Waterview Heights Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is fine. They have a courtyard that we can go out to, but we have to be with staff. You don't go out alone. Most of us are in walkers and some are in wheelchairs, so they need assistance. This place is spotless. I'd give it a 10 for sanitary, cleanliness, and disinfecting. Housekeeping comes every morning and then stops in to pick up any garbage that's accumulated during the day. If you wear a diaper or a pull-up or something that's in the garbage, they come and take it, so there's no accumulation of garbage in the rooms. The rooms are big. This is a very old building, but it's painted nicely. We've got nice beds. There are some single rooms, but I'm in a double and each person has a dresser or pull-out drawers. There's plenty of space, two TVs in the room, and air conditioning. The staff when they're here is good. Like any other place, the staffing could use more help. Usually, there are two nurses and three aides to the floor on about 34 people. Sometimes, there are two aides or sometimes there's even one and that's when I complain to the supervisor. A lot of these people are much older than myself, but there are tons and tons of activities, bingo, movies, and cards. There's plenty to do if you want to. The food is OK, but it comes from downstairs, and by the time you get it, it's not always hot. They do the best they can. The food is surprisingly good. The rehabilitation staff is excellent. I would give them a 10. If I didn't have such good rehabilitation, I'd probably ask to be moved just because it's an old facility, but I'm happy where I am. They just need to hire more staff.
