess my mother, but they haven't sent the assessment yet. So, I can't get her out of here until next week and it's causing me more money. She needs assistance with bathing and using the bathroom. She needs lots of support. It needs a little more green space, but it's not bad. It's well decorated and a well-cared-for facility. Everything was in shipshape and in order. I looked at the kitchen and it looked pretty decent. They had a decent menu when I was there. They were having ham and macaroni and cheese, and there was a choice of something else they could have. It was pretty good.

We toured Gardens of Statesville & Cardinal Village. They meet our needs in terms of them having a furnished room available for respite care. They have activities daily, and the facility looks clean. The room was about the size of a hotel room, so it's smaller than what the one my mom had in assisted living prior to this place. It is OK; it fits the bill. The food looked nice, and it looked like they had a lot of variety on the menu. The grounds looked well-kept. They had some crafts, and they had different games. There were some people playing cornhole when we arrived. I only met one staff member who was showing us around.

My tour at Gardens of Statesville & Cardinal Village was very good. I like the cleanliness of it, and the hardwood floors. The staff was very friendly. Michelle, she did a very good overview of everything. She was very knowledgeable, and she shared everything with us. She took us all around and showed us everything. It was all good. The facility was nice. The room was of adequate size. The atmosphere seemed to be OK. We did look in the dining room. It was very nice and spacious.

I'd give the Gardens of Statesville a "five" across the board. They exceeded my expectations. I think that would be where I would take daddy if he needed it today. I would do anything in the world to get him in there. The visit I had was excellent. The person I spoke with was extremely professional, approachable, and knowledgeable about his folks, his clientele, and his staff, and he was extremely respectful, too. I was very impressed. I was not given a complete tour because of COVID, but I was able to see a sample room, a typical room like where my dad would be, the TV room, the cafeteria or the place where they gather to eat, and the different gathering places. In a lot of nursing homes that I've been to, there were people just kind of hanging out at the nursing station, looking pretty forlorn in their wheelchairs, and that's not what happened in Gardens. They looked pretty highly engaged, and I appreciate that about this facility.

I visited countless facilities prior to choosing Gardens of Statesville for my mom. Although it was a hard decision to place mom in an Assisted Living Facility, myself along with my family decided I could no longer provide the care she needed at home mainly for her own safety. The moment I walked into the Gardens a calm came over me. After meeting with the team, (Jason, Mechelle, Cyndi, Holly) touring amazingly clean, secure facility, meeting residents and hearing their opinions and happiness in their voices, learning about the activities, enjoying the sampling of the food I knew it would be perfect! The rooms are spacious, we were even able to bring mom’s furniture so it feels like home, not institutional. The pandemic has of course put a damper on visitation, activities but the team makes every effort to engage residents in daily activities. They follow all guidelines to keep residents and themselves safe. For that I am grateful. They keep me informed via email or phone calls with anything to do with Mom or The Gardens in general. We receive a Monthly Newsletter keeping us informed on activities as well and menu which has so many options available. They even have an iPad for the team to bring to mom and FaceTime family during these tough times! If you are as undecided about bringing your loved one to an Assisted Facility like I was, you won’t even hesitate once you see love, compassion, state of art facility the Gardens of Statesville offers.

My grandmother was a resident here until she needed a more secure environment due to her dementia. The care staff was always so accommodating and attentive to her needs; and the management staff was always welcoming and took care of any requests our family had during the last few months she was there.

My mother was a resident of the Gardens for 6 months. She was at the top of their care list, so we paid the most money since she needed the most care. She had dementia and was very agitated one evening. I had a camera in her room and fully expected to get a call from them. She was NEVER put to bed that night. She fell in her room during the night. Still no call. She was placed at the nurses station to be watched. My mother got up from her wheelchair and walked down the hall, fell and broke her hip. That's when I got the call. Her heart was too weak for surgery and she died. Do you think the staff at the Gardens would call or check up on her, no way! No phone call, no sympathy card, just a final bill. This could have been prevented if they had competent staff and enough staff.

The Gardens of Statesville' staff and the administration were very helpful. For memory care, I wouldn't put it at the top of the list. We were nervous about it because the majority of it is assisted living and they don't have the security setup as far as it being too easy for a patient to just wander out. They're very pretty, clean, kind, and helpful though. You're allowed to have a pet, too.

I have a friend whose father "lives" there. I went by to see him last week after work and it is a pitiful place. The Gardens is no assisted living facility. It may go by that name but when you walk up to visit someone, they have poor seniors in wheelchairs lined up in front of a desk, worse than you see in some nursing homes, and no one at the desk., i found my room but did not see an employee from the time I came in the front door until I left. Do they EVER lock the doors to protect those that are helpless? NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS WOULD MY DAD GO THERE!

I have visited here many times though the years; during my visits, I still see many of the same staff I first met many years ago! Makes me feel good knowing that these care givers must really enjoy what they do and love the residents they care for--It Shows! The staff and residents are always very friendly and go out of their way when I have questions. I highly recommend The Gardens and commend their staff for the love and compassion they possess.

I have a family member that resides at the Gardens of Statesville. It does have many positive attributes but the more I visit my relative the more problems I see. The facility is definitely understaffed causing the employees that are there to be over worked, and I have witnessed staff taking out their frustrations on the residents by speaking to them in a disrespectful manner. Being understaffed also prevents enough resident/staff interaction. Everything closes down on the weekends for the residents. No activities and administration has no plans of hiring somebody part time to keep our seniors involved and active. Too many of them sit around in their wheelchairs crying. Access to administration is very difficult. Those doors seem to always be closed. The facility does appear to be clean and the lobby is very inviting. As you advance through the building however a whole different atmosphere appears.

I am a neice of a resident that lives in the Gardens. As an R.N. with her master's degree and 15 years of experience, I have seen much better facilities. For example: The Gardens will only transport a resident to the doctor on a Tuesday or a Thursday. They will not transport a resident back from the hospital so the resident has to transport or pay the ambulance company up to $500. for a one way trip. They are poor at managing a resident's pain, and seem to be intolerant when they must cope with a resident that is having pain, so they just send the resident to the ER without calling the resident's physician first! No wonder our ER's are so busy all of the time. They are understaffed, which can lead to resident injuries and staff injuries. Sorry I couldn't give this facility a better recommendation.

I have visited the Gardens over the last few years and I can say that this facility is a plce to call home. It is always warm and inviting and you know when you walk through the door that it is filled with love. The residents are always happy and very active, the families and visitors are always greeted with cheer. The Gardens involves their residents within the community and I am proud to say that our small town has a home away from home for our elderly to go.

I love our senior population so I go to different facilities to visit with friends and family. My favorite assistant living facility is The Gardens. As soon as you come in the doors, you notice the warmth and comfort in the atmosphere. The staff is friendly and courteous and the residents are happy. They have an interactive TV that tells you what is going on in the facility each day. The residents are active and socializing. No matter where you go, you can feel the love between staff and the residents. When I go there it feels like your sitting in front of a fireplace surrounded by family reading Christmas stories and sharing warm apple cider and cookies with each other. It is a beautiful place and has a lot to offer. It gives me comfort in knowing that there are places like The Gardens that you can trust.

they were extremely informative and helpful. No hidden issues. They answered all if my questions I contacted them many times and the staff was extremely courteous and polite. The facility was well kept and had a great presentation. Numerous activities for their residents. I would certainly give this facility a thumbs up.

myu mother in law was a resident of this facility for about a year and a half. she first lived in one of the provaate houses but by the t ime she was 98 required a move to the assisted living part. her room was right a cross from the nurses station which was great as she was up all night and slept most of the day except for meals and dances and certain activities she liked. On a whole we were very please with the staff and the way they handled her.Sometimes she was difficult but they always over came her tantrums with love and understanding and re direc ted her to other activities. I would reccommend this as aa good facility to anyone looking to find placement. The food is very good and the activities would exhaust you if you went to all of them. the facility is clean clean clean.

The Gardens is certainly not one of the worst assisted living facilities in Statesville. It is a smallish facility with a pretty low caregiver to patient ratio. The facility offers lots of opportunities for it's residents to interact with one another and to be in a social setting. My family was overall very pleased with the care that was provided to my grandmother at The Gardens. Upon entering the facility she was very hesitant but the staff made it a point to interact with her and allow her as much freedom as was possible. Most of the caregivers are CNAs rather than registered nurses but they still provided a wonderful level of care. The staff was wonderful about keeping us updated on any little falls or issues that my grandmother had. The facility itself is not very old and the rooms are very clean and tidy. The maintenance and housekeeping is wonderful and the facility aways seemed to be well cared for, this probably helped so many residents feel at home.

This assisted living facility looks clean and does not have a bad smell as many do. I am not sure if there are enough attendants for the seniors, and I have heard that there are few outings or activities for the residents. Of course there is often a problem with getting elders to participate. There is not a front desk, which would make it more secure. We have had some trouble dealing with the administrative staff also. The food is good, but there is not an attractive courtyard area, which I feel that residents would enjoy. In other words, there are some other assisted living centers that are more attractive and seem to offer more stimulation than the Gardens, but there are also a couple of local places that are a good bit worse. Neutral rating.
