My mother stayed at Compass Healthcare and Rehab Hawfields for about a week. It was nice and clean. The room was pretty nice and plenty big enough for her. The staff was really friendly, very courteous, and kind. On Wednesday night, she could go to church services and things like that. She ate in her room. She didn't go to the dining room, and she seemed to like the food pretty good.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS PLACE!!!! My husband was admitted here at 3:00 pm on Friday February 1 and we knew by 5:30 pm that this was a huge mistake. This place is a dump, uses “agency “ nurses and they are lazy, loud, rude, unprofessional,..The few good nurses and one CNA in particular is overworked, taken for granted, not respected, and should not waste their talents and experience in this disgusting place. After documenting the worse healthcare care experience we have ever had, I discussed my dissatisfaction, disappointment, and disgust to the Director of Nurses, the social worker, the Administrator of the place. I quickly put in motion to have him transferred. When they found out I was going to transfer him, they all admitted they had problems, made excuses, apologizing for everything and asked what could they do to make us change our mind. Thanks to God and a few angels, I was able to transfer on Tuesday.

The contract CNA of what they are for most part are horrible. They don’t care for the patients like they deserve. If you really love your family member you will not send them here. There is a reason they have beds available and others are full. I can’t believe they are still open. If I have anything to do with it they won’t be. Stay clear of this place

My mother needed skilled nursing, and Presbyterian Home is very convenient for me. She likes it. They do have real good food. The room is clean, but it’s a shared room. They have transport services, sing-a-long, ladies that come in, and different church groups. I think it would be nice if they could spend just a little more one on one time with the patients.

Hawfields is a very pleasant place. The halls are light and wide, the staff is cheerful, and the holiday decorations are cheerful. The place appears to be very clean, although it still does have that "nursing home smell." The residents are all known by name to the staff. The grounds are neatly landscaped. The parking is ample, and surrounds the facility, so that even geriatric visitors do not have far to walk to get into the building. The food appeared to be appetizing. The aides are helpful- I visited once with my children and they were thirsty. The aide stopped by the room, heard this and returned with a pitcher of water and cups for them. My complants are that the halls are very long- it was quite a long walk to the dining room, and also the facility did seem quite dated. The TVs are old box TVs, the furniture appears to be worn and old. Also, everything is painted "institution off-white." Overall a good place.

I believe Hawfields was a very nice environment for the elderly. The nurses and staff were very attentive and seemed to genuinely care about the patients. There were lots of amenities including a hair salon, arts and crafts room and a beautiful chapel. There was also a nice outside walking area with flowers and trees. Getting aroujd Hawfields was also very easy to navigate and finding the correct room was fast and simple. Any time I had a question, nurses and staff were quick to help me and were very kind. Most of the patients seemed very hapy with the service they were being provided. Also, the nursing home is very easy to find and close to highways in a beautiful spot in Mebane. The waiting room is also very pretty and has nice comfortable furniture. All in all I would most definitely say I have had a very positive experience at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields and a wonderful time getting to know my "adopted grandparent" and recounting stories of her youth.
