Eagle's Pointe was very good. The facilities were wonderful. The staff members were very friendly and very informative about what was going on in the facility, the cost of the facility, and the different programs that my mother-in-law may qualify for. It was nice. We met with one of the directors there. Their rooms were very much like small apartments. They had small efficiency-type kitchens and private bathrooms. Some of them even had little seating area as well as a bedroom area.

We went to Eagle's Pointe. The sign out front was incorrect because it said that was a locked facility for Alzheimer's and dementia patients as well, but upon entering, we realized that it wasn't. The people that work there were not professional even in the way they dress. And then the smell was pretty overwhelming the minute we walked in the door. We almost turned around and walked out, but the girl caught our attention, so we just said, "Well, we're here. Let's look." It's not so good. The smell was not good. People were hollering up and down the hallways, and no one was tending to them. There was urine on the floor. We saw some employees gathering, who we found out later was the manager with the nurses, and they were all in there complaining, so that's not a good thing to hear. We just walked in; they were not prepared. They didn't have a lot in there as far as TVs and furniture and rooms for them to do things. Everybody was just in their room or wandering up and down the hallways. We saw one room. Everything was wide open for wheelchairs. They had their own air conditioning unit in the room. There were some safety features in the shower. It's just a pull cord, but I don't think they have a necklace that they could wear that they could hit if they have a problem.

Eagle's Pointe was nice and clean. It's got the Jack and Jill rooms and it almost looked brand new. They took me on a tour and treated me well. They introduced me to everybody who worked there, like the nurses, the guy that does the meds, and the rest of them. Their new administrator, Lisa, was nice. They also got a movie theater, a game room, two sitting rooms, and a cafeteria that you can go to, which was nice. It's like a buffet style. They got an area outside that they could go to as well to do whatever they want.
