My parents moved to The New Burton Homestead. We're still trying to get them settled because they were still downsizing from their apartment, but overall, they're very happy with the people and the facility. Most of the rooms are just a single room, but my parents pay for a double. They just have a place for a bed across from one end, a bathroom in the middle, and a recliner. I mean, it's more like just a room separated by a bathroom, no cabinets or cupboards or anything. At one end, they have a small closet, and at the other end, they have a small closet. They pay one price, which is quite a bit for two people. It's a different price than what was on the website. The prices have gone up, but they can use a washer and dryer and not have to pay extra because they're already paying a pretty high price. The staff was wonderful. They said they played bingo. My parents haven't talked about any activities. We think it's reasonable compared to all the other places we checked into that were more expensive.

The New Burton Homestead was nice. The tour guide was very friendly, very outgoing, and very knowledgeable about her residents. The dining area and the open kitchen were also nice. You could go there and cook communally. I just wish the facility was positioned somewhere farther than on the corner of the highway, so it could have more of a scenic view around it. Other than that, I liked that they were pet-friendly, that they had a sunroom, and a garden that they worked on.

My mom has moved into The New Burton Homestead. We chose it because it was available. The communication has been good. The food is good. Her room is conveniently laid out; it's small and very clean. There are several family rooms. They had a little reading area, and a room where they can do hairdressing and that type of thing. It was less expensive than any place else I looked at. They do offer laundry services.

The New Burton Homestead had good access to the buildings. The owner was very friendly and efficient. The dining facilities looked good. The other people that were in the facility seemed to be friendly. My husband sat with them for a while and watched TV. It was nice. The rooms were clean and pleasant. I liked the way the shower stall was set up, because it had a fold down seat. The colors on the walls were nice, too. They gave him coffee and cookies while my daughters and I were walking through. The owner had already done a lot of updates on the building, but she was still working on making more updates. So, I think it is going to be better.

We went to look at The New Burton Homestead. The people are very nice. The only thing that my friend isn't happy with is that the rooms are pretty small. The staff was very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. They had a couple of benches outside. It didn't look like there was much yard space. They supply everything. It's like being in your house. You've got your own private room with a bathroom. They have a bed for you and a dresser. They've got a kitchen for everybody, and it's not in your room. Everybody congregates in the living room. They all eat together in the dining area.
