Harmony at Reynolds Mountain was clean and spacious. The staff was pretty good. There was maybe one person that wasn't that friendly, but that happens to all. They had a movie room and a party room, like a pub. I saw the dining room and I saw them serving, and the food looked good.

When we first walked into Harmony at Reynolds Mountain, no one was there to greet us for about 15 minutes. They didn't seem to know that we were coming. Finally, someone else toured us around. She was very nice and very knowledgeable, but the place was old and small. All they had was apartments. They didn't have any homes. The place was for someone who's 90 years old, not 70, and we're not interested in something like that, but the place was clean enough.

I loved the tour at Harmony at Reynolds Mountain. It was a great place. It was clean and comfortable. They had a movie theater with popcorn. They took the residents out sometimes onto the Blue Ridge Parkway, and they had game nights.

I really liked Harmony at Reynolds Mountain. It seemed more like an apartment building than an actual facility. They also had one- and two-bedroom apartments. They had assisted living, too. They all have their own bedrooms, baths, and kitchenettes. The two-bedroom apartment had a larger kitchen, and the bedrooms were larger. They provide a stove and a refrigerator. The staff member was very helpful and considerate. She introduced me to the other staff that happened to be around. They had little theaters in there for people who go a couple of times a week and watch movies. They had several different libraries, which was very nice. They also had a pub. There were no odors or anything like that.

I was very impressed with Harmony at Reynolds Mountain. I wanted to move in tomorrow. I thought the size of the whole apartment was very nice. I would move in tomorrow if I could. I'm at the point where I really want to be out of here and then to a place like that because it was so interesting. They have a cocktail hour twice a week, they have all kinds of activities that sounded good, and they would take you to the doctor's appointments. The only thing I have a hard time with was because I had to park in the visitor's parking lot, it was very difficult for me to walk up the hill to where you had to go in. My son came with me and helped me up the hill. I think if I'm in independent living and I'm driving my car that would be somewhat of a problem because then I would have to walk up the hill to get to the front door. But I thought the apartments that they showed me are very promising. Everything was there. They had beautiful kitchens, stoves, and refrigerators. They have a patio downstairs. I thought the person who gave the tour was excellent. One other thing that I think they should have had that they didn't, is that if you're living in the independent section, there are no railings on long walks to the dining rooms and whatnot. I think if you're independent, they figure that you can do anything you want. You can live independently but show me a railing on a long walk. The staff was phenomenal. She was very, very good.

My in-laws have moved into Harmony at Reynolds Mountain. The reason we chose them is that they were available, so there's immediate availability and the size of the room. The rooms are more like an apartment with a kitchen, a living room, and a bedroom, and every other place was just one room. It was the space because there were two of them moving in as a couple. They've only been there for a couple of weeks now, so activities are still being figured out. But they have musicians come in and do performances that they've been to. They have a movie theater. Those are the things so far that have gotten them out of their rooms. They are very impressed with the food and like it. There are alternative options if they're serving something that they don't like. We went there for Thanksgiving, and it was great. The food was good. So far, we've liked everything about it. The staff have been attentive and have done everything that we asked. My in-laws wear a necklace with a pendant to call, not just for emergencies, but for any time they need anything, and it seems that they come pretty quickly and have been able to meet their needs. They were all expensive. I thought they would be a much higher level of care, but they've been able to work with them like PT and OT and even in the last two weeks, get them to a lower level of care that costs less, so I appreciate that.

Harmony at Reynolds Mountain was more modern and up-to-date. It had a fresher look to it and the community was more to our taste. It would be a community that I could see myself in down the road. We only saw an apartment and we liked that they had the option of a continuum of care on-site and that was important to us. They also provide transportation. Looked like they had a nice range of activities such as classes and things of interest.

I went to Harmony at Reynolds Mountain. I've seen several different apartments, the library, the dining room, and the game room. I walked around the building a little bit. It was something that would be acceptable. They had some exercise facilities, too. There is a YMCA in the same location and there is a community yoga studio nearby. Unfortunately, they had some G.I. issues going around, so I only met with the manager or the spokesperson and she was really good. She was willing to show me everything and answer any questions. It was clean and new. They could have more social programs and exercise. There wasn't as much going on at that time.

My grandmother will be moving into Harmony at Reynolds Mountain. They have a lot of activities. It's a little bit more independent, and they have three meals a day, which is nice. It's very clean. They have a theater room and a very nice beauty shop. I just like the social aspect of things. I saw a lot of people playing games and they said that they loved living there, so I liked that. I think my grandmother will be happy there if she stays. They have a lot of options of different styled rooms with different square footage and layouts. They're very accommodating in changing out carpet or painting over anything on the walls. They're pretty decent. They're pretty good. The staff is great.

My mother-in-law has only been at Harmony at Reynolds Mountain for a month now, but everything is fine. She's in their assisted living. She says the food is very good, and it's clean. I can only go by what she says. She and other people feel that they would like more activities. She's participated in bingo and movies. Her room is large and nice. The staff there seems fine. There is a movie theater, and they have religious services.

Harmony at Reynolds Mountain was nice, but it's way too expensive. It's beautiful. It's clean and looked modern. Nothing was worn out or torn out. I didn't get to meet much of the staff, but it looked like a very high-class place. The staff during the tour was very nice. They talked about what kind of games are played in the game room and what the exercises are, any group activities or single activities that were available for anybody who lives there. The rooms were very nice, very nicely furnished and clean. Everything looked new. It was nice. If you can afford to go live there, then do it.

I've gone to Harmony at Reynolds Mountain. The tour was great, and they're really knowledgeable people there and very friendly. It's very inclusive, and all the facilities are first rate. They're good for seniors. It's relatively new. They have social options for residents, as well as great food and transportation to local businesses.

What I wish I had known: the Memory Care unit is understaffed. Residents are not getting quality care. Basic hygiene issues are ignored. The reality is that although they will say that they exceed the state guidelines for staffing, there are simply not enough aides to provide the intense level of help that dementia patients require. Many of the aides are dedicated and hardworking - but they cannot carry the entire load. There is no activities staff for Memory Care. The activities calendar is non-existent - residents are left watching TV most of the day. Sometimes the residents are left staring at a blank screen because no one is in charge of even making sure they have something to watch. There is tremendous turnover in the medical staff, leaving gaps in care and supervision. This is at both the aide and management level. There is little supervision in the day-today operations of the unit, which allows there to be gaps in both the care and the safety of the residents.

I went to see Harmony at Reynolds Mountain. It's wonderful. It's small and intimate compared to the other ones I have been looking at, so it could be very comfortable. The people there care; however, there's no outside area available, no place to walk around, and nothing like that. If I was ready to go, I could go there, especially if I needed assisted living.

Harmony at Reynolds Mountain was fabulous. The only reason that we didn't choose that is because it's a for-profit and I wanted my mom to go to a non-profit. They had physical therapy and activities. They have a library, a game room, and a dining room. They're not large enough to have in-house medical staff, but the staff is very sweet.

My parents lived in Harmony at Reynolds Mountain before they passed away. Overall, it was pretty good, but they were there such a short amount of a time, so we didn't really have a whole lot of time to get to know it that well. We had a good experience there with the staff and all. They didn't use the dining rooms. They ate in their rooms because of COVID. They were still having activities in small groups of like ten people. They had movie days with popcorn if they wanted it. The facility was very nice.

Harmony at Reynolds Mountain was very nice, but I didn't like that it's in a somewhat more urban setting. It was surrounded by other buildings. The memory care wing had parking lots, which was a distraction for my mother. The outdoor space for the memory care unit was secured, and it had a patio with a high metal fence. There was not a lot of nature visible from this particular unit. The staff member was very knowledgeable, and they had great activities. The cost was a little higher than some of the others. The dining area was comfortable.

Harmony at Reynolds Mountain had a very homey feeling. I really liked the way that they did their cafeteria. They had menus, and the tables were set up like a restaurant. The dining was very gracious, very classy, and very well done. The staff was very friendly. The apartment was very nice. Everything was just topnotch. They have a workout room, they offer group times where they exercise together, they have crafts, and they have a movie theater in the building. They can sign up for weekly trips out into the community. There's a lot to do. It also is a very beautiful setting; it is very nice. Everyone was very friendly. The staff member took a lot of time with me, too.

The Crossings at Reynolds Mountain was really nice. It was above our price range, but everyone was very welcoming. We had a nice tour, we ate lunch there, and everyone was great. The people seemed very happy and active. The place was very new, so it's super duper clean, and it's very upscale. They have a lot of variety to choose from when it comes to the rooms. Even people who need assisted living could choose to live in independent living and hire their own nurses. As long as you have the money, they're more than happy to work with you whatever you want. So they're very flexible in that way. My grandmother loves the dining area. It was very nice, we were waited on, and it felt like we were in a hotel.

The Crossings at Reynolds Mountain is very nice, clean, and brand new. The help is good and everybody seems to be very efficient. They check on my mother-in-law whenever sher rings the buzzer and they’re in and out even when she's not. They do a good job. She seems to like the food; I haven't heard her complain about it. They have bingo, arts and crafts, cards, a movie theater, sewing, and a gym for physical therapy.

The Crossings at Reynolds Mountain was very welcoming, but bigger than we'd like to have for our own living accommodations. We would like something a little bit smaller in size. The rooms were fine and I didn't have an objection to them. The staff was cordial and friendly. They also offer transportation, which is nice.

EVERY staff person with direct patient contact at the Crossings has been very attentive to my mom & dad. They love them like family and they have taken very good care of them. After living there almost 2 years, mom had to go to inpatient skilled care rehab in a highly rated facility, and asked regularly, "when am I going home? ". Their apartment is a perfect size for them. Some of the activities they participated in were movies in the theatre, wine & cheese night, sitting outside on nice days to read, jigsaw puzzles (game room), crafts, special events and meals around holidays, and the library. Food has been excellent!

The Crossings at Reynolds Mountain was OK, but they didn't have any outside activities or swimming pool or anything like that. The apartments were pretty small. The staff was nice and informative. They had a library, activity rooms and planned activities. They just fell short of what we're looking for.

The Crossings at Reynolds Mountain is clean. It seems to be a good candidate. However, the biggest problem is that they're right in the middle of a bunch of traffic in that area. The gentleman who took me on the tour was very knowledgeable. The apartments looked good. They have all kinds of exercise, fun games, and trips; they seemed to be in good shape that way. I talked to a couple of the residents and asked them how their lunch went, and they're seemed pleased. I didn't talk to anybody that wasn't happy to be there.

Provider Response

Thank you so much for coming in! We would love to have you come for dinner or lunch. We have several events as well that are fun and exciting! These are always open to our future residents! Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
