My wife and I used to live at Providence Meadows Gracious Retirement Living. The people were really good, very friendly, and very supportive. That's the main thing I look for, the friendliness of the people and the willingness to help. They had trouble keeping a housekeeper on our floor. I don't know what the problem was, but we always had somebody there. It seemed like there was always an issue, and there was somebody new coming in. The chef was a very interesting person, and always liked to listen to the residents and meet their needs and learn what their desires were.

Providence Meadows Gracious Retirement Living includes three meals a day, all utilities, bus transportation, doctor's appointments, and shopping. They do not have a kitchen, just a full-sized refrigerator and a sink, a washer and dryer, and a common area. They offer linens change weekly. However, my mother-in-law wanted a full kitchen. The apartments were nice and very spacious. It's a little bit of an older building. The bathrooms were nice. You can get one or two-bedroom apartments.

My father moved to Providence Meadows Gracious Retirement Living. We chose that for him because I felt like I was walking into a resort. He has a one bedroom, a separate living room, an outdoor porch off his living room, a kitchenette area, ample closet space (three closets), and a huge bathroom. They have so many programs such as outings. The dining room is just absolutely gorgeous. They have a library, a theater, a chapel, a workout room, and gardens everywhere. There are all kinds of games and all kinds of different activities. The food is very good. I can eat for free in the dining room with my father. The facility is extremely clean. It's almost like walking through a museum at times with just the incredible artwork and everything. You get more bang for your buck there. When you consider everything, especially the type of unit that my father is in (he's not in a studio, he's in a one-bedroom), we're paying a little extra for him to have that one-bedroom, but we want to do that and I think it's well worth the money.

When we toured Providence Meadows Gracious Retirement Living, we met with the head manager and another female staff. They both led us on a tour of the whole facility and that was quite enlightening. We saw several different types of rooms, a one-bedroom, one-bedroom deluxe, and two different types of two-bedrooms. They all would serve us well if we were to go there. We saw some of the residents that were involved in an exercise situation. They also had a place where they could play poker/card games. There was a pool table and a rec room where they were doing physical therapy. The facility was excellent and well taken care of.

My friend is now at Providence Meadows Gracious Retirement Living. The place looks very nice, very well maintained, and seems to be new. The dining room is like a resort-style cruise, they feel just like you're on a cruise ship. They'll take you anywhere if you sign up, they use the little bus that would take you within a six-mile radius like to any of your doctor's appointments. They always have outings once a week, they have activities daily, they have a calendar, and they do movies daily. It seems like they have a lot of activities like bingo, and cornhole, they'll do puzzles, they'll go to dinners or breakfast, and they'll go to the Billy Graham Center or a museum. They play poker and other types of card games, bunco, they do raffles and they use fake Monopoly money. The staff keeps up his room, somebody comes in there and they clean once a week. Everybody seems to be nice, some of the staff are more productive than others. I hear a lot of them complain about the food, but I've eaten there and I think they're just really picky.

My ex-husband is currently at Providence Meadows Gracious Retirement Living. It's working well for him. It's a smaller community than some that we looked at. It's just a good situation for him right now. He's doing some exercise classes, and he's doing some other things, but I'm not sure of all of activities. Actually, my sons are the ones that probably would know more, but he is staying busy from what I understand. He has a studio and it's a fairly large studio. There's a full-sized refrigerator. It meets his needs, and he's on the ground floor. He doesn't have any complaint with the staff. They're probably pretty good. He is very happy there. He doesn't seem to have too many complaints with the food.

I've looked at Providence Meadows Gracious Retirement Living. It was great, it was very luxurious, with a lot of amenities but it was just unaffordable for my dad. I toured their independent living and they have everything you could ever need or want there. The staff was great, he was very informative and showed me all around. They had a gym, a movie theater, a game room, and I think they have a pool now. They also had a chapel right on site, which was nice. It was very clean. The place is near a lot of restaurants so it's very convenient.

I moved into Providence Meadows Gracious Retirement Living four months ago. It's three minutes from my daughter. This was the most reasonably priced. They offer three meals a day, and you can get help if you want with additional cost. They're very caring, and I have no complaints. There are activities all the time. The room is brand new, so it was spic and span, and the laundry is not in the room, but in the hall. They've got everything you need, like a chapel, board games, puzzles, and Mahjong. The meals are pretty good, and there's always something for a second choice. I highly recommend it if you don't need help.
