Brookdale Eden gave me directions on how to get to their place. But when I arrived, there was nothing on that road - no stores, no buildings, and no homes. It was like you were out in the world by yourself. But when I went inside, it was beautiful and clean. I liked it. The staff was friendly and everybody tried to help. After my tour, I took the opposite way I came in. And about a mile up the road, there were shopping centers, McDonald's, and a hospital, and everything looked nice.

The facilities of Brookdale Eden Assisted Living were bright. They had a lot of light. They looked clean and organized. It was nice. There wasn't any weird smell. The facilities themselves were well-manicured and well-maintained. The gentleman who helped me was knowledgeable, friendly, empathetic, and engaging. The rooms were spacious. They seemed well lit and nice. The bathrooms were really nice with walk-in showers. Everything was ADA compliant. Their menu looked great. They only had one dining room, and it looked well laid out. They had a lot of activities available. The residents were interacting with each other, and they were sitting around talking. They were either outside or inside in different groups, just kind of hanging out.

Brookdale Eden was very nice. The people were wonderful. The activities seemed really appropriate. Food scheduling seemed appropriate. I was a little disappointed in the size of the rooms. It was OK for a studio, but the two rooms I saw had no closets. I saw one studio that did have a closet. If I did decide to go there, I would ask them for a room with a closet. They didn't serve a meal, but I saw their menus, and the food looked just fine. They were talking about renovating the activity room. They were renovating another part of the building, but everything was good.

My mother was in Brookdale Eden, and I was not satisfied with the care they were giving her. They let her escape out of the place and she went down a busy highway with a walker. They would call me and tell me I had to come down and stay with her. They had alarms on the door and I never could understand how she got out without them knowing it. They called me up and told me I had to find another place to put her and I had to do it within the next day. When I first went and looked at it before I put mom in there they did not let me go look at the room because of COVID-19. I only got to go to the office and sign the paperwork. The rooms looked nice from what I saw in the pictures. The first shift staff was OK, but the people that worked at night liked to sit in the break room on their phones all the time. I wasn't impressed with them, especially when they would call me up late at night and tell me I had to come down and sit with her. I paid them and that was their job. I felt like they just didn't want to mess with her, that they wanted somebody to come down there and look after her for them while they sat in the break room on their phones. I could never find them when I went looking for them half the time. They kept her in quarantine most of the time, so she did not get to do much activity. They quarantined her for 14 days when she left the facility, and when she first went down there they quarantined her for 14 days, so she stayed in quarantine more than she got to do anything. I didn't care for the room Mom was in. It had ants in it and they made me stay in there one night and I got bit by ants all night long. I reported it to them. They went in and saw the ants, and they said they were sorry. They need to hire older people in there instead of all young people.

My mother is living in Brookdale Eden for quite some time now. I like the place because it is the hometown of my mother. They have a nice and clean facility. They have basic and medium sized rooms. The price is lesser than some of the other communities I visited. My mother likes the food and the dining room as well. They have bingo, flower arranging, movies, and shopping. They also have bible classes.

I visited Eden Estates several times, and it is great. My friend is there, and it is really nice. The surroundings and the rooms are ideal as far as I was concerned. My friend has a private room. There is furniture in there and they decorate the walls. Her son did all that with their permission. He decorated all the walls so it looked nice and homey. She enjoys there very much. They have normal activities like the other facilities around. They have games, watch TV and movies. and things like that. They are great. There is no problem at all with anything there. The staff is good. It is clean. There are people in the dining area that seem to be enjoying their food.

Our Mother is still able to do things, but shouldn't live alone. We looked at quite a few places, but Eden Estates was the best fit for her needs. She says she is happier than she has been in a long time. They have activities every day, including outings that she thoroughly enjoys. There are quite a few residents that are comparable in abilities to Mother, and she has already found good friendships in her first month there. The staff is wonderful, caring and deals with questions or feedback in a positive way. Any issues we have brought up has been addressed and taken care of in a timely manner. We couldn't be happier!

I toured Eden Estate and it was very nice. The staff was polite and very nice. The dining area was nice and clean. However, my mom needed a higher level of care and more than assisted living.

My grandmother has been there for approximately one month. Initially, the center has a great presentation and overall I find it to be relatively well kept and the staff appears to be fairly well trained and interested in the residents. What I do not like at this point is the fact that there are simple specific needs my grandmother has that I do not feel are being attended to. Even though she gets visits from relatives at least three days a week, we find that issues we discuss with staff continue to go unaddressed. To me, they are simply things like making sure my grandmother drinks enough liquids during the week- when she is able to flag someone down for water, they bring her a small cup of water and that's that. She then has to hope she can flag someone else down later and hope that they don't forget to bring her little cup of water. We do what we can as a family bringing her, for instance, a small refrigerator to put drinks and snacks in, BUT I would think that the center would have shown more interest and assertiveness where this example need was concerned. The result of her not drinking enough was that she had to be hospitalized for a uninary tract infection that was at least worsened by the lack of fluid intake. We are sticking with it as we feel that overall the center provides good service to my grandmother and that we do need to allow for a period of adjustment. I hope to report better things as time progresses...
