My wife moved into Sunrise of Glen Cove. I like the ratio of staff to patients, the variety of activities, and the atmosphere. The staff is very accommodating. I usually have lunch with my wife there once a week. They have a social director who provides activities during the morning and afternoon to keep the residents involved. It's very expensive. They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have an extensive porch.

Out of all the communities we saw, Sunrise of Glen Cove was the most beautiful. We really liked the community a lot, but it's just difficult for us to get to. It would take too long for us to get there from our house, but the place was very nice. The staff was also very nice. The rooms were a good size and it's got a nice view. We liked it. It's got good accessibility for someone who's handicapped.

My mom will be moving into Sunrise of Glen Cove. It is very lovely, very homey, and very warm. The people are very warm and giving. I have nothing bad to say about the place. It's a place that I wouldn't mind living there myself. The staff members were extremely good, extremely knowledgeable, giving, and warm. It's a nice environment for my mom. My mom is going to be in a shared suite, so I guess it's two separate bedrooms. They each have their own bedroom door. There's a common bathroom, a common area, and a little kitchenette. It's very roomy and accessible. They have music, puzzles, and various talks. They try to engage their clients. They have cooking demonstrations and hands-on kinds of things. They do have a beauty parlor. We just liked the idea that it was not classified as a nursing home.

I did an actual tour of Sunrise of Glen Cove. I was able to check the accommodations, the dining room, and pretty much the whole place. They take you on a complete tour. I was looking for assisted living with memory care. It seemed like a nice place. It looked very nice, clean, and neat. It was well organized. All of the memory care people are on the same floor; they stay on that floor for everything. In the memory care unit, they were doing arts and crafts that day. The staff that I met was very nice. The rooms were adequate.

Sunrise of Glen Cove was OK. It's not really something I would recommend if you have a parent who's transitioning from convalescent to getting better. The staff seems very friendly. They have a cat in the community and I love cats, but I'm not sure if that would be the best situation for people who have allergies.

We went to Sunrise. They were excellent. They were very attentive. They were very up-beat. The place was clean. You wouldn't feel like you were in a facility. It was more like you were in a bed and breakfast environment. The staff was very professional. They answered our needs, and they were very responsive. They were very good.

Our 91 year old mom has been in this facility for a month. We were initially impressed by the facility itself (which is in immaculate condition) and the kind, caring staff who seems completely dedicated to their mission. After a few weeks, we have become even more impressed, as our mom has been having a difficult transition to community life. They have been extremely attentive and kind in their efforts to facilitate her adjustment, gently guiding her to activities, and sitting and talking with her to ease her anxiety. They could not try harder than they have. They have also been very supportive to our family as we deal with our own challenges with her placement. We are very hopeful that she will adjust in time and have a very positive experience here, with far more support, stimulation, attention, and companionship than she had in her home. I have no reservations in rating this facility with 5 stars.

I visited Sunrise of Glen Cove for my father. The place was absolutely gorgeous. It was very nice. I will go in there myself truthfully. The staff was very nice. The layout was gorgeous. They had a nice dining area. They had a room in case you had a big family and you wanted to have some kind of a party or a dinner, you could have that. They took trips with some of the people who are more ambulatory. They took them shopping, to concerts and stuff like that, which was very nice. The dining room and the food were fabulous. They actually sent me away with an apple pie, which was nice. What I like best about Sunrise of Glen Cove is that when you walk in, you feel like you're in a very nice hotel. The only problem I had with them is that it was a little on the expensive side depending on the care that you needed. They could improve on the cost.

The staff at Sunrise of Glen Cove was very helpful. They took us on a tour, and all their residents seemed very content and happy. The apartments were beautiful and looked very homey. The dining room was clean and beautiful, and all the staff were very attentive to the residents there as well. They had music going on, and they had like a recreation -- they were throwing the ball to different people -- and it looked like a good exercise. I was impressed with the way the facility looked -- it looked like a house.
