My mother has been in this facility for about 5 yrs. It was Tonawanda manor when she went there. Most of the girls who worked for Tonawanda manor have left and the new staff is mostly caring except for a few. Our main concern is that these people get the same respect you and me would get on a daily basis. some of the rooms need to be painted,,not sure whose responsibility this is but on a whole it is a caring home. If you do have an issue you can easily address it with staff. plenty of social activities and the food is plentiful

I toured Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda. It was a nice, clean facility. The upkeep was very well maintained. They have an excellent garden, and outside, you've got a little garden in there and an excellent-looking garden. They have a community outdoor facility. The people seem to be nice. The employees were courteous and kind. Holly, who gave me the tour, was informative and very courteous.

I went to look at Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda. It's an older building. It's been around a long time and with different owners. It has long hallways. It needs some updating, but it would suffice. The staff was very helpful. Their staffing ratio was very low. It was 100 residents and five staff, which is not adequate in my mind.

I did an in-person tour at Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda. I was treated very well by the staff. Everyone was very kind and conscientious. The other one is like a country club, but this one is more like just regular apartments. It's very well kept and very neat. Everyone was very helpful. They seemed to have a lot of activities for the seniors. They have something going on every single day. They have an ice cream parlor for them and a bunch of stuff. I found their rooms to be nice. Everything was very clean. They have rails all around the halls so that people have something to hold on to when they walk. I didn't try any of their food or meet the kitchen staff or anything, but everything was very nicely appointed. Nothing was gross or nasty. Everything was very well kept. They're very upper-middle class, well-traveled expensive education. They like the finer things in life. The staff explained everything. She was very helpful. They were very friendly and very helpful. It felt very homey. The residents were a little older there than at the other one, but I wouldn't say that it felt institutional.

My loved one is at the tonawanda facility. The majority of residents suffer from moderate to severe dementia.... my loved one does not. Although clean and friendly, the rooms are incredibly small ... unless you can afford a very pricey private room . In my opinion, it seems to be more skilled nursing now than when it was Tonawanda Manor . Activities and the staff are very engaging and seem to care about their residents.

I visited Elderwood at Tonawanda and it was acceptable. It looked clean and there are many residents that live there. It looked like a typical assisted living community. I wouldn't say it's above average, just average. I saw one of their single rooms that was set up for viewing, and I thought that the room looked beautiful. When I looked at the other rooms that had been lived in, they looked quite different. Most of the rooms were double rooms and the space was quite cramped. I thought the environment was friendly, and that it was arranged nicely. It was quiet at times and active at times.

Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanda is totally unacceptable. They don't handle people with the problem that my wife has. It is assisted living but not skilled nursing, and it's in the industrial park, which to me is not good.

Elderwood Assisted Living is excellent. I go there every day and it’s great. They get fed, they get exercise, they get lots of things to do during the day, and the people are all very nice. They have church in a different room, but they do all of the activities in the dining area. The place is perfect, and the staff people are excellent. I think it is wonderful, it is a nice place to go, and people make friends and make everybody feel included.

I love Elderwood Assisted Living at Tonawanada, and my mom loves it, too. They have a gazebo outside, an ice cream shop, and a beauty salon, and it's all on one floor. They have a TV room and a backyard area for everybody. They have bingo, movie nights, and rides to hotdog stands.

My dad is in Tonawanda Manor right now. The staff is pretty good, so far. As far as I know, the food is pretty good. He has been there for about five months.

Tonawanda Manor is excellent. I like it very much. My father actually lived there for a month, and his brother and sister-in-law are there. The rooms are big and clean, and there are lots of activities to enojoy. It is a beautiful place, and the people are very nice. The food is very good. It is definitely a five out of five.

We found Tonawanda Manor for my mother. The food is excellent. They probably have too much for them, but at least the food is excellent. Every night, they have some sort of activities, like music and crafts, so they do a lot and they really keep them active. The rooms are very roomy, and they all have windows. They have pull cords in every room, e.g., in the bathroom, the sitting room and the bed area. They have a wonderful staff. The staff has designed what they call emergency pull cords. My mother the other day couldn't get her television on, so she had to pull the cord, and they said, 'Oh that's fine.' I mean it is not an emergency thing, so it works out well. We can actually have the meal with the residents. Also they have activities everyday, sometimes twice a day. They have bingo, board games, cards, crafts, and movies. At least twice a week, they have a group or a single person coming in with some sort of musical instrument. The place is very secure. All the doors are coded to get in and coded to get out. They have plenty of staff. What they could improve on is probably a little better parking lot because the parking lot is very small.

Both of my parents lived here until Dad passed last fall. Mom still lives there. Have also had two other relatives live there in the past. Everyone was completely satisfied with the care received at the Manor. The staff is helpful, caring, and supportive. The residents rooms, common rooms, and grounds are well maintained and pleasant. The only thing that prevents me from giving a five is the food, which is rather bland, institutional food. My mother has some dementia and right now they are managing her care well, but as her memory worsens we are considering a skilled setting with a memory care unit. We are just so afraid that she could wander.
