Pine Ridge Adult Care is an excellent place. I would recommend it to anyone. The staff is perfect. They take great care of my mom, they are very attentive to everything that she needs, and they're with her 24 hours a day 7 days a week. They live together like a family, and it's perfect, like she lives in a home. They share meals together. There are only 5 other people, so it's a perfect place for her. Whenever I go visit her, she always tells me how happy she is there. When I take her out, they welcome her when she comes back, and they give her a big hug. She's always happy to go back. She helps make dinner, and it's a beautiful thing. Mom's room is beautifully maintained. She has brand new furniture and a freshly painted room, with all the amenities in there that she needed. Any request I have, they take care of it immediately. They call me every other day to check in with me to let me know how my mom is doing. Their food is home-made, and it is always very good.

I toured the Pine Ridge Family Type Home for Adults. It just seems small for the inside and you can't put too many people in there because it would be crowded. We sat in her dining room and we were talking and it's a house. So that's how the whole place is. It's very comforting because it's a home. They made it very homey and comforting. It's better than going to a nursing home. The owner was very nice. I didn't get to talk to her about the activities because, like almost immediately, I could see that it wasn't for my mom. She was in a wheelchair and also, I told her that eventually my mom was going to run out of money and she was going to go on Medicaid, and she said they don't take Medicaid. The facility looked very clean.

Pine Ridge Family Type Home for Adults had indoor and outdoor activities. It's not really what they call a secure facility for memory care. The patients can go outside, sit, and do stuff. It's a nice place. There's nothing bad that I could see about it. But we're particularly looking for a level of care for dementia. The rooms were neat and spacious. They have their own bathrooms. Some of them are single rooms, and some of them are double rooms. They have cable and a phone in their room. They have a nice common area where people can go. They had different activities going on every day for the seniors. The food smells good. The staff members were very helpful. They were straightforward and honest.

I went to look at the Pine Ridge Family Type Home for Adults. The woman who runs it is very nice. It's very small and very much like a family home. The rooms are very basic. The woman who runs it lives there. There is some outdoor space for sitting outside. The meals are included.

Pine Ridge Family Type Home for Adults was a private house, which was nice, but it made me nervous the way the staff triple-locked the front door. I understand people with dementia or Alzheimer's can leave and whatnot, but it just made me feel very uncomfortable with the way she just had the keys on her all the time and locked and bolted the door. There were three women there and they were sitting in a big living room area with the TV on. No interaction, no talking, just sitting there. No socialization, no anything, no games, nothing to activate their minds and keep their minds going and sharp. It was nice, but there was nothing for them to do, but zombie out and watch TV. The place was clean, but it wasn't a family-type thing or an atmosphere where they socialize and sit down and talk and do things. Plus, the price was between $4500 and $6000 a month, which is a hard nut to crack. Other places were much nicer that were cheaper than that. They had 24-hour care because the woman lives there, so she's always there. They had a doctor on call 24/7, which was ideal. They had a hairdresser that comes in. They deal with the VA, which is good. The woman who toured us owns the residence, and she was very nice and informative.

When I showed up at the house, Carmen demanded that I use the "other" door. After being in the house, there was no function for using one door or the other. It was simply a matter of control. The dormitories were very small. Carmen told me that SHE likes the residents to spend most of their day in the common living room. I felt very uncomfortable. I felt like the owner was very controlling. I didn't pay too much attention to other details - I just wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Pine Ridge Family Type Home for Adults was a house with four women sitting around watching TV. Afternoon activities and things like that don't usually happen. The staff said that they don't do them because the women that are there don't want to, which would mean that if my mother went there, she wouldn't participate in any of them either. They don't do anything outside the home. There was only one person there, and that was the lady I spoke to. I didn't get much other than to sit and talk with her for a couple of minutes. The facility seemed well taken care of. It's a house, so it has a dining room and a kitchen.

Pine Ridge Family Type Home for Adults was clean. It was very small. I think the owner has six people in it. It's essentially a house and I have inquired about memory care. The owner spent a lot of time with us. She seems to be really concerned and actively engaged with everybody there. Then I spoke to two of the other residents and they seemed well cared for and happy. That was the place we were ready to send my mother to as we wanted a smaller personal place like that. There are no social activities going on and that was one of the things that I had issues with. At some point, the owner said that they were bringing people in, such as musicians, but the residents weren't even paying attention to them.

We looked at Pine Ridge Family Type Home for Adults. My mother wouldn't have been able to bring her own furniture, and the room was small. It would have been too confining for her. She wouldn't have been able to spend time outside. It has more like a nursing home-style atmosphere. There were only six residents. I think it would have been too stifling for her. Of the five residents that we saw there, two of them looked like they couldn't do much for themselves. The person who gave the tour was lovely. She was very accommodating, and she was good. The place itself was kind of dark.

I had a good visit at the Pine Ridge. I talked to the lady for about 40 minutes and she told me her place does not take Medicaid. I went there, but I was not allowed to get into the house. We were talking outside the house. Outside, the grass was a little bit tall. They need somebody to take care of their lawn. She's a very warm lady, very nice, talked to me, and answered a lot of the questions. The building was big enough for six people. They added small parts into the building for two employees who live there. They had a yard. They allow people to bring dogs there, too. I felt welcomed to be there. The lady gave me a very good impression. I did not feel anything uncomfortable.

Pine Ridge is very small, and I didn’t like it. The dining area is nice, but I don’t think they have many activities at all. I met the owner, and she was very knowledgeable and nice.
