My mom moved into Capital Oaks. I chose it because it was extremely clean, and I loved the fact that the property managers lived on the property. There's at least one person on the staff that my mother said was not friendly and was kind of rude. But for the most part, the staff there is great. I've tried their food and I think it's good. They have a beautiful movie theater. They offer different activities for the residents like bingo. It's a very, very nice facility.

Capital Oaks was great. They even have a Koi pond inside. I really liked it. The apartments he showed me were really nice and big. Brett was very knowledgeable, explaining things very well. I liked him. I also met Rachel and Stephanie in the dining hall. Everybody just seemed nice and friendly. The food was great. They had pork potato soup and it was delicious. It was on top of my list.

My dad is at Capital Oaks and overall it's been a good experience. However, a recent incident has us concerned that the corporate office is not being as considerate as they should be to the residents. Recently, a corporate manager visited, and was unhappy with a quilt that was created by a resident and displayed on a wall (this tradition goes back several years and the residents and guests enjoy this nice touch to the décor). Apparently it's not the policy of Resort Lifestyle to allow for this, but the immediate decision to remove the quilt seems arbitrary and petty. There's now just a scruffy, empty wall. Several residents have sent letters of complaint, but as far as I know, none have been answered. Either there should be a thoughtful explanation of this action, or there should be some flexibility! There are good things happening at Capital Oaks and several nice staff, but unfortunately this action from the corporate side has us concerned. Its a little harder to recommend Capital Oaks to others with this erratic decision making. What will they change after the next visit?

I went to Capital Oaks yesterday. It was a nice environment. The room that I went into was perfectly big enough, clean, and provided all our needs. The dining area was perfect. It was a nice, friendly social atmosphere. Everything was clean. They have Zumba, exercise classes, a movie theater, group tours, games, and reading. They have a library for reading. Those are the things that I like. The staff that I met were friendly. They responded to my questions. The director was very friendly and very open.

Capital Oaks was very lively and energetic. Both the staff and residents were engaged to each other. It seemed like a real family feel. I saw a one-bedroom apartment and to me, I've seen better layouts. They provide transportation and various health services (like a drug/gift store if you need some things). The one thing that I didn't like was that their meals were cafeteria style versus having someone to wait on you and take your order and then bring it to you.

I loved Capital Oaks. It's an independent living and it was very, very welcoming, very clean, and very pretty. The apartments weren't as updated as I thought they would be, but they were nice, clean, and comfortable-looking. The staff who assisted me during the tour was excellent. They answered all the questions I had and they gave me all the information I needed. They knew their stuff and they knew the facility. They went into all the activities, the transportation, and all that so they did a great job touring me. Their dining area was pretty but I didn't taste the food. I saw a library, a fitness room, and there was a pool. One thing I also noticed with them is the exceptional follow-up.

I love Capital Oaks. The staff was extremely friendly, answered all of my questions, took me around the whole building, and showed me all the benefits. They had ice cream all day long. They not only had ice cream, but if you were really hungry during the middle of the day, they had a refrigerated section that you can just go pull something from. Food is included. They had rooms for singles and rooms for doubles. They had two sizes for singles. The room was really beautiful and big enough for what I needed. It's around 700 or 800 square feet, so it's plenty of space for one person. They had a library, a common room where they show movies, and trips to doctors and shopping. They had a contract with a pharmacy in Raleigh. They had a separate little room set aside so that you could go in during the day if you needed aspirin or anything, over-the-counter medicine, or supplies. You could also have the pharmacy drop off your medication there and they have a person from the pharmacy that's there at certain hours, so you didn't have to go out for medication. They gave me some passes to come in at a later time to have a meal, which was very nice. It has a very nice environment. It's modern and upscale. They have 35 units across the country and they reserve a room in each of those units so that if you were traveling to that city, you could go and stay at the sister facility at no cost.

Capital Oaks is our first choice. What impressed us most was the social atmosphere. We were there during lunchtime and we were able to meet and mingle with a lot of the residents. The rooms were fine as far as their size and layout. The tour, amenities and everything else were good but the availability was not there.

Capital Oaks is a beautiful community. They have nice open areas and a nice dining setup. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The location was decent and the grounds are beautiful. Everything was well-kept and the place had a lot of light. The food we had was very good.

Capital Oaks was brand-new, it was very nice, and it was beautiful. There were a lot of people in the lobby, and they're all well-dressed and looked happy. It was more upscale, and out of my budget.

Capital Oaks had everything that we would be interested in if we were ready to move at this time. They had a bank, a barber shop, a beauty shop, an exercise facility, and rooms for pets or specific floors for pets. They fed us lunch and it was delicious. We were able to talk to other residents. The staff is very nice, pleasant, and not pushy.

Capital Oaks was very nice and extremely clean. It was like living at a resort. The rooms were very large and nice. They had a snack bar and a dining area. We didn't see any activities while we were there, but they did have a nice theater. The saleslady was very nice. The people we met were nice, too.

Capital Oaks is brand new. I met the staff and the residents, and everyone was congenial and friendly. I just like the place. What I like best is the attitude of the staff and management team. They are there to help us. Everyone is happy here. The food is good; they can make a sandwich, and they have a big salad bar.
