Randolph Manor was the closest community to where my mother was located and closest to where all of us kids live. She was only there for about 8 to 9 days. The little bit of time she was there, the staff was wonderful. The community was spotless. I’ve never had a problem with the food; she never told me she didn’t like any of it. The room wasn’t as big as I thought it would have been, and it was no bigger and no different than a hospital room.
What you can do with Caring
About Randolph Manor in Randolph, New York
RANDOLPH MANOR is a family-owned and operated adult care facility certified by the New York State Department of Health. We are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of older adults for over 36 years who may need assistance with some of the activities of daily living or some health monitoring.
Randolph Manor offers alternatives to loneliness, anxiety, boredom, and a lack of care. Perhaps the most important thing we have to offer is freedom. Freedom to come and go as one pleases in a warm, friendly, and secure environment. Freedom from the worries and dangers of living alone in today's society. Freedom from the necessity to shop, cook and clean house.
Randolph Manor is an affordable alternative to a nursing home at approximately 1/3 of the cost. We do not provide medical service to chronically ill patients. The men and women who live at Randolph Manor are residents, not patients. Randolph Manor is not a nursing home nor an institution, but a home.
Enjoy the comfort of knowing your loved one is surrounded by the caring and compassionate staff at Randolph Manor.

I toured Randolph Manor. Catherine did a good job of explaining everything. We have a concern that the facility doesn't have air conditioning. It just has portable window units, and we were looking at more of the private versus the semi. We weren't sure if they could even put a window unit in it because of the style of the windows. My aunt does have COPD, so that could cause a problem for us there. I did like the availability of all the rooms that they had available for everybody to get together and watch TV. I liked the fact that they had a puzzle room where everybody could sit and a little concern that there's access to go outside without being monitored. My aunt does have a walker, and two out of the three of these avenues to go outside had stepped down. So, my concern is that it could be a problem for her with the walker to get out. It's a clean facility.

My mother was very interested in a private room. She didn't want to share a room because she can't get around well. However, all the private rooms at Randolph Manor had like four steps down into the room and the bathrooms were shared across the hall, so they weren't private bathrooms. So my mother was not impressed at all with that, but the staff was very, very pleasant, and very nice. The dining facilities also looked nice. They were a lot smaller, but it's actually a much smaller facility. It was set up for lunch time and it looked very clean and it smelled clean. They also had nice areas for the residents to meet, sit, and visit.

We ended up putting Dad in Randolph Manor, which I find adequate and clean. I ate lunch there and the food was good, but there's no liquor. The facility is like an old Victorian house changed into rooms for adults, so it is very pretty. The people there care very much for the people and are happy there. I see that they give Dad good care. I am satisfied with them. Dad has a double room of his own. They allow him to have a piano there because he plays piano and have just been very accommodating. The staff is happy while they’re working, and you can tell it in the way they treat their people. When I go in and take Dad out, we let them know, so they don’t plan dinner or lunch for him.
