My grandpa was here for nearly three years and while he did not like being alone during Corona, he loved riding the halls in his wheelchair and visiting with friends in this facility. My grandma and grandpa celebrated their 57 anniversary within a week of his passing and they were able to celebrate their love at a prom night where they were crowned king and queen while he was there. Our family felt a lot of love from the staff and we are so grateful to you for taking care of our grandpa! He was able to have his own room for most of his stay and I was always impressed when visiting with the cleanliness. There are no complaints from our family, we will forever be thankful.

Rooms are spacious and private with private bathroom. Food is horrible, and kitchen staff can't tell difference between pureed and mechanical soft. I am personally aware of 3 occasions when the patient has RUN OUT OF MEDICATION ‼️‼️ I have made my concerns know to a number of staff, including the unit supervisor/director of nursing.

Universal Healthcare of Fuquay-Varina is very well taken care of and very clean. They had a big change over in staff. So, you don't get used to anybody here. There are always new people. The older staff is very good, and I think the new ones still need to be trained. They're working hard to make the meals better, it's just not good at times, but the place is very well maintained.

I was admitted to the facility in May 2020 to June. They would not let me leave until the insurance quit covariance. I was isolated and could not leave my room. I was doing everything myself. Little Phyiscal therapy (about 15 minutes a day). I was doing it with ease from day one. I was told by them directly that my insurance would cover all this. I had already met my deductible I the hospital. I didn't think it would be a problem. I was never told that Universal was out of my state health plan network. I asked several times and was assured it would be covered. I was billed for over three thousand dollars. I was stunned. Universal should have disclosed their fact. It's was not like I was the first one to show up with the NC state health plan. I was very miss led on this matter.

Don’t let the looks of this facility fool you. The administrator, nursing director and many other employees of this place are in the wrong business. There is a general lack of compassion and concern and management will lie to you. Employees are rude. They enter resident rooms unmasked during a pandemic. They are unprofessional, one even wore pajamas to work. Worst of all, they almost killed my mother. They didn’t bother to call when she got sick nor when she went to the hospital. I learned she was on a ventilator and in an ICU from a physician at the hospital. This is a scary place folks. It should be completely overhauled with management and administration re-educated and employees properly trained.

One of the biggest regrets I have is agreeing to put my 86-year-old Mom in this horrible facility. My mother died here after only 1 month. She was miserable here. My sister-in-law and brother found it and I doubt they put much effort into the research. My Mom had recently had hip surgery at WakeMed and was expected to short-term rehabilitate at this place. On the surface, the building looks spacious and clean. The rooms are large and private. The problem is the negligent staff and leadership who don’t give a damn about the patients. They don’t answer patients’ pleas for help. I witnessed another patient being ignored for a very long time while the workers relaxed nearby at the nurses station. My mom developed horrible bed sores. It appears this place does everything to the cheapest cost, including who they hire for staff and also what they serve for food. The meals were very heavy; definitely not fit for recuperating patients. No salads or fresh vegetables. It was all heavy southern meals that were full of salt. The staff seemed to take pleasure into denying water to patients. During several visits we had a terrible time just getting water for my Mom. No one near her room and unhelpful, uncaring staff when we went searching for water ourselves. Don’t put your loved one here. Don’t be fooled by its surface appearance during a tour. These are very negligent people. The less they do for you, the thicker they can line their own wallet.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Not enough staff to handle the rooms! If you ring bell you'll be lucky to see an aid in an hour. One two occasions, my Mother was given the WRONG medications! One was not for her. One is given once a week. Thankful she had her mind! Think of those unable to speak up! I am sure their have been deaths or illness with the dementia patients given the wrong meds! YOU NEED TO FIX THIS INCOMPETENCE!

Horrendous lack of care! My loved one arrived unable to care for themself after leaving the hospital. They had a bed sore, unable to walk, and diabetic. After asking the nurse to check his would, the nurse tried to attend to wound with no gloves. I stayed beside my loved one and cared for then for almost 3 weeks. The food was not for a diabetic. They got the medicine mixed up and then when we tried to leave the facility, I was cornered by social worker and another staff member. After wiring for several hours for release papers, we left. No one has ever reached out to see where their patient was or if their partner was ok. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

After 3 months here, my father went from hospice to being up and moving around. Amazing improvement. My dad has a very large private room with private bathroom/shower. They offer activities like a prom, a car show, and daily activities. The Admissions Director Bianca cares on a personal level about everything that goes on here. Michelle at the front desk is a pleasure. The nurses, assistants, front desk folks...everyone has been great.

Please do not admit your love one to this facility if you expect quality of care for your love one. The facility is way under staffed and unless the residents are able to take care of their personal hygiene, don't expect it to be a priority at this facility.

As you know, taking care of an elderly loved one can be quite a challenge. Taking care of a sick, elderly loved one brings many extra layers making it an even bigger challenge. On behalf of our family, we want to extend our deepest and utmost supreme gratitude to the staff of Universal Healthcare Fuquay Varina. We do not know what we would have done without this facility. Our thoughts are no longer consumed with worry over my Aunt Ruth's care. We feel relieved knowing that she is getting a paramount level of care. The entire staff is expedient, courteous and most of all compassionate. Our family can never truly express the fullness of our gratefulness for what they do for us. The staff makes my aunt and our family feel very comfortable and very safe. My mother once told me that Ms. Prosper, the director, made herself available to lend a hand with taking care of the resident’s basic daily needs. That was very, very commendable of her since usually, directors are not, as they say, expected to jump in the trenches. Ms. Ongechi is always there making sure each resident is given the best care possible from her nurses, the administrative staff makes themselves available to address any of our concerns and finally, Ms. Omer, the Director of Admissions guides us through this journey. Because of these factors, our lives can go on as before because we no longer feel anxious about her care. We would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a safe, comfortable, and responsible place for their loved one. Again, we thank the entire staff for what they do for the Hicks family. Respectfully, Velisa G.

I really liked Universal Healthcare; it rated very high but they didn’t have any opening for what my father needs. They were so new that they were not fully staffed to the point where they could handle someone like my father. It felt like home, and cleanliness is excellent. The person who entertained me was very knowledgeable, and the rooms were of pretty good sizes; it had both shared or just single person room, and they were very nice. They didn’t have enough staff in the area that my father needed. Everything was very well-manicured. It was a very nice place, the people were very nice, the facility was just really upscale, and the food was nice. It would have been a really nice location if they could have taken him.
