I am staying in The Templeton of Cary's independent living, and I'm very happy here. Everyone, including the residents, is so kind, caring, and very friendly. It's just a happy place to be. If you get lonely or down and out, you just leave your apartment and go find something to do. There's always something to do here, which is a great thing. Having the main dining room and everybody meeting in there helps, too. You have good meals, camaraderie, and friendliness. It's just a great place and I made the right choice, there is no doubt about it. The staff is top-notch. They're all just as friendly as the residents are. I think it makes sense because if the residents are happy, that must be because of the people in charge. They all know you by name, and call you by your first name. They're all wonderful. They're all very caring, and ready to help no matter what, even with something trivial. I haven't found one person here who isn't like that, so that's a good thing. I think the food could use some work. I like my food hot and it's never hot. Sometimes warm, but never hot. I know that's hard with a big crowd but that's how I want it. Everything is always spanking clean including the public restrooms all around the area. They're always spotless no matter what time of day or night you go.

My wife and I live in the Templeton of Cary. The facility is only three years old. They've done a really good job of maintaining the facility during those three years. If you didn't know it was three years old, you would think it was a brand-new facility. Everything is well maintained on a day-to-day basis, and my wife and I both are very satisfied here. They're excellent in their services and the staff. I honestly feel like our value for the money is better here than my mom's is at the other place. For activities, they have art classes and exercise classes. They have an exercise room with various machines, very state of the art. They have a pool and a spa area. They have a full-service cafeteria where you order off a menu, and you can make a selection like you were to go into a restaurant. The food is excellent. The taste is good. The service is good. The preparation is good.

The Templeton of Cary is a very good, high-end residential place for independent living all the way to memory care. It's like five or six stories, so it's a very progressive community. I think a lot of folks who are retired are going in at a younger age because of the amenities of this community. They had a lot of amenities and a lot of activities. The facility is very modern and upscale. It's very close to the hospital, so as far as medical facilities are concerned, it's very close by in case there's an emergency or something. It's a brand-new property, so everything is modern, with granite countertops, modern appliances, and security systems. They had a beautiful dining hall facility, gardens, fitness centers, and pools. The director is very experienced, genial, and accommodating. They do follow up every six months to see if there's anything else they can help you with.

The food at The Templeton of Cary is not good and I don't like making a reservation and having to be down at a certain time. As far as activities, there are always art classes, basket weaving, and quilting. There's a lot to do and there's even a swimming pool, a hair salon, a nail salon, a good workout gym, and tons of exercise classes of all levels, but they are raising the rent all the time.

I have lived in The Templeton of Cary for two years now. I love it. The people are nice. I've made a lot of friends, and you can be as busy as you want, or sit in front of a TV. It's your choice. Lots of activities. It's fabulous. They're doing a wonderful job here. It's new. It's just two and a half years old. I like all of the staff. They're very nice, housekeeping included, they're good. They have strength training and balance training. They have a whole gym, chair yoga, there are all kinds of things going on all week. The food is good. I like it. And they have a wonderful saltwater pool and hot tub. They have classes in that and the pool too. They have all sizes of apartments from one bedroom to three bedrooms, or two bedrooms and a den, or three bedrooms and a den. It's great and I'm lucky I'm on the ground floor. I have a dog, and I just go off the porch into a yard. I like all the staff, they're very nice. The food is very good. They've had some trouble having enough kitchen staff. It's a problem everywhere in every restaurant. I think they're doing much better now. They've got some good waitstaff, but I think they could use another person in the kitchen. There's a wooded area, and there are gardens all around, flowers and whatnot. And they're going to put in a shuffleboard in a couple of weeks.

A friend of mine lives at The Templeton of Cary, and so I saw her apartment. She just moved into the independent living portion. It was beautiful. The facility's only a year old, so it's very new. She really liked it, and she said she liked the food. It's airy, cheery, and a wonderful facility. I only met the receptionist, and she helped us check in. She was great and very accommodating. It's a little more cumbersome to check into these facilities due COVID. There is some noise on the other side of the building because it's a busy highway. It's a little noisy on that side. You cannot hear the noise inside, but outside when we walk around the back we heard it. As long as you stay inside on that particular side of the building, you are OK. I think when you go outside, you could hear it more. I didn't see any activities. I guess at two o'clock, everybody is in their room napping. It looks like activities are mainly in the morning, I think. It's a little more expensive, but you don't pay any money to get in, so you have to compare that. It varies if you get a studio, a one-bedroom, or two-bedroom. I think it's between four and five thousand a month. The monthly fee is high, depending on which apartment you get.

We did a tour of The Templeton of Cary. It was expensive, but it was very nice. It's brand new, just opened up. It's got everything, and it's huge. I think it has 399 apartments. I think they charge you the price of the apartment based on the location near the main building. I thought that was a little strange. So, if you had an apartment that was very close to the main building, it was more expensive than one further away. It was absolutely beautiful, they just opened it a few months ago. They have lots of apartments available, you can move right in. So, if you get an apartment at the back of the development, it's a lot less expensive. That was the only place we visited that was like that. I can't remember the name of the person that took us around; but it's like, they saw that we dressed very nice, and wanted us to pay more for it. I just thought the pricing was a little strange. Like I mentioned before, they charge you more for an apartment closer to the dining facility than they do for one further away. My wife is on a walker, so she can't go very far.

Templeton of Cary seems fine. What I like about it is it's directly across from the hospital, so when something happens, my dad is close by to be transported across the street. The rooms are new and have very nice accommodations. The staff is nice, seems to be very helpful, and willing to reach out if needed. Their dining room is nice. He is eating in his room right now, so he doesn't get to the dining area, but the food looks good. I've tasted it and it's pretty good I thought. It's not a huge meal, but when you get older, you don't need a lot of food. I know they got a rehab room with various weights and machines that they use for rehab. From tje outside, everything is clean, new, with fresh paint.
