My mother is staying at Westfield Rehabilitation & Health Center, and I was impressed. The place is clean. The staff is friendly to my mom. If I had to say anything negative, it would be the quality of the food. It's not the way it's prepared, they probably just have a limited budget for the quality of food that they could order. I think that's why it has a low rating because the food is just like anywhere you go. Even if we go dining out anywhere, you have the food. But I like what I see so far. Mom's been in that facility, and she's on short-term rehab; we are looking for long-term placement. So far, our experience has been positive, but we're in there also. We're so blessed to have our care attendants still assisting my wife and me with coverage, just not as much coverage because she is in the facility. We're able to support staff, we're present inside the facility, we're an active family. We have a good review, and I would recommend Westfield in Sanford. The place is run well. It's professional, clean, and the staff is friendly. Just minus the food, it's a home run. But I do know there is a waiting list for a long-term bed; we're hoping to get in there. The room is cleaned daily. The temperature is kind of cold in there; the air conditioner works very well. The TV is a little bit outdated, it's not the top quality, like crystal clear. It's pleasant in there. It doesn't look like so much of an institution, I kind of like that. The room is just perfect. Now, she is in a single room, so she is fortunate to have privacy and plenty of space in the bath. It's a perfect room for senior care, especially with my mom. She's a little on the heavy side and she does have an oxygen machine. PTs coming in there once and twice a day. There's a refrigerator in there, and they clean the bed. She's on steady oxygen, and the CPAP machine. She needs full assistance with transfer from bed, to a chair, and the toilet. We haven't had any issues so far since our admission. I have doubts about these ratings sometimes; most people will run away from the place if you see a one-star compared to other facilities. But we liked what we saw, and we're present there. We're putting in eight hours a day in this facility so we could see what's going on at different hours, too. It's great to get here to all the protocols, especially with the COVID; sign in, sign out with the mask. My mother is in quarantine for 14 days for new admission, that's the procedure. We're very happy with the professionalism, the cleanliness, the attitude, and the care that my mom's given. We're very thankful to be there. The only negative again would be the food. So, that would be the only kicker. The food is not a five, but I don't want to give a wrong impression like everything's perfect; nothing's perfect, so to speak. More and more important, food is food. Eat, it goes in, goes out. But with care, that's something you're always going to remember. How people speak to and treat you, that's what you are going to remember.
