My husband, 80 yo, was admitted to this facility after 2 weeks stay at a local hospital for a concussion. We found the staff to be friendly, attentive and caring at Village Care. The admission process was much easier than at another rehab facility. They were open to visitation by family and family pet. Exams appeared to be thorough. Laundry was efficient. My husband said food was better than he expected. We appreciate all they did for us. If we need help in future we would prefer VC. His admission was for approximately 2 weeks. He did not participate much in activities preferring to watch sports. Many thanks.

Mr. Beasley was there for rehab for broken femur but did have terminal cancer and had started to spread to brain. His rehab was ok but not as good as it should have been. Mr. Beasley ate and drank poorly so this impacted his ability to get up and do good therapy due to weakness. Many times I found Mr. Beasley dirty - feces dried on him - diapers left on with pee and feces and you could tell the diaper and feces had been there for sometime. Bathing patients is not a priority there like it should be. This one girl (dark headed long hair) would say I'm gonna bath him BUT never did. I bathed him many times myself because of being filthy. Then Mr. Beasley (only 62 yrs old) started getting broken down places on back and a couple on butt. I showed this to nurse and let them know and see how dirty he was. Not a thing was really done about it. I think she stuck a bandage on his back and said they were supposed to bathe him. No one holds accountability for what should be done. That is a shame and disgrace to let your patients lay like that in filth and don't care. He would be confused and scared and I would call rehab home to have them go check on him. He would ask for medicine and they would rude to him. I was on the phone and heard the person answer his call bell be rude to him because he called for medicine and then called back about something else and she jumped all over him for calling again before she found out what he wanted. When his rehab was over they had thought about placing him in the Skilled Care there BUT we decided to take him home with a sitter and family staying with him because we knew he would much better care at home. The social worker Brandi was supposed get home care set up for him but a week went by and not a word. So we called home care several times and finally was told they didn't accept his insurance. Duh - don't you think a social worker with half a brain would have checked that out before he was discharged. Again, accountability there is none. Village King should be ashamed to treat Mr. Beasley in this manner. I do believe with all my heart and soul that you will pay for this someday. The Almighty will see to that. We all going to get old or sick. Not everyone there was incompetent. There are some good nurses and aides there but its few and far between. The cost this facility charges the patients they should get the utmost exceptional care. If you don't have enough staff - that's your problem and should hire enough staff to accommodate or just have the staff you have there work. I noticed a lot of employees not working to their best ability. Mr. Beasley went home and passed away 2 weeks later. To pass at home was a blessing. He was cared for, clean, and comfortable. Village King Care YOU can do better. The Director of Nursing should be ashamed to run a home like this. I'm sure if he was treated this way many others are treated the same way.

I would not recommend anyone let their precious loved one be a resident of this facility. We admitted our mother for therapy as she had hip replacement and she hasn't gotten therapy but a few times, her health has diminished and she is worse than she was admitted. They do not take her to the bathroom, we requested a bathroom plan to take her every two hours but they don't do it, they let her sit in a diaper. We have tried to move her to another facility and they added a lot of negative info about the family in the nurses notes, which should just be about the patient and it has made other facilities reject her as a patient. Staff and management are rude and almost impossible to get in touch with. In two months we have request to speak to the physician there and they keep saying they will get them to call us but we are yet to speak to them. Visits are not private, staff are always hovering around. Along with no therapy they do no activities either. If you are considering this place do not make the mistake we made, use other options.

My mother was admitted to this place for physical therapy after a partial hip replacement. It took 4 days to even get to speak with my mother, and this facility had made no attempts to communicate with us other than wanting to discuss payment. My mother now has dementia, which was not her status upon going in. I called each day for two weeks asking for a doctor or someone to find out what is going on. This was over a month ago and we have not had any updates other than she now has Covid. We want to move her to another facility, but cannot until my mother has two negative tests. The facility refuses to do any further testing and retains my mother in the same location with other Covid patients. One of my mother's medications did not get transferred from the hospital to this nursing home, which is to treat neuropathy (very painful). I was told that they would take care of this on Monday, which never happened. I finally reached out to my mother's primary care physician and begged them to fax a prescription to Village Care. I called to get an update and was transferred to three different voicemails. Someone finally returned my call after I threatened to bring the local news station up there with me. This is the first time in one month that someone has ever returned my call. Our only way to communicate with my mother is via cell phone. They lost the charger and have not kept her phone charged nor did they offer to replace the charger. It is very frustrating. They only care about the money. It has been a month and I have yet to hear from an actual physician. Where is the doctor that is supposed to be treating our elderly loved ones?

Both my mother and my father spent time, at different points in the year, to rehabilitate at Village Care. My mom spent her final 7 months as a full time resident at the facility. The nurses and CNAs worked diligently to keep my mother comfortable. I came in frequently, at various times and various days, each week. The dietary staff updated my mom's nutrition to make eating easier/more enjoyable. Since Saber took over, I know many changes have strained the employees, demanding they work harder with less resources. Though this is not a 5-star facility (if you or your loved one can afford $5k/month, good for you), the people made my mother's long stay a good one.

Anyone who puts a family member in this place must beware. The staff will take advantage of the patient. They baby them and whisper things to them about the family not caring about them, all in order to get their hands on the patient's money. I am a member of the family of someone who experienced this.

Although there are some caring employees at Village Care of King, overall this facility is far less than adequate for care of elderly patients with medical needs. There are far too many patients per nurse, and third shift is an absolute nightmare. My mother is not being cared for by qualified medical professionals. Her medications have not been monitored carefully, and, despite the fact that I am in and out at least twice a day, mistakes with her medication and wound care are continuously made. I would definitely not recommend this facility to anyone who's loved one has medical needs.

Every time that I go in to Village Care, everyone of the staff are always working. Always! I have been in during all different hours and it is always the same. The Nurses and NA's are constantly on the move. They are super friendly. The Social Workers and the intake administrator are awesome! I feel very comfortable leaving my mother in law here.

The only way you know how bad this place is, is to visit often and stay awhile. It is not a clean place. They do not keep the patients clean. They do not keep the beds clean. The do not consider the patients when preparing meals. They cook to many meals that are very hard for elderly people to eat and most of the food does not taste good. They don't give meds. properly. They falsely give meds. or give them at the wrong times or not at all. They get their fresh water out of the bathroom sink. Come stay awhile and visit your loved ones. See how good this place is!

Village Care just didn’t seem as friendly, and it’s an older place. The atmosphere was pretty good.

I was not impressed with The Village Care of King. My dad stayed there for two days. The rooms were very small and had limited storage and space. The nurses were friendly but not very accommodating. I liked the activities available.

My mom has been in Village Care of King for almost a year now. We like that it has a high rating, it's clean, and the people are nice. They have a good activities director who also does the rehab.

After visiting several facilities in the area, I will have to say Village Care is "Hands down" the best I have seen. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The place smelled and looked very clean. I will be placing my mom here soon.
