My father is at Tennyson Court. They seem very good. I can't go in there, but from how they have been taking care of my father, they have been excellent. He has only been there a little while, but they seem very good. For the value, they're all around the same amount, but he is getting good care there. He likes it there. It's very clean. So far, we're happy with where he is. They have been wonderful helping me get him there. Everything so far has been wonderful with them. If you call them, somebody picks up the phone. You're not waiting, and you're not leaving voicemails to people. They have been really good.

I liked Tennyson Court, but they didn't have a resident dog. The plus with the other place was we could walk the resident dog there. It's beautiful. It's lovely. They're rated right up there the same as the other place, but the deciding factor was the dog. They have social events, lovely dinners, and meals. The rooms were bigger. The staff was very accommodating. The eating area was nice, but they wanted the people to socialize within their place whereas in the other place we could sit down and meet with our loved ones. They didn't want outsiders to eat there.

We love Tennyson Court. It would be our first choice for enhanced care. The tour experience was excellent. The facility itself is absolutely beautiful, serene, and a perfect setting for my mother. Inside the facility is beautiful. There are birds and areas for activity that are wide, open, and bright sunlight cascading through. The grounds are impeccable. The staff was friendly and engaging. All our questions were answered. The activities they have go beyond what we've experienced so far with other memory care, and we were thrilled to have had the opportunity to see it, and now we'll be applying for our mother to make this her home. Amy, who is from the business office, doesn't normally do the tours regularly, and she was tremendous. I saw the dining area, I have their menus, and it looked nice. They have smaller communities within a very large community, which is especially nice for the direct care that people get, and we especially like that. Tennyson was like a ray of light for us. It's bright and natural light is everywhere. It's painted in light colors, and it's just so refreshing compared to the dark and depressing facilities we've seen.

Tennyson Court seemed very nice and very friendly. It was a little bit smaller, but it was nice. They had different little areas for the residents and they kind of grouped them together. The grounds were very nice. In springtime, some of the flowers would pop up there. It was very clean and kept nice.

Tennyson Court is the place we decided on for my family member. It is a very upscale looking place. It looks brand new to me. It is beautiful inside. It is like an upscale hotel. The Admissions Director was very knowledgeable, very friendly, and very comforting. She walked us through the building. We were very impressed with that. They have 24-hour assistance, if needed. You can get enhanced care if that is necessary. This is basically what we were looking for our family member that is pretty good on her own, but does need assistance from time to time, like dressing or bathing. The pricing is above average for those places. They don't seem to charge extra for a lot of different things. We were looking for a short-term facility for our family member because we do expect she can go home maybe in another month or two to be on her own. The short-term studio room is very nice. It is furnished. It has a bed, a TV, a dresser, and a very nice handicapped bathroom. It has call bells in all the rooms, and residents can wear a call necklace. They have a small kitchenette in the room, which has cupboards, a sink, a fridge, and a microwave, which is a nice thing. They have a lot of activities planned. They have transportation, and they have in-house doctors, podiatrists, and beauticians. They have everything you could ask for. That is why we decided on it. They seem to cover all the bases. I also saw the menu, and the menu is very varied. It looks wonderful and very appetizing.

I liked that Tennyson Court was bright and clean. The single rooms were more than adequate. It had its own bathroom and a little refrigerator, so my husband could get his pop whenever he wanted if he moved in there. They have memory boxes outside the door, which will help him find his room. They have a lot of activities both in-house and field trips. The food menu looked very good. They have a small porch and one large porch and two medium-sized ones off of the unit. Becky toured me around and she was excellent.

Tennyson Court was very friendly. It's clean and very up-to-date. The staff was fabulous and very engaged. They were doing a ukulele and they had both the assisted and the memory care residents together. They all seemed to be engaged and enjoying it. So, that was very nice. It looked like everyone was well taken care of there, too. It was a high-quality facility.

We're planning to move my mom into Tennyson Court Assisted Living around July. It was friendly, very clean, people were great, and a small community which we liked. Very nice. People were eating and doing activities. They have a beauty shop, they have a nice dining facility, visiting area, and patios. The staff was very good.

My mom moved into Tennyson Court two weeks ago. My experience is very good. It's pleasant, and the staff is courteous and well-trained. Her room is cozy. The dining area is quite nice and very oriented to communications with the other residents. It's very good for someone who needs minimal travel. There are small subunits where everything is happening, and it's good for someone with mobility issues.

I would like to highly recommend Tennyson Court for any family looking for excellent, compassionate care for their loved one. Prior coming to Tennyson, my Uncle whom, I was primary caretaker, was in another "assisted living" facility, The difference in the quality of care provided at Tennyson was astounding. It really makes a difference that Tennyson works along with the family to provide individual care plans. The Tennyson staff really made the effort to know my Uncle's needs, incorporate them into the care plan, and following through with respect and compassion. The all inclusive rate for resident care put our minds at ease. The nurses and aides who cared for my uncle were right on top of his care. At his prior facility we had to beg and prod for certain care as cutting food, doing small dressings, putting on shoes. These things were not done at all at the first facility or there were extra charges. All these things were done without prompting at Tennyson. For example, at the other facility we were told to pay an extra $150 month to put my Uncle's shoes on. This was after he came out of a Rehab after spending the night on the floor at that very facility, They do not do night checks at all at the first place, They provide each resident neck call alarms at Tennyson. They did not do that at his first facility, At Tennyson they do checks around the clock. Tennyson was wonderful as far as care provided, They have family meetings at convenient and regular times for family to bring up any concerns. Not at the other place unless you want to take off work. The rooms are small compared to some facilities, but to our family good care was the priority. Tennyson staff listened and responded to our concerns. Our family was at ease after my Uncle's passing knowing the good care and comfort he received at Tennyson Court.

My Mother-in-law has been living at Tennyson Court since July 2016. We moved her from another community where we did not feel that she was getting enough attention, and she was not thriving. We have noticed an amazing transformation in her since she has been at Tennyson. She is active and engaged again. Her memory seems better, she is happier, she has made very nice friends and the staff are wonderful with her! Every one of the staff know her, from the maintenance staff on up, including the administration team! There are an amazing group of aides who help with picking out her outfits for the day, taking a shower and keeping her room always looking neat and tidy. The in-house nurse practitioner helps correct her medications, and she seems a lot clearer. She is looking and acting like her old self again. She is eating really well, where before she was barely eating and losing weight. Because of the design of Tennyson Court it is easy for her to find her way to activities. She no longer has to manage an elevator or long corridors. The household dining rooms are really nice and home-like, and it has made it much easier for her to make new friends. Her room size is perfect and looks beautiful. She now goes on outings, and participates in a wide range of adult activities. My husband, family and I are very happy and relieved that she is so will cared for and is having such a nice, full life.

My dad was at Tennyson, in their memory care unit. My dad suffered from Alzheimers, and if anyone has a loved one that suffers from dementia, or alzheimers, you can relate to the daily struggles these people encounter. My brother and I visited more places than we care to remember looking for a place that we felt comfortable with for my dad. Some assisted living, some full skilled nursing care, all with an underlying specialty in memory care patients. Our initial concerns were the obvious, good care, loving environment, understanding and educated staff, safety. When we visited Tennyson we were immediately impressed. We loved that there were only 12 people in his "house" and they all had their own private space, along with additional large, warm common space. My dad was there for 8 months. In those 8 months, our experience with Tennyson, and its staff was impeccable. They care for each resident, as if they were a member of their own family. We visited my dad, nearly everyday, and no matter what day of the week it was, you saw the same faces of dedicated, and loving staff. Not to say of course, that in each of the specific houses, there werent new faces caring for my dad, but there was always someone familiar, to help, guide, and teach. The management staff, front desk staff, and activities staff were all equally involved in the care of each of the residents. Tennyson also has a nurse on the premises at all times. She, or he, was always up to date on what was happening with my dad, and any and all concerns were brought to our attention. We, like wise, could voice any concerns that we had, in reference to my dad's health, and were always guided appropriately. Toward the end, we had hospice coming in to assist with his care, and during one of the interviews with the hospice nurse, and social worker, they were expressing to me, how impressed they were with Tennyson each time they had come to visit one of their patients. I told her how fortunate we were in finding this place for my dad, that with him being here, it gave us a piece of mind, and comfort that he was being taken care of, and loved .... when we couldnt. She said to me... " This is such a hidden gem... it's like finding a needle in a haystack". I dont think I could have said it better myself!!

I liked Tennyson Court. It was a small, comfortable setting, and it's all one level which is important. It just seemed very homey, and it was a standalone place, so it wasn't a chain. Everybody I ran into has worked there for 10 or 12 years which to me seems like a testament that they're doing something right, and staff must be happy which means they do a good job.

Michele,
Thank you so much for your kind words and observations. We at Tennyson feel we are unique in the area. Our very homelike design helps residents find their way and make friends much easier. The owner of Tennyson continually reinvests in the community and his amazing care team. We are a very happy place to live and work!
Sincerely, Mimi Piciullo, Administrator

Tennyson Court was too disorganized. They had individual buildings and each building had their own staff. I did not know how many there were in a building -- maybe 12 or 15 residents -- and it was too chaotic. I did not like the atmosphere. The staff seemed too disorganized.
Provider Response
Dear Marie,
We are sorry you feel this way, most people find that our inter-connected households (Not separate buildings) are easier to manage than hotel style communities, with long confusing corridors, elevators, and large intimidating dining rooms. Our single floor plan, with 14 rooms in each household is very walkable especially for someone with ambulation or visual concerns. We have a fantastic team of dedicated staff, I'm sorry you felt they were disorganized on the day you toured, that is not how most of our very happy families find our community.

The rooms at Tennyson Court were beautiful; but they are just rooms, and not apartments. If there were more full apartments then maybe my parents would have liked it more. The thought of being put in kind of a nursing home setup scares them, but the place was gorgeous. Everybody at this facility was great. They have cooking classes, crafting classes and exercise classes. They have outings too.
Provider Response
Thank you so much for your kind words. We strive to keep our residents active and engaged. I'm so sorry our room style wouldn't accommodate your parents. Our rooms, and household model is very different from a nursing home design. We are continually updating the community, and making sure the building and grounds look their best. We do have some larger suites that may be a better fit for your parents. We hope you consider us again.

My mother was in Tennyson Court for 10 days, but she fell and hit her head and passed. She liked it very much. It was very clean and very nice, but it was a small facility. Everybody was very nice as well. Her room was well-lit, beautiful, and brand new. She had new rugs, and it was very clean.

Hands down best experience I ever could've asked for. The employees are always friendly, smiling, working hard and providing excellent care. Their customer service is also incredible. For example, my mother living there told me her room was slightly cold I notified the front desk, by the time i was back had walked her back to her room there was already a maintenance man there tinkering with the system to help which resulted in the issue being solved immediately. The level of care simply phenomenal, I never had to worry that my mother was being treated poorly when she was at Tennyson. The building and grounds are taken care of better than or on par with any facility I have ever seen. They run a tight well knit family style shift here that is unparalleled. They have a wonderful popcorn machine and hot chocolate/coffee station at the front desk that my children absolutely loved. In addition they have multiple finch displays with a multitude of birds with many exotic colors that capture the imagination of children and the residents. They run great activities on a day by day basis and throw good parties for almost every occasion from Christmas, to St. Patricks day. They constantly have live music performers come in to liven things up. Almost every time I come into the building i notice something going on for these residents, whether is a priest, bingo, ice cream socials... ect. Tennyson is incredible and I will always be grateful for making the decision to use Tennyson which somehow continues to improve day by day.

I went to Tennyson Court. It was a very nice place to live, but way too expensive. I thought it was clean. The bathroom was very nice. It was inclusive of a television. The staff was friendly. From what I could see, there were some activities.
