Summit at Eastwyck was spacious and there was a lot for mom to do. What I didn't like was it was a little bit expensive. There was a gym, a courtyard, and a dining area. It was very clean. The rooms were average-sized.

The gal that took us around Summit At Eastwyck, Kelly, was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. She made us feel right at home. She knew the other residents by first name, calling them by my first name, and got some interventions with them while we were there. I thought that was great, because a lot of times people that you talk to first, you never see again, but she knows her residents there and I think that's very important for people that would want to live there. Some of them come in for an interview and then that's the last they ever see of that person and they're on their own from then, but not there. She knew what they enjoyed doing. Somebody came in and knocked on the door at the office and she took what they wanted to do and it had something to do with an activity. That was a nice feeling. We weren't able to look at an apartment because there were no vacancies, but Kelly feels there is one coming up and we're going to touch base with her again and then to see one of the apartments. The other thing I liked about it was when we got to drive around the community, we could see the open garages and they looked like they were fairly good-sized garages. The place was also beautiful and the common areas were gorgeous. There were lots and lots of activities. I think that would be something that people would want. The views are lovely. Some better than others, of course, but I think if you go up to the third floor (three's three stories), I don't think there could be a bad view. It's just a very, very nicely laid out area.

The apartments at Summit at Eastwyck are very beautiful. They have an indoor pool, a Jacuzzi, and a sauna. They have all kinds of activities. It's a lovely community, but it's rather expensive. They've got a community garden. I've seen the two-bedroom and a one-bedroom, but we would want a two-bedroom because of my younger brother. The staff was very nice. They have bus services that will take you to grocery stores if you want to, on certain days of the week. They have a van that'll take you to doctor's appointments if need be. They have a piano club and a mahjong club. Every day, something is going on.

Summit at Eastwyck was well-maintained. There were lots of things for people to do. You had places around like shopping. It was a great place. There were a couple of people who accommodated us, a resident and the site manager, and they were very accommodating. The grounds were maintained. The apartments were nice. It's more like an apartment complex. They had one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and three-bedrooms. They had an indoor pool, a salon, a barber, jacuzzi, and hot tub. They put out continental breakfast every morning. They had a nice arrangement around.

I went to see the Summit at Eastwyck. It was beautiful and if I had to go to a place, I would move there in a minute. Driving up, I was just really so impressed with the grounds and how they were kept up. You can tell a lot about a place by how they keep up with their landscaping and some it was just beautiful. There's a pond, geese were walking around it, and the drive up was a nice curving drive u p to the clubhouse. They were expecting me and I went in, and it was a beautiful clubhouse and entry area. They were just finishing up with another couple of people who were also looking so I sat down in the entryway. The residents that came by were so friendly and introduced themselves. That was a very nice thing and the residents seem to really like each other and get along, do card games together, and so on. The actual tour was just amazing. Their main room has two fireplaces, a piano, and a nice kitchen that you can use any time you want. They have continental breakfast every morning and that's included in the cost. I could just go on forever. They have a beautiful pool area and a workout room. They have a physical therapist who's available by appointment and takes most insurances. I got to see one of the rooms, and it's the director's room because it's full. This place is so popular that all the rooms are taken right now. I looked at the director's apartment and it was really beautiful. It was like a 4-star hotel and yet their lowest price entry rental is only $1800. Of course, there are bigger units and more expensive, but I say expensive but the cost is amazing considering what you get. I just couldn't believe how beautiful they were. There were no loose tiles, no dirt anywhere, and it smells good. They don't do meals there, and that's fine for me. If a person can find a place that does 3 meals a day, I'm not interested in that. I'm not a big eater and not a cook either but they have a kitchenette in the room. Even the smallest rooms or the smallest units are quite beautifully laid out and not that small. I could be very happy in a seven or 800-square-foot unit. The way it's laid out, it's just beautiful. You do pay your heat, which is fine. I believe AC is central as well as Wi-Fi. They have great rooms so I wouldn't even bother spending $80 a month for my own Wi-Fi. Linda was amazing. It was a very warm day, getting close to a 90 so it was kind of grueling for both of us to walk outside. The inner building was beautiful though and just the right temperature too. Not too cold and not too warm. She did not rush me in any way whatsoever. She was more than happy to just continue as long as there were questions or if I wanted to say something. I ask the question because of my dog. I said, "Do you have a dog park here?" and I expected to hear a no. She goes, "Oh, yes, we have a dog park" and we walked over and saw the dog park which is amazing. People should know about that because it's a beautiful dog park. She was not afraid to point out a little thing here and there, maybe a minor con as opposed to a pro. I like honesty about something. They do not offer meals, just continental breakfast, but they do have a program where you would pay for the meal, but they'll go out to restaurants. People will sign up and have meals brought in. Three or four times a month, they do that so that's a very nice alternative. I was not able to sample it but it was the typical breakfast of hard-boiled eggs, pastries, coffee, of course, and tea. It looked very nice, there was a picture online, and it looked very, very nice. This is an independent living facility and not assisted living in any way. You have to be able to be mobile, be it by wheelchair or anything else. They have mobility and accessibility features in place though so anyone who can navigate in a wheelchair would be happy there. I'm not sure if they have grab bars in the bathrooms, but the director that I spoke to, the representative, says that they want to install that feature. That's an important feature. They do have emergency buttons in all of the bathrooms. It was just excellent. I can't say enough good things about it and I didn't take just a little 10-minute tour. We went all over and I was looking at everything, all corners, and looking around. You can't ask for a better place. They have a craft room and a card room. I couldn't believe how wonderful it was.

The Summit at Eastwyck looks like a very nice place for the seniors. I think that I would be very happy up there because they've got the clubhouse and all the amenities to go with it so that's what I'm looking forward to. It's close to the shopping centers, and there's one right across the road which I like very much. My doctors are all up that way too, so it's going to be very convenient for me. I haven't looked at an apartment there yet but I've been there. I just had my name in for a two-bedroom or one-bedroom. They have a bus that'll take you around to the shopping centers. I guess they'll take you to your doctor's appointments too, and all kinds of stuff like that. It seems like a very good place for a senior or somebody like me. I'm 80 but I'm still pretty mobile. I just don't like driving in really heavy traffic though so it's nice to know that when I had to, I could probably have my family bring me someplace. I think they have a game room and a bocce court there. It looks like somewhere that's going to fit my needs well. It's very suitable for someone my age who is not housebound and still needs to socialize. There's plenty of stuff down there that you can do. I only met one person, I don't remember his name, but he was very helpful. It's independent living so they don't serve meals there. It's very clean. I was in one of their lobbies and I noticed that it was very well-kept.

Summit At Eastwyck Albany was very nice and spacious. There was room for a lot of activities. It's a nice place, and I would consider it. The person who accommodated me there was very nice and answered all my questions. Basically, we saw what we needed to see to make a decision.

We have chosen the Summit At Eastwyck. It's not available until mid-July, but they were wonderful and nice. I chose this older place just because of the ambience and the location. There are a lot of wooded areas. I like the grounds, the location, and the people who live there. The staff was wonderful. There was a birthday party that day, so I ate some ice cream with them.

I was very impressed with Summit At Eastwyck. It seemed like a reasonable value. I didn't have time to interact with the staff very much, but they were fine. They showed me two different rooms and I was surprised at how attractive and how well kept they were. They have a pool, a dining room, and a nicely done green area in the middle. It wasn't too urban. It was a bit rural, it had nice views, and it's in the countryside. The dining area was pleasant and not too large.

At Eastwyck Village, there's no entrance fee and you get a luxury condo for $2,000 to $2,500. You pay for your own utilities, which cost under $100 a month, and you pay for your own housekeeping. You buy your food, but they have vans if you don't want to drive. It's really lovely. There were three buildings in a square with beautiful greens. There's one building where all the activities and the breakfast is served, which is very easy to get to. I really liked this community.
