Words of expressions can not begin to tell you how grateful and thankful I am with the service and love that you've shown to Mozell and I during his stay at Carolina Rivers. The CNA's, nurses and the therapy team were all on target. I sat there from 8 to 7 daily. I saw the workers diligently while working with loving and sincere care. I will recommend anyone who is seeking a nursing home for there love ones to seek out carolina rivers. Again I am truly thankful and grateful for all that you do.

My mom was was a resident for 4 years. She has a stroke lying in her bed. I let nurse know something was not right. They said it was a pain pill she was given. Sadly it wasn't. I was so upset the director of nursing came to check her out and she said she did not look good and was going to call rescue squad. In mean time the CNA ask us to step out for her to change and get her ready to go go out to hospital. When paramedics got there she she smells like urine. The CNA had not changed her just place a dry pull up on top of the one she had on. The paramedics continue to ask because of the smell. Before they could leave the nursing home grounds paramedics had to change her and was stunned because her pull up had not been changed and had urine and dodo all up and down back, all in private parts that had dried. They cleaned her enough to get her to hospital and then the ER nurse finished cleaning her. They were so upset. Rescue and hospital made documentation of the issue. This was not the first time this had happen. They have good staff and those that are not are very sorry. I do not like being lied to by a CNA taking care of my mom. My moms pasted away the next. My heart was so sad she was in this condition on her death bed.

This is a nasty facility, the nurses are rude, and the front office personnel are inept. My father in law needed to apply for Medicaid and paperwork was needed from the financial people to be sent to DSS. They promised me three times the paperwork was in process, that was two months ago! Don't put your family here if you can avoid it.

I visited a relative here and my first impression was of the front door. I guess it is a regular smoking area because the smell of smoke was extremely strong. We continued inside and down several hallways where the odor became almost unbearable. Please keep in mind that I grew up in a farm environment and am used to "smells" so I am not overly sensitive to odors that others might find offensive, but the odor at this facility was so strong that I felt the need to shower after I left. While there we pushed the assistance button and it took well over 30 minutes to receive even an acknowledgment. If a resident had needed immediate assistance for an emergency they would be out of luck. When staff members did arrive they weren't just unfriendly, they were downright hateful. The furniture in the room was filthy and the walls were all dirty and peeling. I am very disturbed by having someone that I know in this facility!

The staff and residents interact with each other as if they are family. The staff are very friendly and helpful and you can see how much they care about the people that live there. The building smelled really nice, not like the other facility. Everyone was so nice. I trust the staff to take of my family member without hesitation. My family member has been in there almost 8 years now and I wouldn't change that for anything.

I have never had any contact with the provider. I just observed my surroundings. The staff aren't all that helpful or friendly. The residents have bedsores on top of bedsores. The facility smells of urine and feces. They feed them in a hurry so some don't get all of their food. I would never put my family member in there. I think its all about the money. They aren't concerned about the residents. As long as the company is receiving a check from the state every month then the residents don't matter.
