My dad moved to the Arbors a little over a month ago. He is still adjusting to this new and unexpected life-style. He spends most of his day out and about in the activity area and has said the food is good. My husband and I oversee his well-being and are extremely happy so far. All of the staff has been patient, friendly, and helpful to us. We feel my dad is in great hands.

We went to The Arbors Assisted Living at Hauppauge. The director was very kind and caring. The people looked very happy. It was updated and clean, but still needed some renovations. Overall, it was a positive experience, but the facility felt a little bit like a motel.

We went to look at The Arbors Assisted Living at Hauppauge. The staff that we met was very nice. The place is not as updated as the other one that we visited. I didn't like all the carpeting they had throughout the facilities because it wasn't conducive for someone who was either in a wheelchair or using a roller. It needed to be spruced up. The facility is very old, but I know they're doing some renovations. They didn't seem to offer as many activities. They didn't have a lot of outside walking spaces. But they spent a lot of time with us and wanted to know about my mom, what her needs were, and whatnot. They did a nice follow-up.

The staff members at The Arbors Hauppauge were very caring and very genuine. You could tell that they care about their residents. The person that we went with during the tour knew every single person. The rooms were kind of small, but they were OK. There was a salon. The place is located right off the highway.

The Arbors Hauppauge was the best. It was a nice, large facility. They were very competent. They knew about everything. They brought us into a room, and they offered coffee and snacks. They talked directly to my mother-in-law, (not to me), although they knew I was listening. They made her feel like she was part of the experience. Then they gave us a tour and they walked at my mother-in-law's pace because she's older, so that was very nice. They invited us back to come back for a bingo game. I just felt like it was a beautiful place, and I would definitely go there if I could one day, if I could afford it. They had elevators there, and they had different wings. The only downside is that it is really big, and a lot of the people can barely walk. If you're in a room and then the restaurant is so far away, you'd better be healthy or in a wheelchair because it's big. If the elevators ever break, it could be a problem. They have single rooms, but we didn't see them. They were out of control; it was out of our price range. They had bocce and a lot of courtyard stuff. They even had an outdoor barbecue.

My mom has moved into The Arbors Assisted Living at Hauppauge. It's all-inclusive. They do her showers, feed her, make the bed, and wash the clothes. They do everything. The staff is friendly and helpful. The facility is clean, and they're always doing activities all day. They have a list on the wall of what they're doing and what time. All-day they keep the people occupied. They have TVs, shuffleboard, pool tables, checkers, chess, and things like that. It's right on Long Island Expressway, so it's very convenient to get to. Their rooms are nice. They got a big bathroom, and it's like a hotel room. They got a big room with two closets. You can bring your own TV and a mini-refrigerator. I'm very satisfied with it. It's clean and neat. You always see somebody walking around with brooms, mops and stuff, so I would say they're very clean. It seems like there's always something going on. They have their own van to take people places.

My friend was in The Arbors Hauppauge. It was not too bad because these are people who just needed a place to stay while they were recuperating. In my friend's case, he couldn't go home yet because he was recovering from a physical injury and living alone. It wasn't so bad because they treated him more like a human being than they did at the other one; the other place was a memory care facility that was locked in. The Arbors Hauppauge was OK, but the problem was his family kept him there too long and he couldn't wait to get out. It was like he was in prison. We'd take him out on the daily basis, but eventually he just walked out the door. That's when they transferred him. He does have some memory issues and some dementia issues, but all of a sudden they transferred him from one facility that was pretty open. He didn't mind it as much because he could walk around the place, be free to go, visit the little coffee room, or do activities that they have. The Arbors Hauppauge is a converted motel. The lobby was nice, but it wasn't very clean. Often times I'd go into the elevator, and I would think of urine and the rug would be stained too. The residents in a lot of cases needed assistance, so it's what you can expect. At the same time, I felt like they were understaffed and not on top of the cleanliness. It is like they presented a nice face in the lobby, but once you went inside the cafeteria, it was kind of minimal; I think it is because you get what you pay for. They found the cheapest place to go to, and the price was the best they could find. I've seen their ads saying, 'Don't take the chances, come and winter with us,' which is one of the things that they've marketed to seniors. They also market it as a place to put your loved ones and not to worry about them during the winter months. It's not a resort; it's basic care. My friend did not have a good experience. He couldn't wait to get out of there, but that was because he was only a temporary resident. I didn't think he should be there in the first place. They were doing activities. I saw people doing exercises like sitting in chairs and exercising. They had trivia night and stuff like that. They had activities. They had a board with activities listed. It was the least expensive place they could find; that's why they put my friend there. I didn't really talk to the staff too much, but the people behind the desks were very courteous; that was fine. The people that were helping him in his room (from what he told me), were very pushy. They're understaffed, and a lot of the staff are very young and inexperienced. Also, the facility definitely was aged. It's like they didn't bother updating it when they took it over from the hotel. It's a bit run down. They spruced up the lobby; but going inside the rest of it, it is not exactly beautiful.

I had gone to The Arbors Hauppauge. They let us come in, and it seemed to be nice. The staff members were fine. Everybody seemed very nice. No problems. We're just not sure yet at what point we're ready to make this decision for my mom. The dining area looked fine. There was no food. I don't think with coronavirus that they're doing that. I was surprised they let us in, but they did. The facility looked fine. It was adequate. It looked like it was good enough, and that's about it. The staff was very nice.

We have chosen The Arbors Assisted Living at Hauppauge for my grandmother, and our overall experience has been fantastic so far. The community has a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff is very accommodating, and they go above and beyond. Grandma says that the accommodation is good, it's up-to-date, and well kept. They have activities like shuffleboard, games, music, and they go on outings. Based on what my grandma says, I would rate their food a five out of five.

The Arbors at Hauppauge is a wonderful home for my mom. She is thriving in their loving, safe environment. She gets the best of care from dedicated, caring professionals. She recently told me she is having more fun at the Arbors than she has had in years. She is happy and safe and has developed life long friendships among the staff and the other residents. She was recently voted president of the resident body. We are proud of her and she is thrilled and honored to serve. The Arbors has given our family peace of mind and our Mama B a beautiful home.

My mother has been a resident of the Arbors for over 2 years. Unfortunately we are moving out of state and taking Mom. Just wanted to say it has been an absolute pleasure to be part of the Arbors family! The staff are all warm and caring. The Facility and gardens are just beautiful. There are also no hidden extra costs for things such as giving out medications as the facility is all inclusive. I just can’t say enough, there are loads of activities and holiday parties. Recently Mom told me she had danced all afternoon at a party.Yvonne the recreation director is amazing. There are outings to local stores, plays etc. and Mom who is picky loves the food there! thank you Howard, Shannon, Yvonne,Wanda,Christine, June, Jasmine, Belky, Patty, Victoria, Jasmine in housecleaning, Pierre(gardener extraordinaire) and all the staff there. We will miss you!!!!!

My Dad enjoyed living at the Arbors in his cozy studio apartment. The staff were very friendly, caring and competent. Dad liked to participate in the Bible study, Communion service and rosary group. He appreciated the reminders for meals and the night time bed checks. There were many other amenities and events offered as well.

My mother-in-law is a resident. The facility is fantastic. Clean, lots to do, a staff of people that truly care about each of the residents. The moment we walked into the Arbors, we knew this was a place that my mother-in-law could embrace. Response time for even the smallest issue is quick. The staff makes all the residents feel like family

My mother resides there. A few medication issues have occurred which worries me at times. Spoke with the staff appear to be resolved. Overall, the line staff are great.

My dad is at The Arbors at Hauppauge. I thought that the staff was very accommodating with me, my wife, and my father when we first visited there. The rooms and apartments are OK. I haven't tried the food, but my father has been eating there. He isn't too crazy about their cooking, but it is what it is. They also have a lot of things to do, like bowling, karaoke, trivia, bingo, happy hours, and movie nights. They also have trips to the store. I don't have any complaints so far.

My mother is going back to The Arbors where she was originally. She was familiar with it, she had a lot of friends there, and she wanted to return to that community. She was away for nine months. The staff was good. She was happy with them. The rooms were reasonably sized, and the place was kept clean. There was a very big lobby with couches and pianos, so there's always something going on in the lobby. They had music, dancing exercises, and bingo. They kept the people busy. They offered local trips on their bus.

The caring, attentive staff at The Arbors makes this facility a standout among assisted living facilities. I have had the pleasure of interacting with the employees of The Arbors on numerous occasions. Each time Nancy, Meghan and Howard have been stand outs in their field. The setting is clean ,bright and updated with a huge amount of daily activities. Each day there is bus trip that residents can participate in that takes them out of the community as well. The room is huge and totally redone with a private bathroom and modern furnishings. I believe that the staff makes or breaks an assisted living facility and this one is a winner.

I have a friend that's in the Arbors. She likes it, but she is staying in her room mostly. She has a sitting area, a TV, bathroom, two closets, and a refrigerator. The people that I'd spoken with were very nice. They have entertainment, singers, and a band, and I've been to some of their musical concerts; they had one for Veteran's Day. They're probably going to have something for Christmas. The place is clean. They decorate it nicely for Christmas. I ate with her when it was her birthday, and it was the worst food I ate in my life; they had salmon that day.

The apartments are OK at The Arbors at Hauppauge, but I don’t like the idea of two people in one room. Their dining area is also OK.

My dad is in an assisted living at The Arbors at Hauppauge. He's doing fine there. Everything is good. The staff is very good. Regarding activities, he doesn't really go into them and he's just happy being by himself and doing what he does. He also loves their food and they do have a variety. He also has a spacious room. Everything is good at The Arbors. He is very happy there.
