I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I visited a friend at Signature HealthCARE of Chapel Hill. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the place was alright, it was nice. They had places for them, like a room where you could go and visit with the patient, visit with your friend, or by yourself. They had a resource room where you could go into arts and crafts, they had a certain area outside with different tables where you could maybe have a picnic. So, it was a nice facility. The cleanliness was fine. It was during the pandemic, so you had to put your mask and all that stuff on, but the upkeep was good. My friend said that the food was good, but I didn't try it myself. Some facilities have this smell, but it wasn't like that, it was clean. You're able to see the staff, and if you needed to get someone, you're able to have someone come and see what you need.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I fell out of my wheelchair in the courtyard this evening. First I want to that the resident’s that saw my fall and alerted the staff. The staff responded quickly and I was back in my chair in a few minutes. I was escorted to my room where I was assessed for injuries and my vital signs were taken. My family was called immediately and so was the doctor who ordered neurological checks for the next 4 days. When the nurse was unable to get in touch with my oldest daughter she called my other daughter and spoke with her. I am so grateful for the staff today at Signature. Also, my nurse did not leave for the day until she made sure I was okay and she redressed a dressing on my lower right leg that started to bleed a little and was sliding off.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

MY mother is at "Signature" for rehabilitation from surgery. I was impressed from day one. The staff answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns. Believe me, I had lots of them. They made my family and I feel that mom was at "home" while being away from home. I entrust them to provide the love, support, and therapy that she needs in order to heal and get back to the way things used to be. I especially would like to thank "Danielle", and "Bernice" for their service which made us feel that she is in the "right hands". In addition, everyone that we came in contact with was very helpful, polite, and professional. "Signature" is definitely recommended for anyone needing services for rehabilitation. Thanks for doing a great job!

Provider Response

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Care provided at skilled care and rehabilitation centers is important to the healing and human will of each resident. I've researched a large number of facilities within the Durham/Chapel Hill area, and none of them compare to the care, professionalism, and culture at Signature Healthcare of Chapel Hill. You are the best at what you do! My Mom loves it here and treats the staff as our own family! And, because of the caring staff, their experience in the industry, and their due diligence in knowing the health baseline each patient under their care; ready to alert the doctors and act whenever there are changes, my Mom (and I'm sure other residents too) was blessed to see yet another birthday although she was given a less than one year life expectancy in 2017. On behalf of my Mom and other resident families, thank you for blessing us with your talent when caring for our loved ones. Thank you Signature for all that you do! Forever grateful, MimiG

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom stayed there in February, and is has now chosen to stay there again, following a mild heart event. This will actually be her third time rehabbing her, so we're very comfortable with the staff. It's close to Whole Foods so we can get me for ourselves and her when visiting, which is nice. I should have written this sooner, but better late than never. We're looking forward to a successful rehab, and mom going home in a couple of weeks.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I think Signature Health Care Chapel Hill is very good. Mother is happy with it, so I’m also happy. It’s clean and has good physical therapy. I’m very satisfied with the staff. They’re very friendly, informative, kind, and they work very well together. The rooms are very clean.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mom had a fall in the senior home and broke her hip and she's now staying at Chapel Hill Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for rehab. I like that they have skilled nurses on site and they have physical and occupational therapy available for my mother during her recovery period. They have a staff member to help her eat and the food is okay. I think she's well taken care of. The facility is nice and clean, but it's a bit old and they could use a little remodeling to make it more bright and modern.

I visited this facility

I visit the Chapel Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina pretty frequently. I have a cousin, lots of people from my Church, and some other friends that are there now. When I go everyone seems to be very pleased with their care. I took my mother there to visit our cousin and our friends after her birthday outing in May, and we both had a great time that day. My cousin was in one of the activity rooms where they had a young student from the University of North Carolina there playing a guitar and singing songs. I think I had more fun than the residents and my mom. I always go around to visit the people that I know who are in of their rooms because of their disabilities, or whatever reason, and every one has a cheery attitude. The staff seems to be really nice and friendly. I have questioned my mother about where she would like to go when and if the time comes that she is no longer able to stay at home. She informed that she wants to go to the Chapel Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. So I guess that says a lot about how she feels about the Center. Of course I will definitely meet with the Facility Administrators and staff before I would make a decision on an admissions.
