Mom had stayed at Elant for short-term rehab. The place was nice and clean. Everything was fine and I liked it a lot. The staff was fine, hardworking, nice, helpful and friendly. They did a very good job getting her up on her feet and walking again. She had a smaller private room with a private bath, which was spacious enough for her. The food was fine and it only cost me $2 dollar if I ate with her. However, they didn't have enough activities to keep her busy so she got bored and she kept trying to escape from there. They needed to have more activities.

There are not many places in the area to begin with and this is probably the best of what's up there. The staff was very friendly, some were helpful than others, but they're very concern with my dad and that's what's important. He's probably ready to go into a Dementia care ward. They're letting him stay where he is because he's a very positive upbeat, friendly person, and he has a very positive influence on the other residents. So they're doing everything they can to keep him there. He's been there for four years now. He's eating well. They put him on a diet and he lost 40 lbs. and he's no longer diabetic. He's Dementia is more than moderate, but he seems to be eating well. He didn't really liked it when he first started, but once he realized that this was going to be his home, he changed his attitude. He's gotten very active with the residents. They have a singing group that he's involved in. He tries to stay active.
