My husband and I live in a patio home which we purchased 12 years ago when we were in our 70's. We feel a part of a community, a neighborhood. The activities and field trips are varied and well-organized as well as done in a cheerful way -- lots of fun. We have had great care when needed. The maintenance crew is always responsive. Since we do our own cooking, we cannot give feedback on that except to say that the special occasion meals we've had are very good.

We chose College Walk Retirement Community because of the location. It offered the services that my aunt needed. Upon touring it, she felt safe because of the security that they have on the grounds. From what we have seen, they offer nutritional meals. The staff that we met was wonderful. The staff was very professional, inviting, and informative. She acted like she loved the job. My aunt wanted independent living, but needed some additional services. They offer that for her to be as independent as possible.

My dad was a resident for 11 great years until 3 weeks ago when he fell and needed some extra care. This place is really short staffed, and Kevin the Manager has been Very Rude to my father and family. He went above the owners to try and kick my dad out for no reason other than he fell and was hurt . Disgusting!

I go to College Walk Retirement Community a couple of times a week because I take things to my dad who lives there. They really take good care of him, and I'm very pleased with them. The staff members are very competent and very friendly. The place smells nice and is always clean, and the apartments are very nice, too. Dad has a room, which is big enough for him. He got a bed, a couch, a desk for his computer, a TV, a nice-sized bathroom, and a microwave. They also have a swimming pool and a library, and they used to bring in dogs once every two weeks, too.

Good in the beginning then they got her money and it all changed. I started receiving nasty emails and rude calls from the head Diana. They don't do nothing for the residents and if the residents need any extra help their first reaction is put them into assisted living and charge them more money. Don't put your loved one here. There are no amenities all the residents do is walk around. The staff clean the apartment every 2 weeks. And the food they serve is horrible. You really don't want me to go on I can probably give you 100 more bad situations my mom experienced

I moved into College Walk Independent Living 3 years ago. I was attracted to this facility because of all the activities that were offered, the cleanliness of the total facility and the people that I was dealing with and the fact that I had a dog and animals were welcome. I found that the residents are very friendly and I was made welcome immediately. The staff and care givers are outstanding. When I needed help with a problem, nursing, custodial or general, someone was there to take care of the problem very quickly. If you can live independly, but just need some help, this is the place to live.

My parents have been at CW for 7 months. It was a huge change from a fairly large house but the access to everything they need is much closer and easier for them now. The staff at CW has been so kind and wonderful. They have gone out of their way to make sure they're happy and taken care of. Thank you for the peace of mind !! Ruth K

I've been living here at College Walk for several years. I like everything about it and it's the perfect place to be. I'm not on their food plan because I have my own kitchen and I do my own cooking. The activities are very good and the people are very friendly and willing to help.

My mom likes living at College Walk! The staff is extremely friendly. Maintenance is quick to respond to issues. There are numerous activities for the residents. My mom enjoys the dining room or ordering her food and eating on her patio. The interior halls and sitting areas were recently updated and the grounds are always immaculate.

I visited College Walk Retirement and signed the contract. I was very happy. I thought it was a wonderful, friendly place to live, and the apartment was small but big enough for one person. The staff was very gracious, helpful, and told me anything I wanted to know. They have a wonderful library.

When we visited College Walk, they showed us the apartment, and they told us what it was all about. It has 2-bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. They will be doing an extensive remodeling once they are empty. The person who showed us around said that there are 250 people there and a hundred staff. Other than the apartments, there are places you can buy, and there are separate units that you can rent. We only went in the main building, which contains the dining room and other activity areas like the library and a big room that’s like an auditorium where they sometimes show movies and so on.

JoAnn and I felt the need to express our opinion of life at College Walk because we are extremely happy living here. We lived in a CW two bedroom apartment while waiting for a cluster home to become available. The apartment was comfortable and the staff surpassed our expectations. We enjoyed apartment ease after having lived in many large homes. The perfect cluster home came available and we jumped on it. What a great move. Our home is comfortable, the neighbors are great and the College Walk staff continues to be friendly, alert and helpful. Life here is good.

My father was dying of terminal cancer. He was receiving hospice services at College Walk Retirement Community. Once the facility decided he was no longer appropriate for their level of care, he was immediately discharged without even a day's notice and no comprehensive discharge plan. A horrible experience for an old, sick, dying man and his family. I wish we had chosen a different facility for Dad. He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery where he will finally be treated with the respect he deserves

College Walk Assisted Living was a fine choice for my father until he required more care than the organization felt it could provide. (In my opinion, the level of care is much more oriented to residents who don't need very much assistance due to lower staffing levels.) In any event, the facility discharged my father and gave the family only 2 hours notice. This is not a typo. 2 hours.

College Walk is right near Brevard College, which specializes in music, and there are programs happening all year long. I love opera and with the summer camp hosting guest artists, I would be living in heaven if I went there. They showed me a one-bedroom apartment that was available. It had a sliding glass door to a patio, and there was some storage there, too. There was so much to do. The distance is the only hesitation I have.
