I come daily to visit my Mom. The staff treat her very well and she is happy here. Its a bit run down and the food could be improved BUT overall the care is reasonable and reliable. They really care for my Mom and her well being.

The nurses did not recognize the fact that my sister, a resident, had been sick throwing up saying she had never been that sick and then a few days later was taken to the hospital with classic signs of dehydration. She ended up being taken to Mission hospital and spending 2 nights there with numerous tests. Final conclusion, she was dehydrated.

The Oaks is rather stark in the rooms, but I did see people had brought in personal items and it made a lot of difference. The food was very institutional, generally not hot. The staff was mostly warm and caring, very nice. I was short term and did not engage in activities.

This facility is one of the worst places I have ever visited. The nursing staff were very rude and cold to patients and their families/friends who were visiting. When I approached the nursing desk to request some ice for a patient's water, two nurses rolled their eyes at me and the other one simply ignored me. The food they serve here is disgusting, the chicken was still pink in the middle. There were items laying out on counters that were supposed to be sterile, needles left uncapped, and trash baskets full of hazardous waste materials that should have been put into the red hazard bags. I do not recommend this facility at all.
