I recently visited this home with my friend to see his dad. I read some reviews online describing a nightmare. However, that was not the case I experienced. The staff was friendly and helpful. I spoke with several residents in the main lobby who seemed to me to be in upbeat and friendly. We used the elevator to reach the second floor spoke with a friendly orderly for directions and found his dads room to be clean and in good order. His father was in the rec room and was being supervised with several other residents. Again, I found a friendly monitor supervising the group and the atmosphere was upbeat and clean.

My dad was there for a very brief time. It was horrible. He fell on the floor and sat there for 55 minutes before someone came. He was black and blue from head to toe. He was told by an aide that she wasn't going to help to the bathroom anymore because he asked too many times to go. His roommate pooped on the floor several times. I had to clean it up one time because my dad had to use the bathroom. The other time I had to go get someone. I can go on. I have pictures of it all but can't up load on here otherwise I would to show you.

The place is dirty and the staff is rude. Flys are everywhere on the patients. It smells real bad. It is awful. The rochester building never since nothing like it. The pictures online is not what you see in this place. Everyone that work there should be fired if they don't care about the people or the up keep of where they work. My mother been there for only a week now and it is awful. They don't bathe them no hygiene no clean sheets they don't do nothing. Don't sanitize. Something need to be done no one should have to live like this. These people didn't ask to be there. Just think if this was your family member will they be treated like this.

Westgate Nursing Home is nice. They re-did the floors and the walls, so everything is nice, neat, and clean. There are a few beds, which my mom likes. The staff seems good but you don't really know until you have actually lived there. I believe they have a room for library and crafts. One very nice thing is that the physical therapy area has been completely re-done. It is very modern. There is a car in there so you could practice getting in and out of car. The person who assisted me was good.

There is untreated scabies, and bed bug infestation. They are always short staffed, and very high turnover rate for employees.

The available room for my father had a bug crawling across the bed. The window air conditioner was stuck into a sheet of plywood which was semi-fitted into the window which left open space all round it. Any small creature could have come in that window. And the cold wind. The room looked like a very old hospital room.
