I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The room was large and kept fairly clean. The nursing and cna staff were great, minus an appointment issue to get my dad's staples removed. The food was horrendous! I had to bring my dad food daily. Lots of problems with dietary! When we spoke with Wade, the dietary director, he was dismissive and blamed corporate for the menu being wrong. When that was not sufficient, he then blamed the nurses. When I said, "you mean the cnas?" he said, "well yeah, they're all in the same department." His attitude was very unprofessional. His appearance matched his attitude. He was very unkempt and sloppy, especially for someone over the food for a facility. I asked him if he ate the slop he fed to the people trapped in the facility with no way to go get something edible. First, he said, "oh absolutely! I eat here every day." Then in the next breath he said, "our food is very calorie dense, and I am trying to watch my girlish figure." He contradicted himself several times. There is so much more, but these are the highlights. I asked to speak with the administrator, Crystal. That was absolutely not going to happen. Everyone acted as though they were afraid to bring anything to her or bother her. I did meet with an RN(supervisor) and another lady, maybe a social worker. The other lady said she would file my grievance and update me...still waiting. It has been over a month. I do not really expect an update or for anything to be done to improve the sad situation for the people stuck there and at the mercy of the people in dietary. I actually asked for my dad to go to WhiteOak for rehab. I will NOT ever make that mistake again.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My room, and the entire facility was neat and clean, with a pleasant smell. The food was very good. The staff was outstanding, from the nurses and CNAs and the Therapy folks to the kitchen staff. I transferred to White Oak after a hospital stay for open heart surgery. Three weeks later all my wounds had closed and I left White Oak feeling much better and ready for the next phase of my recovery. My thanks to all.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My uncle stays at White Oak Manor. It is nearby. The staff are nice and friendly. He has a roommate, and his room is not really big. They do a pretty good job on the security.

I visited this facility

The food was very good that we had for lunch. It did not have that institutional taste that you get sometimes at places. The fried chicken was very good, which is what we had for lunch. The place also had a very open feel to it and did not seem as dark or dreary as some can be. The residents seemed happy. The place was also very clean and sanitary. My only interaction with the staff was with the social workers, there were some issue with my friend (not anything serious). They were all very helpful and nice. I would have my own parents stay here if they needed and would feel comfortable with them being residents at this facility. One thing that stood out was that the place does not feel like it is on lockdown or that it is not open to the public. Guest such as me are not treated as strangers nor are they interrogated as to why they are there. Overall great experience.
