My sister moved to Bayview Nursing & Rehab Center. I got to meet the social services director, the admissions director, and one of the administrative nurses. They kept her very active. The cost is reasonable. The staff is very professional and they have genuine care. They don't treat the residents like just any number. They do take a genuine interest in each one, which I appreciate. They do have activities, which I like. I was there to see my sister and she was in the activity room. Everybody is participating. She's in physical therapy and has other activities. Some of their furniture is older, but it's functional. They have two patients in one room, semi-private rather than private, but it's clean.

Hi! Because of hurricane damage my Dad is now in his fourth care facility in two years . This means at 91 he has had to make new friends and leave them and move yet again. He has no use of his legs He arrived on Friday and was embarrassed because he needed to go to the bathroom when they got him in bed. He told the nurse. She got an aide right away who got him on the toilet. My Dad said then the aide took a warm wash cloth and wiped hi. He said that felt so good! Today, Saturday, he said several times people came in to ask him if he needed anything. Thank you everyone for your caring. My Dad is George Brown and he is a connector, never complains and is an asset to every facility he has resided in. Thank you for your most excellent welcome. Keep up your outstanding work!

Obviously thrilled with our insurance but poor rehab. Social Director was rude and insulting! Actually made fun of my need for a cane! Altogether a Place only interested in money.

My Aunt has been in 3 different facilities in New Bern. Bayview is by far the best! The nurses and staff that I have encountered over the past 20 months are nice and helpful. Food looks good. Some of the residents complain about their food, but they do get to choose their meals so I think lots of times they complain just to complain. My only concern is they seem to always be hiring or short staffed. This makes me think benefits or pay or both must not be that great?

absolutely the most disgusting place ever. the food is cold. the residents call bells are not answered in a timely manner. the residents are put to bed in the same clothes they wore all day. dinner plates stay in the bed or the residents are slumped over their dinner trays as late as 8pm. Male resident wonder in people's rooms or sit at the door and watched other residents sleep. staff asking residents if they can wear their bedroom shoes while passing meds. med tech uses pudding to pass meds to some residents. after given the patient the med she eats the rest standing at the med cart. the med tech uses her bare hand to remove a pill from the medicine cup she's passed to a patient. staff stay on their cell phones while call bells are ringing. the medicine cup smelled like feces once. if a resident runs out of supplies the staff will use other residents items such as wipes several residents are slumped down in the their wheelchairs in the hall. I found a resident on the rehab side in the floor. patient said he had call bell on for 30 minutes. had to run down another hall to get help as their was no staff at the nurses station on the rehab side. the hallways reak of feces and urine from the laundry bins. the director of nursing Becky is rude & covers up for the staff. & smells like smoke. very unprofessional. The best CNA bayview has is Elaine . she will take care of your loved one. Karen in rehab is also great and there for the right reason. I wouldn't put any one at this dump.

Bayview was terrible! My grandfather was recommended to go there for rehabilitation from the hospital after falling and breaking his hip. They were rude to my grandmother, failed to keep my grandfather changed and clean and hid that he had a wound that was open and not healing. Then they took him to an outside doctors office without notifying anyone that he was being taken! Terrible experience and I would NEVER let a loved one stay at this place. Be aware!

I didn’t like Bayview Nursing & Rehab Center because it seemed that the nurses didn’t believe my mother-in-law when she said this or that. She had a pretty bad cough of phlegm before they believed she was sick. She woke up one time; somebody was eating her food, and somebody was going through her bag.
