The best thing about The Village at South Setauket is the staff. They are wonderful here. The rooms are decent size. I have a studio. They're lending me some furniture for now until I can get my furniture from my house. So, they're very accommodating. Nothing's worn or dirty or anything like that. It's just a little bit dated. It looks like 1985 (the floor actually kind of looks that way), but I don't mind it and I know eventually they're going to update everything. Once I have my things around me, it'll be better. The food is pretty decent. It is reasonably priced compared to the other ones. The activities are pretty typical, but I can't do the bingo, so it's not much.

It was a very nice place, but the hallways were narrow. We also didn't like the elevator because it could only fit two people. If somebody is in a wheelchair, it would be really difficult. The rooms were very nice. The staff was very helpful. The dining area looked very nice. They had a lot of activities like bingo, mahjong, and trips outside the facility.

I did a tour. They took us to two different sites within the facility there. One part for assisted living and one part for advanced care. Some of the apartments have a kitchenette. They had a lot more activities and schedules. They have a beauty salon. They have more planned activities, and they have a rehab on site. The staff were very knowledgeable. They were friendly and welcoming. The residents were the same: very friendly and very welcoming. It was a nice experience. The facility was nice and clean. The grounds were clean.

I looked here and the tour was good, it was a nice place to have a lot of activities. It's just that the space for two people was too small, that was my only complaint. It just wasn't enough space for two people, they only have a one-bedroom option. The staff who gave the tour was good. The layout was good, they had everything you needed in one place. Nothing really stood out, I didn't find anything that was really outstanding, but it was good. They had a gym, they had a hair salon, they had a nice dining room, and they had enough activities for the people. They had a crafts room, which was nice, it's where people could do their artwork. They had a little bistro so that people could socialize.

My visit was very good; the salesperson was also very nice. We had a very lovely tour. The thing that we realized we would not like about it was the dining room was underground, and there was this tunnel that filled with water from the rain. It was just so unpleasant, the dining room just had no windows. It was underground. That was not something we were happy with. A lot of the things are in the basement, the social activity rooms and such. Although they pointed out that some of them actually had windows, it didn't turn out to be the kind of facility that we would want for our father. We saw the rooms and they seemed fine, but the dining room situation was extremely unpleasant. My father is tired of cooking, and so he'd like to be eating meals someplace, and that would not be an attractive situation.

I went here and the food was good, there were two aides that were very good. I was going to move in there. It was very nice, I liked it a lot, but they had some bugs. I had a cup of tea, she went to pour the hot water in the tea, and there was gnat in the cup. They were very polite, they served the food, and they seemed very good. I wanted to live there.

It was actually beautiful. I was only able to speak to the manager, but the people that were living there seemed happy. Everyone was waiting for dinner when I arrived there to take the tour. The unit that I saw would have been a joint apartment, but the only thing I didn't like was that it wasn't 2 separate bedrooms. So whoever moves in first would pick his bedroom and the second person would have to pick what would have been the living room. So when you open the door you're in that person's room, and that's the only thing I didn't care for. They have an exercise room, they have their own little post office there, they're own little library, it had everything. When I got there, they had just finished happy hour and most of them are getting ready to eat dinner. The person who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and very friendly.

We saw the independent area here. I looked like a converted hotel, like a labyrinth with a lot of walking. I didn't like the hallways because it was very dark, but the rooms were nice. The staff was nice and very helpful. The dining area was very pleasant, but I did not taste the food, although the menu looked fine. They had plenty of activities if you wanted to take advantage of them. It was spread out. They had a pool, activity rooms, a wellness center, and a lovely hotel-like lobby.

My parents were here. They got good care there; it was just that my parents needed more care. The studio apartments were modestly furnished and modestly set up. The food was good. As a whole, they met all our needs, but my parents needed more attention.

We really liked it. It was more of an apartment type feel, and surrounded by people. It has a beautiful restaurant type eating area. The lady that gave us the tour was absolutely fabulous, not rushed. They had a bus that can go to malls, and grocery shopping. They go an extra mile. It did not seem like any type of nursing home or assisted living. It just seem like a complex. The location was fabulous. She had sisters, and cousins nearby.

It was probably the best one that we saw. I would give it a very high rating. They're very friendly and very secure. They seemed to know all of the people who were in the complex. They're very nice people. I would rate them as excellent.

My wife has been in here for six months now. The food is good, and I’ve eaten there many times. It’s an older facility, and the downside is all the rooms are just studios. You’re allowed a refrigerator, but there’s no kitchenette. The staff is excellent. I know everybody; they’re very personable and friendly. They play Bingo, 21, they go on trips, and they have a movie every night. They have a theater room with a 55 or 60-inch TV. They have day trips to Walmart, Lowe’s, and Marshalls, and they also go to restaurants sometimes. I have nothing bad to say about it. It’s really a nice place, and my wife is happy there.

My father is 94 and always tells me how well he is taken care of. I know when I can not get there to see him they make sure they he gets out for a walk in good weather. They respect his dignity by keeping his mind occupyied by talking to him about things that interest him, like being in the war and where he grew up. They are very respectful of his feelings. A day doesn't go by that I don't thank God for such a wonderful place.

It was very nice. It was close by my mother's home, that's why she considered it. But it was a long distance from the room to the dining room. Also, the rooms were very small, It's like a hotel with a one tv room. We viewed the dining room, it was lovely. We also looked at the menu. They seemed to have a lot of things. They take people off on two vans to concerts. I recalled they have bingo and my mom said it's for old people! But it was a little constrictive for someone who hasn't lived in an apartment. I would want to live here because it's very attractive and pleasant.
