Shaire Center is very clean. They have a very friendly staff and all of the residents are dressed, alert, and well cared for. They have plenty of nice spaces for visits as well as incredibly nice rooms. Each different unit has its own activities list appropriate to them. Plus, they have in-house physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. For memory care, they have games, sing-alongs, and worship services. They were the best of any place we visited.

I have frequented this facility for the last 4 weeks at all different hours and never been in any facility that was cleaner or been taken care of better than this one. The property is beautiful and serene and the staff is friendly and caring toward the residents and visitors. The staff plans activities with the residents such as bingo and though it may seem simple I love the fact that they paint their fingernails and chat with them. They don't even overlook these small things that make the female residents feel pretty. I have frequently been in the kitchen areas and they are clean also. I'm a serious germaphobe so this is huge for me to say. I have done work in many of these types of facilities and this is one of only two that I would put a family member or myself in. I cannot say enough good things about The Shaire Center. I highly recommend it!

My Grandmother was sent here for rehab, due to her condition she was unable to complete rehab. She was about to die. They asked my mother to relocate her. This is sad and curl.

Found many disturbing things going on. Residents left sitting in wheelchairs from time they got out of bed until they went back to bed. Residents being "yelled" at for no apparent reason. Caregivers are not CNA certified

I used to visit the shaire center in lenior 1 or 2 times a month or so with the college and career class from my church. We would go there to sing Christmas songs around the holidays, and go to play bingo with the residents. I applaud the Shaire center for trying to find fun and active things to do for their residents. The inside of the Shaire center is very well decorated as well as the ceiling being sparkly. It makes me want to stare at it all day. The last time my group visited the Shaire center however, Everyone that went broke out in some sort of rash, im not sure if it was because someone was supposed to be in quarantine and not or what it was. After that my group stopped going because it could be hazardous to their health. Then it made me think. If its hazardous to our health just as visitors then how much more hazardous is it to the residents that have to live it. It could cause more severe reactions in them. If it is serious enough it could even cause death. I know for sure I wouldnt want my loved one to break out in a rash all the time because someone wasnt quarentine like they were supposed to be.

Recently my wife and I were forced to place her mother in an assisted living facility. My mother-in-law's health was deteriorating rapidly due to complications from her long battle with diabetes. We checked several facilities and finally decided on the Shaire Center in Lenoir, North Carolina. During her stay, my mother-in-law was always treated with respect and received the health care necessary for her condition. We made sure to visit my mother-in-law at irregular intervals and at different times of the day. She was always clean and well fed. The only complaint I have with the Shaire Center is the wait time associated with their patient transportation service. On several occasions, my mother-in-law was left to wait at a doctor's office for the van to take her back to the facility. They have apparently corrected this problem now.

My father was a resident of the Shaire Center in Lenior. He had suffered a stroke and was also suffering from dementia. The staff was kind and caring from the first time we visited. Leaving a loved one in an assisted living facility is extremely difficult, but we found the staff and facilities to be top notch. The building and rooms were clean and well cared for. The lawn was well maintained. Staff seemed to be well trained, and compassionate with the residents. The cost was reasonable compared to other locations, and we felt it was the best place for my father. He was only a resident for a short time, as he passed away quickly, but we were very pleased with the level of care he received. When his health took a steep decline, they took him to the hospital immediately. The staff was a good balance between friendly and professional.
