My mom is a resident of Heartland Living & Rehabilitation. I would say that the staff there is excellent. Just great people. I was there last year, and everybody there was great and helpful. They're always asking their questions if they need anything. They're on top of it. Especially her social worker, Carolyn, is just a wonderful woman. She is just great. She is on top of it. The nursing home is older, but it was clean. I didn't see anything really out of place. I witnessed some of the older folks doing their physical therapy, and some of them were in a big dining area. They weren't really eating, they were like playing games, everybody was co-mingling. It's an older facility, but other than that, the physical appearance on the inside was fine, and the staff was super nice and super attentive. The rooms looked really neat, too. The place wasn't worn and torn and torn down looking or anything like that. I'm going to give them a five strictly because of how attentive the staff is. They're just excellent. My mother loves it. They do her hair and her nails and everything, so she loves it. She also loves their food. I think she thinks she's getting the most bang for the buck.

They are irresponsible, incompetent, rude, doesn’t have your love one best interest at all. Brother In law been in this facility for two weeks and he still have no phone in his room. There is no communication, no updates on the patient status, you call this facility for help and you get nothing in return. The staff will answer the phone and then leave you on hold for a very long time (45 minutes) to be exact without the courtesy of picking the phone up and let you know that they are still working on your problem. They have no customer experience, it is evident that the customer/ patient isn’t their best interest. I can only imagine what the patient must go through on a daily basis with the attitude this nursing home shows their customer. It is a embarrassment to have my brother in law in the facility, do yourself a favor and find another caring nursing home that will look out for your love one and will put your love one at the top of their priority list. This is unacceptable and a disgrace to patients who needs care to be place in this home.

The smell is horrible every time you enter the facility. The nurse staff could care less about helping esp on the weekends. Nobody seems to know where anyone is that’s in charge. Also if your loved one is injured and staying there temporarily please be careful because in my experience my loved one ended up with more broken bones and cuts from lack of safety and care from the nurse staff. I’m not sure why anyone would put their loved in there.

My sister-in-law is in rehab at Heartland. I had her moved here from a facility that was HORRIBLE. I was concerned about moving her to Heartland because of the bad reviews I read, but any place as better than where she was. She moved there on a Friday afternoon and I was worried about the weekend staff and was ready to stay with her 24/7 to make sure she got the care she needed. Thankfully, I didn't have to. ALL the staff was excellent, the admissions director, the nurses, the aides, the secretary that schedules transportation for her doctor visits, the therapists,, and facility physician. EVERYBODY was great, friendly and helpful. The response time when the help button was pushed was very timely. My sister-in-law is very comfortable & happy with the care. She was scared to ask for help at the other facility. Heartland is Heaven. Nobody wants to be in a nursing/rehab facility, but if I had to go to one myself, I would pick Heartland.

I give 1 star because less than that was not an option. I called and left messages for the DON with no response whatsoever, so now I am here. I had the opportunity to visit this facility over the last 3 weeks. It was during 3-11 shift. As I walked through the unlocked door I attempted to make eye contact and spoke to every staff member I saw - There was ONLY 1 CNA that spoke to me and my sister!!! Everyone else just ignored us, even when we asked them a direct question, they looked straight in our face and did not open their mouth. I have never in my 20 years of being a long term care nurse saw such as this. Unfriendly, down right rude! The last straw that brought me here for this review was the fact that a nurse!!! Yes a NURSE had the nerve to purposefully bump into and push my sister!! If this is the way they treat visitors being alert, oriented human beings, my heart is much grieved at how the residents here may be treated!!! Administration please get your staff in check!! Customer service goes a L O N G way.

My mother was here until she died recently. I hate this place with every piece of me. Every time I came up there, she seemed so unhappy. There was rudeness, and eyes rolling, and I truly hated it. I had to feed my mother at one point because it seemed like no one else cared. This place is filled with people who seem to be there only for a check. I felt no love, no family like vibe.....it was horrible. I WILL NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE.

My mom stayed here a year ago and the staff was pleasant and plentiful. She had to go back and was there for three days before being rushed back to the hospital. The 3-day visit was awful. Very limited staff and I was very concerned about my mother and her care. She had a broken bed that would not adjust and she needed her head raised to breathe better. It took them all day to get one and by then it was too late. She went into respiratory distress and almost died. There was no sense of urgency from the 1 nurse attending her and it was not until the EMS arrived that her care increased immensely, She will never go back and this facility needs to be inspected and regulated better. I am not even giving all of the detail because I could write a short story. Think twice before using this facility for your loved ones.

I don't know what it was but this place gave me the creeps. My mom has only been there as of this afternoon but I hated to leave her alone. She is very unhappy, Hope to move her asap.

If I were to retire right now, it would be to Heartland. I pulled up into the parking lot and it seemed like I was pulling into a piece of blissfulness. Everything was pristine, from the grounds to the way the buildings were in place. Every single person (and I am not joking here) had a smile or grin on their face. I walked through the double doors and was greeted by an lady who had a smile from ear to ear. She either enjoyed her job or she put on a great show. She explained to me what Heartlands was all about and then she proceeded to let me take a visitor's pass and be on my way. I took a stroll through every turn I could, staying away from the restricted areas and trying to stay out of the way and just paying attention to how patients and caretakers responded to each other. I did not see one ill-manner towards anyone at all. I was astonished. This facility definitely gets five stars.
