I had to have major hip surgey. After the hip surgery I was admitted into the Brian Center for rehabilatation and physical therapy. I was only 33 years old at the time. This is a nursing facility so they were kind enough to give me a private room. The food was not to bad and neither were the snacks. The only complaint I had about the Brian Center is that they only had decaf coffee. The activities were not to bad either. Even though I was only 33 at the time I actually took part in one of the activaties. They had a talent contest that the residents of the Brian center competed in. I competed by reciting one of my original poems. Although I did not win the talent show it was a good experiance that I am glad I had. The staff at the Brian Center was wonderful also. I especially liked my time in physical therapy. Although it was very painful and very hard work the PT staff made it fun. All in All I liked staying at the Brian Center. I met some good people. Even though they were olderthan me I will consider thse people friends of mine for the rest of my life. Even if I never see them or speak to them again.

My Grandmother was at this facility for a month and a half at the beginning they were nice and cared but it seems after someone was there a week they could care less, my Grandmother would complain about her bottom hurting her and when we checked she had feces still on her bottom and between her buttocks witches caused a bleeding rash, she never got a bath, her hair was matted, she smelled like pee it made you sick to your stomach she could not walk so it was their responsibility to keep her clean. One of the nurses are rude and he acts like he is better than the patients that are there we talked to the leaders of the nurses and the owners and nothing was done, I would never take my animal to a place like this.

My grandfather fell and fractured his back. Iredell Memorial wanted him to go to their skilled unit but when we seen that the room was extremely small and outdated, we decided to visit the other facilities. We decided to give Brian Center a try because when we went to tour, it was family oriented and the residents were busy and very active. The other two nursing homes had very little activity going on. We saw most of the residents in their rooms. I am so happy we made this choice. My grandfather received good nursing care, great therapy and a had a blast with the activities they had. The surgeon's said that he may never walk again, it has been a little over a year since he has been at Brian Center and thanks to God and the staff at Brian Center he walks as good as I do. We still visit every few months because he met some very nice people and made some friends for life. Thanks Brian Center.
