Peconic Landing is a continuing care community and that's a big part of its appeal. My husband is a resident of the memory care unit, and the staff is responsive. They've really done a great job of introducing him to a situation he's not looking forward to. They're also in contact with me and they've set up all the doctors' appointments that he needs. He's in a single room and they provide basic furniture, like an armoire, dresser, bed, and chair, but I can change it out if I want to. They also have activities for them and the facilities are in excellent condition. I also saw their activities calendar and they certainly have a healthy amount of activities for the residents. The value for the price is reasonable and comparable.

We toured the independent living part of Peconic Landing and it was a very positive experience. The facility is beautiful. The actual location of it is right on the water which gives it almost a vacation feel that, at times, I thought we were at a country club. They have many amenities that I think my parents would certainly be taking advantage of. What we like most about it is the proximity to where we will be living. My son works right across the water from there so I think the proximity is number one. I think my parents would be very happy there. There are very wonderful apartment accommodations that they were very happy with and it's easy to get around. It looks like there are a lot of happy residents walking around saying hello, and a lot of activities they can take advantage of while they're there. We did not have a chance to try the food, but they have a beautiful waterfront restaurant where they shared the menu with us. They were also cooking while we were there and it smelled wonderful. They had quite a choice of entrees for dinner. They also have a bistro which is a little more casual. They offer a complimentary breakfast each day and they also have what they're doing now which is points for the meal plan. They give you a certain number of points per month and you can use them as you choose. If you don't want the full meal, you don't need to get it. If you just want the soup you can use fewer points than the full meal points.

I doubt that there is a better run, more beautiful Life Plan Community than Peconic Landing. They have a vision of how to keep you vital and healthly as you age, and everything they do embodies that. Their facilities are superb - including the fitness area, which is state-of-the-art. Everything is clean, well-designed, and kept-up. The property is right on the water, which is a very lovely thing. The food is wonderful - well prepared, high-quality ingredients, and good choices. The staff is kind, helpful, caring, and energetically so. Also, they are truly a Life Care Community - not fee for service. You'll see this reflected in the cost of fees. Be sure to compare apples to apples. Even though we feel it is too far away from NYC, we are still considering it because it is beyond anything place else we've seen in New York. Even places in PA and NJ that are truly Life Plan communities (and even more expensive, including profit and non-profit) can't compare to the dedication this place seems to have to their residents. We're still not sure we can afford a true Life Plan community versus fee-for-service, but we are still considering Peconic Landing because we know we would be well-cared for for the rest of our lives.

We’ve been to Peconic Landing, and we liked it, but we find it too far for us. We like the life care aspects. Their food was good, and the facilities were nice and well-kept. Everything that we’ve seen and everything we know about we’re very much in favor of that. The only thing we don’t care for is it’s so far away from New York City. It’s a very sophisticated and caring place. The cottages are nice; the apartments are nice and adequate for what we would need. Very well kept and laid out nicely.

I would never entrust a loved one to this facility. It is by far the fakest most outrageously phony place I've ever witnessed. We had a beloved family member purchase an apt with Peconic Landing and they continued to bleed her bank account and decreased service. The shores are a dirty mess. The staff is incompetent and clumsy. The management only care about their jobs and not those entrusted to their care. Please don't fall for the "glamour" , this place is soulless.

Peconic Landing was very beautiful. They had separate houses and apartments, a medical facility on the premises, and a gorgeous clubhouse on the water with a private beach, pool, and a restaurant that is absolutely incredible. Someone even comes to clean your house. They have everything you could possibly need, but the problem was you have to be able to show them that you have enough money available to be able to pay them until you're 100 years old. I had enough money to last me into my 90s, but I didn't have enough to last me until I was 100, so they turned me down. I was ready to move right away. I had the down payment and everything lined up, but I thought that was rather ridiculous. That's my only complaint about them. Otherwise, the place was absolutely beautiful. It's like a little country village with rooms for assisted living, apartments of all sizes, and separate cottages with private yards and landscaping. If you're the kind of person like me who needs your own home and you don't want to be in an apartment, they have that available.

During our visit at Peconic Landing, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and spacious. Their dining area looked excellent. They have a gym and an inside swimming pool.

Peconic Landing is absolutely the best that I have ever seen. It has everything from independent living, assisted living to nursing care. You can go from one step to the other and you don't have to move anywhere else. You also don't have to pay more because it is one flat rate for everything. Everything is perfect in this facility. It is well-cared for. I'm very excited going there because of the ambience that they have. The staff that works there is very congenial. I had a wonderful meal there. The only problem I have problem with this facility is that it is a little farther out from where I live.

Located on the north fork of Long Island, very close to the infamous "Hamptons," the facility is very beautiful. My grandmother lives in a home and continues to even after her husband died a few years ago. The grounds and buildings are all very well kept. It is also very easy to get around the grounds: to get from her home to the dining room is walk-able, but we usually drive her golf cart there (although you ay also take a car). The amenities and things to do, both on and off the grounds are plentiful: there is a pool, weightroom, caf̩ (in addition to the dining room), model train room, game room, tv room, etc all located in the main building. The dining room is beautiful and the food is really good. There are always several soup, salad, and entre options available; I enjoy visiting my grandmother there and having dinner with her very much. The staff is great as well. They are patient and always have my grandmother's table ready for her at dinner time.
