For the last year our mom has lived in St. Johnsville Nursing Home and has/is receiving excellent care. Mom receives personal, professional loving care from the staff. The family is welcomed; questions and concerns are addressed. The staff has become part of the extended family. Patient rooms and each wing is being painted and renovated. The wing and rooms are clean and bright. The activity center has games, crafts, movies, bowling among other activities. There is a gym, gardens, library, and a large fish tank in the foyer. Residents enjoy the gardens in warm weather. A beauty salon is on site. Residents are outside of their rooms and part of the community during the day. Administration is open to all concerns and works with the family. The family is kept updated on all physical and emotional patient issues. We would recommend this facility.

They need more help! They play games with call bells on the weekend! They also have a night crew that tell a 84 year old women to use a bed pan! Because she pees to much! She was told! She's on meds to remove water from her body! I don't give a dam! If she needs to go put her on potty! By the time they come she went already 2 hour wait is unrealistic! Get your loved one home asp!

I had post-surgical rehab here in the late fall of 2014. Like many places, it is frequently short staffed but I found them, for the most part, to be caring (and often overworked) individuals. The food was better than expected and I really liked the fact that I could order things not on the menu such as fried eggs instead of scrambled. I went back this past spring to visit a few residents and found there have been quite a few changes! Rooms have been redecorated, floors were sparkling clean and some of the windows are being replaced. I understand the changes/improvements will be ongoing. The women in the activities department are very nice although I didn't participate much I did have a chance to visit with them. My best reviews go to the physical therapy department!!! They put up with my complaining and whining and coaxed and prodded me into doing what I needed to do so I could return home in time for Christmas. ... My most sincere thanks to all the staff at St.Johnsville, couldn't have done it without you!!! Best wishes...

We are desperately trying to get a friend of mine out at St. Johnsville Nursing Center. Right now, it's a horrible experience. It wasn’t so bad a few years ago, but they were under new management now and my friend is extremely unhappy and we are desperately trying to get her move closer to her friends because she is isolated out where she is right now. My friend told me they are very short staffed so the facility is not running well the way it should. Her room is somewhat comfortable though.

We had place my grandpa in this nursing home to get rehabilitated after a stroke. It was not our first choice but it was closest to where we lived. Fortunately we had relatives who were staff there and we were able to get extra attention and care. the atmosphere is very bleak. the rooms are dark and the walls are horribly painted and stained with unknown substances. there are gouges out of the walls and many tack holes. the beds are very old hospital beds and the floors are all stained. The entire facility smells like very strong urine and feces and in the common area there are many immobile lower functioning people just placed in wheelchairs in front if the nurses desk. at meal times then line people up and down the halls and leave them there until its time to get into the cafeteria. The nurses and aides that took care of my grandfather were friendly but its hard to tell if it continued after we left which was only while he slept.
