My father has been in Parkview Health & Rehabilitation Center for a little over a month now. The best thing about them is the care that he has been getting. He's very happy there compared to where he was before. Everybody I came in contact with and dealt with has been great. I haven't tried their food. My father is very picky, but he likes the food. He is not going to like everything every day, but he has different options. When we go there, the food smells good. The rooms are on the small side. The first one my father had was fine, but he got moved to the veteran's area, and those rooms are a little smaller. It's fine for him, but when you have visitors, it can be a little tight. The only thing they can improve on is the cleaning. In the VA area, from time to time, you get an odor, but that's only in that area. The other area where he was before, I never smelt anything of it. It's not terrible, it's just from time to time, you can smell that somebody had to be cleaned or whatever.

This approx 130 bed facility is closing. The families were notified 3/28/12 of a June closing. The place was virtually empty as of 5/15/12. My Mother was here 5 yrs. We had some really terrible experiences here, including she became so septic with a UTI the staff missed , she wound up with septicemia, had a heart attack in the ambulance and almost died ( more from the septicemia than the STEMI).. I would have moved her then but I am not MPOA. 2010 they had a nurse drug Alzheimer's pt's with drugs they were not prescribed and at least one person died. The facility says its closing for "renovations", and will reopen at a later date. Sure hope not. Now we have lost 130 beds in this county and no one is taking up the need. Most patients went to other counties. Britthaven should be removed from your list.
