My father was in the rehab unit for over 2 months. He thought the food was very good, especially the soups. His therapists were excellent - they pushed him to recover as much as possible and worked on things he'd need to go back home and be independent again. The staff was excellent. He had a single room, everything was very clean. They had a lot of activities for the residents - bands, fireworks, music, etc - that they could participate in if they wanted to. Excellent care!

My mother has been placed in a nursing home at Monroe Community Hospital. The hospital placed her there. The rooms are old and outdated. They're shared. My mother has to share a room with someone. The staff is really good. There are certain people who are on staff that they switch back and forth every other day, but at least Mom is there with certain ones that she likes. They have done a lot of nice activities. They have movie nights, bingo, and other things that they do. My mother needs to be coaxed into doing things. They will come in her room, and they will ask her once. She is hard of hearing, so you need to ask more than once, and they're not doing that.
