The room my friend is in is dirty and smells.I feel she is not getting the proper rehab.for her stroke. She has been laying in soiled diapers for long periods.her bedding is dirty like it has not been changed in months.the staff and therapy are not making her do the rehab if she tells them no they leave they don't explain what they are trying to do.she says they are mean to her and hurt her.I am very disappointed in the care she is receiving and the unsanitary conditions of the room.and poor care of the residence. You need to do better care.and hire better skilled nurses.

My brother was a resident at Brian Center for nearly 9 years with a progressive illness. The staff took care of him every step of the way with professionalism. They maintained close communication with me and always showed a caring attitude towards my brother. I would highly recommend them and wish to thank them for their service to him.

Super friendly and caring staff: Ashley (the case manager/ social worker), Jess (the Occupational Therapist), the dietitian, and countless others. I called the staff very often & they provided detailed information about my mother, which was comforting for me, because I lived outside of the state. My mother stayed at this center for 3 weeks; and I was able to: bring her “comfort food from grocery stores”, as well as do “window visits” (talk to her outside of her room; no one can go inside of the center, due to the current pandemic). My mother was released a few days ago, and all of the guidance that the staff has given me, I took notes and am currently applying it to continue to support my mother’s needs. I would recommend this center/location to anyone. :-)

I wish we had never decided to send my Grandmother to this facility. Communication is horrible, especially during covid. The residents don't have a phone in their rooms. They have to share a phone. A phone that's probably not cleaned between patients because they pick it up and carry straight to the other patient. It often takes hours to get through. My Grandmother wore the the same outfit twice in a row because they can't find her clothes. My Mom was talked to ugly on the phone when trying to find out where my Grandmother's clothes were. The lady on the other end didn't realize my Mom could hear her and said, "I really don't care." They were supposed to take my Grandmother to an appointment and took it upon themselves to not take her; did not notify the family or her doctor, just no showed. My Grandmother's doctor was NEVER consulted prior to deciding not to take her to a critical appointment. And the last straw was a rude employee hung up on my Mom when she was trying to find out where my Grandmother's clothes were. My Mom called me in tears, so we will be bringing her home for rehab. Please think twice before taking your loved one there.

This is the worst nursing home I have ever seen. Disgusting rooms, no comforts offered whatsoever. People laying in soiled garments with empty food trays and dirty bedding. I felt like I was in a mental hospital from the 50’s when health facilities were not regulated

Definitely not a fancy place, but what matters is the super caring staff. Every effort to care for my mom as an individual has been made. I have really appreciated the constant communications from the staff keeping me informed of changes, etc. Many thanks to everyone at the Bryan Center!

My brother just left this place last week. He was on 100 hall and the staff took great care of him. I have tons of family in the area and we came everyday to see my brother, everyday the staff was kind and helpful to answer any questions. Thank you to the Brian Center for all that you did for him. He was only there a couple of weeks and was able to go home after rehab for a stroke. The room was clean and like I said the staff was kind and helpful

If you are looking for luxury in the rooms, go somewhere else. However, if you want to have a caring professional staff, this is the place for you or a loved one. As a resident you are treated like family and I could have sworn that grandma was in the kitchen cooking. There is an activity center for bingo, and various games, etc. The facility is located in a pastoral setting with the ability to enjoy being outside with supervision. Finally, if you are looking for a place where you will be treated with dignity and respect, this is where you want to be.

I am so happy with this facility. My family member was in a facility in Elizabeth City and was not cared for. The Brian center has exceeded my expectations. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. My family member had a wound from the other facility and after being in the Brain center for a week it was so much better. I would recommend this facility to others.

The place is filthy and the employees don't know what their doing! Just having hip surgery they put me in a sling to weigh me and shouldn't have. Finally got one pain pill today that belonged to another patient because that's all they had! I was suppose to be evaluated with in 24 hours for medicare but, that didn't happen either. The place is frightening!

Do not trust this facility with your love ones if you can help it. My family members was sent to this awful place and ended up being admitted into emergency room for extreme dehydration. The staff was rude and very disrespectful to us. They do not take care of sanitary conditions there. Don't even get me started on the facility director Wendy, very rude and could care a less about what happened to our love one they were supposed to be caring for. DON'T TRUST THIS PLACE!

I visit the Brian center alot. My great grandmother is very special to me so I want to make sure she is fine. The facility is run down and simply not up to standards. The residents smell (the entire building does) as if they are not changed or bathed properly. Every visit to my grandmother's room and I have to request her be changed and bathed. The facilities do however have great activities. A entertainment room that live musicians play in and the residents can play bingo. Also, there is a beauty center to give hairstyles and manicures to residents. I simply love seeing the smiles the staff puts on my grandmother's face but the hygiene there is terrible. I have tried looking into better nursing homes, but the Brian Center is all my money will allow me to budget. All in all the Brian Center will do if you stay on top of things. I love helping improve facilities for the old and disabled. I am a active member in my community.
